Never heard of it before and we were having trouble finding a place to stay. Our daughter recommended staying there. I was very clean, very comfortable. Right across the street was a seafood place that had delicious food. If we travel through there again, that is a definite place to stay.
We stayed here for a single night during a road trip. We felt like the front desk staff was very pleasant and the rooms were pretty spacious. We liked the large shower a lot. However, the room was not really very clean. With a hard surface floor it should be very easy to keep it scrubbed and tidy but there were stains all over it. The bathroom floor and sink were also not particularly clean either. There is a simple breakfast which consisted of prepackaged oatmeal, yogurts and some fruits. We were in a hurry so we skipped that but it looked ok. Also, there didn't seem to be housekeeping if you were staying for more than one night. This might be the reason that the room wasn't very clean.
The exterior & interior were welcoming colors like ALOFT hotels. I was wcomed & as an IHG DIAMOND Member, I decided to pn a trip to Savannah to see my daughter & grandkids while U had a business project the upping week. The room was comfortable, but one can always tl if uts truly clean by walking on white socks. The floor was filthy. I didn't complain cause I di my reviews on IHG whether good/bad which I really don't have in a year, if so it's that hotel do not know to check Diamond Elite guests room prior to checkin. Second, IHG made me 2 reservations to complete my 2 day stay on POINTS. they made sure they called the front desk to confirm that I will be pre-authiruzed a 1 tune charge of $30, well the front desk swiped my card twice & I was upset. IHG/Guest relations honored my 2nd of points back to me, but it was rgat I never received a call after letting Avid front desk know I didn't enjoy my stay, but employees these just need a job & forget the customer service, professionalism and hospitality needed to be in that industry It's a new IHG flag hotel (2 yrs/new)...I will not recommend your hotel.. Jean Johnson. Sorry…
Hotel was just ok. Beds were mushy if you like that kind of mattress but I prefer more firm. Rooms are small and have double-size beds vs. usual queen size. Breakfast was fine and offered the usual options for a hotel breakfast. Again everything was just passable.
Spent the night at this Avid on our way to Orlando, Florida. The desk staff that evening I think her name was Charmaine was very friendly & helpful. Our room was no frills but fine. Breakfast was more than we thought it would be. Breakfast sandwich was very good. My only complaint was I was walking around our room in my socks before I took a shower. My socks were really dirty when I took them off. Think the floor could have been washed better. Would stay there again
Good customer service at Front Desk…. BUT the room was so small and for only being open a little over a year, the bathroom was in need of a good thorough cleaning! No in room coffeemaker, extremely soft bed. We did not think it was up to IHG standards .
I stayed here as a stop on a trip down I95. Hotel was new and very clean. Check in was smooth. Gym had some TRX and other equipment that are nicer than usual hotel gyms. There’s no pool, but they offer coffee and tea 24/7. The room designs were kind of weird (reminds me of an Americanized version of a Japanese hotel) but I did not mind. Breakfast was OK. If you like Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches you’re in luck! Hooters and other restaurants are all within walking distance, with other restaurants on the other side of the highway.
Neither the front desk rep who checked me in, nor the rep who checked me out were able to crack a pleasant smile. I did not feel like I was a valued guest-that is for sure. Staff needs hospitality training. The room was tiny. The King bed just about filled it. Even the desk area was miniaturized. The closet consisted of a set of wall hooks. There was no carpeting. The lighting was painted steel-as industrial as could be. The room was clean and the bathroom was of normal size and had adequate conveniences. "Breakfast" was set out on a centralized gondola displaying cereal boxes and low fat milk. There were bagels and a toaster as well as some Jimmy Dean biscuits. Surprisingly the coffee was superior to most everything else offered. I might stay again if the price was right.
Stayed here for one night while driving to Florida. The location was good - right off 95 and about 15min to downtown Savannah. For someone driving all day and who had a long drive the next day, this was a big plus. The room was clean, bed was comfortable and the hotel in general had good upkeep. The one downside was that the walls seemed a bit thin. I woke up in the middle of the night to someone snoring in the room next door. It would have been nice to have a coffee/tea maker in the room rather than having to go to the lobby each time. All in all, it was a good stay for one and fit my needs.
Wonderful hotel. Only a couple of years old. The room was perfect, clean, modern and efficient. Had all the necessities. A very comfortable bed with crisp white linens. The bathroom was roomy with a great shower, equipped with full size designer shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The mirror was modern with great lighting. The sink had full size lotion and soap. Good AC. The complimentary breakfast and all day coffee was great. There’s a water bottle filled station and ice. The front check in ladies were nice and pleasant. Good parking. Nice lobby. Overall a great hotel. Very happy we chose it. I wish we could stayed longer.
