I showed up for a one night stay on Saturday May 27- 4:00 PM. I was told the hotel had been turned into a shelter and all reservations cancelled. No prior notice. I book in early May. And I can’t imagine that neighborhood at night.

Hotel's Favorite
Where can I start... I was greeted immediately by almost everyone in the hotel. Check in with was fantastic and fast thanks to Dexter and Alex The room was clean and perfect size, and organized to a fault. You have room for everything and most rooms have enough room for 3 people. There is a basement with games and video. There is a backyard with seating for 50 comfortablely. Then.... You have the lobby. Gorgeous bar, classy bartender - Matthew has second to none focus on detail. Fantastic, frothy margaritas. This guy could work in a Waldorf Historia. Great prices for NY.. Beer and a shot 7 bucks. make sure to ask Matthew or Devora for a slow melting giant ice cube for your drink. A stage. Bench seating. And, yes. Fooze ball!!! Love this place! Can't wait to come back!!!…

This hotel is conveniently located between 2 subway stations and multiple bus stops for getting around Brooklyn and elsewhere. However, you will hear trains barreling by all day and night. The staff is very friendly and there is complimentary coffee and fruit-infused water in the lobby. The sleeping rooms are ok. They feature beds that are kinda on the firm side and not long enough blankets. There is a see-through to the room shower. VaVa Voom. There's also a microwave, but no fridge. The rooms are kinda small, but that's probably how it goes in the area.also, there is no recreational facility, as advertised on the website. Download a day pass for Planet Fitness a half mile away, if you’d like a gym.

Sorry it's a long one. Firstly; I will start with the positives. Although I'm not sure of any names but who I presume is the manager on duty Friday 5th May was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Also, there were 3 men we encountered throughout the stay and a cleaning lady on the last day who were really lovely! Literally the only 3 with any idea about customer service. Also, we found the beds very comfy and the shower was lovely. Additionally, the area looks a little dodgy but its better than you think its going to be and we didn't feel unsafe. Although this might be because we live in London so used to it. Additionally the transport links into Manhattan are great! Thats about it.... Onto the negatives,... after travelling from London to Brooklyn on a reservation we made roughly 6 months out we were flippantly told that there wasn't a reservation for us although we had done everything correct on our side. They have bee experiencing problems with interface between t3rd party booking agents. They tried to find us a room at their sister hotel located 2 blocks away. However, as we were staying for 7 nights they were unable to accommodate and then somehow they managed to find us a room in the hotel. Due to the system error the booking had to be manually inputted, which was done incorrectly and I was over charged by around $350. Thankfully I receive notifications so was alerted immediately and the refund was processed. Unfortunately, the account wasn't reconciled properly and the hotel tried to charge me as an outstanding amount during the night as the room had an open balance. Thankfully I did not have enough fund in this account so they charge declined. When I spoke with who I assume is the manager ( as the night team who were on Reception when I left in the morning didn't have the authority to refund) in the evening and mentioned 'you have tried to charge me another $350' I got a rather curt response of 'well not me!' Clearly i meant the hotel not a specific individual but customer service is completely missing in this hotel bar the exception of around 3 people previously mentioned. Eventually the money was refunded without further issue. Everyday we had to ask for additional towels as even though it was more than obvious there were 2 people in the room we consistently just had one towel left in the room? Also, it feels like the room is not hoover/swept for long periods. Very random. Other than that, the room is fine albeit very misleading in the imagery. They are no where near as big as they look.Also, no wardrobe/drawers which is a very weird concept to me. There is loud music until 12-2am most days. To be honest it didn't really effect us as we were at the back of the hotel and 5 flights up but it is worth noting that the bar turns into a club and there is a smoking area was below our window. You can't open the windows so this is somewhat muffled noise. Overall, just a disappointing stay. However, this is largely due to the check in experience which just tainted the rest of the stay for us. This honestly led to us being very aware of every little niggle. Our experience would have improved 100% by better customer service from the start. I completely understand these things happen but the way it was handled was terrible. THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN... AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This hotel reeks of marijuana as soon as you enter. The housekeeping is the worst I have ever experienced lots of nights there was blood on our sheets after they had been changed by the cleaners needless to say this is so unhygienic and dangerous. One of our nights we could not sleep at all as other guests on the 6th floor screamed and had a violent fight we tried to call reception to let them know -but even the phone in the room doesn't work! You know when your keycard states to "deadbolt the door" you have picked the wrong hotel! Many of the nights we could not sleep at all due to the hotel doubling up as a very loud nightclub on the ground floor until very late. We spoke with the staff members at reception each and every morning however they were not much help and the general feeling is that staff are unmotivated and used to hearing lots of justified complaints. When I asked the first receptionist we met for some reccmmendations for breakfast she was less than helpful clearly not willing to chat. The area on Broadway is especially rough and dangerous and to be frank completely unsuitable for tourists. Rooms are so dirty and do not expect them to be cleaned regularly or to be provided with basics like towels daily. …

My stay here was a 10/10. The customer service was stellar led by Jada. She made my time at the RL very easy. Definitely will be coming back for sure. The atmosphere is really chic and modern. They also have many bars and restaurants nearby. The bar in the hotel is great too.
