Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel even though there were some issues before I arrived that were minor. I arrived at the hotel at 6am and they had a room ready for me even though they can make me wait until 3pm. Friendly staff and nice restaurant that you can get free breakfast at depending on your Marriott status. Great location next to a lot of restaurants, Walgreens and department stores. It ended up working out for me because within 2 blocks I was able to get stuff I forgot for my trip and bought a belt from Jos A Bank. Will definitely stay here again in the future It's an older property and needs some work. Lighting in the room is poor but overall it's fine.

We stayed at the Westin Center City several years ago and, having had a pleasant stay, decided to book again for an unplanned one-night stay. We couldn't have had a better experience. From check-in through check-out the experience was seamless. We had been given breakfast vouchers and thought we might grab a quick coffee and muffin before check-out, but our server kindly insisted we not waste our vouchers on a muffin. She brought us the best fruit plate and croissants I have ever had. Every single piece of fruit was perfectly ripe. It was a little magical! ;-) What was planned as a simple coffee grab was turned into something special. The valet was called from the front desk at check out and our car was waiting for us at street level. The room was lovely and spotless, the staff professional and efficient and we will certainly return.

We recently stayed here while visiting Philly. Let me start off by saying I’m a Marriott Loyalist Platinum elite member who knows brand standards. Pros: hot water, central location, fast elevators, delicious breakfast, great bar and bar tender, comfortable bed, luxurious liens, friendly housekeeping on 12, unlimited bottled water, recently renovated (but they did cut corners like door corners still chewed up), fast and friendly valet, and excellent service from the moment you walk in. Cons: small room and bathroom (photos are deceiving), evening room service not tasty, views are looking at building (don’t upgrade to higher floor), wasn’t upgraded considering I’m a platinum elite member, and short ceilings. Service: The service at the hotel was PHENOMENAL. All the valet staff was friendly and fast, except the bald guy. All the front desk staff was exceptional as well. Special thanks to KEVIN at the front desk, he was so helpful anytime, friendly, attentive, and truly made the stay special. Also, SVEDA at breakfast made our mornings special, she went out of our way every time to make sure we had what we needed and she was very helpful and friendly. THANK YOU SVEDA and KEVIN for representing the GOLD STANDARD for Marriott standards. Overall, despite the corners cut during the renovation, I would return the next time I’m in town for the exceptional service and great breakfast.

Good point: comfortable bed. Bad points: I arrived after midnight. I called them during the working hours advising that I was on a late flight. No problem they said; check-in is until 1. When I arrived at 12:15am, there was no one there to answer the door. The lobby is another floor up, so it’s not a matter of knocking on the door to get someone’s attention. I rang the bell next to the door, with no response. I called the front desk, no response. I am used to cities, but I’m a solo female and had two men lingering at the front entrance who were not guests of the hotel and who were very interested in whether I was going to be able to get into the building or not. At least 10 minutes later I finally reached someone to answer the door. When I got to the front desk I told her that it felt a bit dicey because I was left outside for quite a bit, and she shrugged. Fast forward to next day. Because it was so late, I brushed my teeth and when to bed. It was only the next day when I realized I had no soap - none (NONE) in the soap dish nor in the shower pump (it was empty). I used shampoo for soap. I went down to the front desk and advised them I was out of soap. The next morning I assumed they had refilled the empty soap pump. Nope. Shampoo again. It’s a decent hotel, but I would never, ever stay here again. Too many core details missing.

I am a Premium Elite customer who travels frequently for business and has stayed many times at the Westin Hotel in Center City. This week, having booked my reservation weeks ago and after a long day, my colleague and I were disappointed to be told that the hotel could not honor my reservation. They instead handed me an unsigned letter requesting a reservation at another hotel 1-1/2 miles away from by business location. My colleague with whom I was traveling, was handed a similar letter for a completely different hotel. When we inquired as to why/ how this ‘over-booking’ occurred, we were informed that a very large party extended their stay an additional night. We would only be ‘inconvenienced’ a single night and would be offered our rooms on the following evening. Come to find out, the ‘large party’ was the Arizona Diamondbacks who were in town to play the Phillies. Clearly those reservations had not been made prior to mine, and we had been given no notice of the change. Not even a text… They are usual very quick to send out the statement when invoicing. A pretty lousy way to treat a regular client who’s organization has a ‘no boot’ clause…

Dear RMD1965, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback via Tripadvisor. On behalf of our entire team, we are terribly sorry for the inconvenience of relocating to another hotel. I had my reservation booked weeks in advance for check in October 24 for a two night stay. Upon arriving I was greeted with sorry but we don’t have a room for you. They over committed and were turning away multiple guests. I am guessing they must have had the sports team staying one more night and we’re giving the boot to low priority guests. They gave me a letter to give to another hotel that they claimed to have arranged for a one night stay for me. Such an inconvenience to have to be at two different hotels. no advance notice about this. Imaging I had a late night check in. I called the travel team and they were able to place me in another hotel for the two night stay. I Will longer consider the Westin Philadelphia for my future travels to the city.

Stayed in a clean, comfortable, and quiet room and received friendly service from everyone including the front desk staff and the servers in the bar/restaurant. Very conveniently located in relation to the attractions in and around the Center City area of Philadelphia. If you're traveling to see the baseball team you're a fan of playing the Phillies, you might see players and others associated with that team staying there; we did with the St. Louis Cardinals. Excellent stay overall; would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel with well appointed, updated rooms. Our only complaint was the pillows. They are very thick, with very little give. The result was a sore neck and a subpar nights sleep. We inquired at the front desk to see if they have any other pillows available, which they did not. With that said, we would absolutely stay here again, but bring our own pillows next time.

Accommodations were spectacular! Service and accommodations were everything I’ve come to expect from a Westin. I spend more nights a month in a Marriott property than I do in my own bed due to work travel, and I was thoroughly impressed with my stay here. Hands down would stay again when I come back to Philly.
