We booked a suite for a quick family overnight museum trip. Isis, at the front desk, was wonderfully helpful: took care of our late arrival by confirming our room and arranging for the sofa bed to be made up in advance of our arrival - plenty of pillows and towels. Beautiful, spacious, and clean rooms and bathroom. Great breakfast downstairs. Smooth checkout and valet. Nice AAA rate. Definitely coming back! (PS. sign up for IHG One Awards - we benefited immediately)

Hotel- Kimpton Hotel Palomar PHL Date- 3july2020 until 6july2020 (3 nights) Overall: 5/5. Excellent. This was our second experience at this property, and it went very well. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, the staff was friendly and engaging, housekeeping was effective, and adequate meal options were available. The location is unbeatable for the city center. Rewards Club Recognition- 5/5. Excellent. We were verbally thanked for our loyalty, and our room was upgraded. 600 welcome bonus points and a $10 ‘Raid-the-Bar’ Food & Beverage Credit were both provided. A late checkout was proactively offered for our tier of loyalty, and a welcome amenity of 2 large waters, a milk chocolate bar, and a small bag of pretzel bites and candy were all offered. We felt like valued guests at this property. Staff- 5/5. Excellent. We were checked into the property by Ashley, and she was a true delight. She was efficient, yet thorough, as she covered the hotel amenities such as the social/wine hour, the morning coffee service, the housekeeping modifications, and the restaurant. In addition, Emily was informative and fun to interact with. We would come back to the property just to visit with these two again! Property Appearance & Maintenance- 4/5. Very good. Opportunities: Elevators, sinks, touch up paint. Exterior- 5/5. The exterior was crisp and clean, even though there was high foot traffic by guests and passersby alike. The hotel was appropriately branded, and the valet station and personnel were visible and eager to help guests. Interior- 3/5. The hotel is in relatively good shape but having only two of four elevators that work in a hotel this size is a huge drawback when so many guests are not yet ready to share small elevators. Increasingly impatient guests queued up in long lines in the lobby and on the floors and wait times could be excessive during busy times (morning, checkout time, check-in time, etc.). The lobby is stylish and clean, and the hallway walls and carpet were in good repair. Décor was eye catching. All corridor lighting was functional. Some scuffs were present on the baseboards, both in the hallways (on the bottom of the doors to the rooms, especially) and in the rooms, which could be easily remedied. Our sink also did not drain very effectively. The window covering for the shower room does not close; minor repairs may be needed to the roman shade. Accommodations- 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a “Cityview Spa 1 King Bed” room. The room was exactly as advertised. It contained the usual furnishings (bed, table, chair, sofa, some additional seating, a tv, a minifridge, etc.), and everything was in good repair. The carpet was clean and the bathroom spacious. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, but minor stains detract from its appeal. From our previous experiences at this property, we can say that the smaller rooms do not offer such spacious bathrooms. Overall, the room was very pleasing and worth paying slightly more than one would for a smaller room. Housekeeping- 4/5. Very good. The room was well prepared. The bedding was clean, as were the carpets. All tabletops and bathroom surfaces showed evidence of a thorough cleaning. The only area worth further attention is the grout in the bathroom; far too much of it is molding. A high intensity cleaner or bleach could resolve this without substantive effort; worse sections may need the attention of maintenance/engineering. Pool/Gym- 4/5. Very good. The fitness center has re-opened, and an ice machine is again online for guest use. There is no pool at this property. Breakfast/Meal Options- 5/5. Excellent. The restaurant, Square 1684, is open and serving dinner Tuesday through Saturday and brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The menu is reasonably sized and offers a variety of options. We tried a breakfast sandwich and a pork dish, the Philly Special; both exceeded expectations. In addition, the hotel has set up a ‘bodega’ which contains all the usual minibar items. The signature evening social/wine hour proceeds per usual in the lobby, as does the morning coffee service. We felt there were plenty of options for us in the hotel. Of course, there were lots and lots of restaurants nearby. Laundry- not evaluated. No laundry bag or pricing sheet was present in the closet. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. Excellent. Connecting to WiFi was simple, and streaming was smooth. There are no computers, faxes, or printers available for use, but the front desk staff will happily offer to help with select office services. Other- First, the social password was good for either an extended checkout (1:30pm), a bottle of wine, an alcoholic lemonade, or a variety of other options. We chose a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. This was very nice. Second, the doors to the rooms in this hotel do slam, and when the hotel is busy, it can be a nonstop banging in the hallways, day and night; to reduce the disturbance and prevent long term damage to the door latches and frames, an anti-slam product should be considered.

Beware of booking any premium rooms at this hotel! I booked a premium room with points; I called the hotel to verify what the premium rooms are before booking , spoke to the front desk and was told there were three types of premium rooms and that I would be in one of those. The hints were high, which was ok if the room was good. Then upon arriving I was given what they call an essential room. They said it had a city view though, I would definitely not call it a city view. It was a small regular room. The front desk at checkin were not nice or helpful. I decided to call customer service after my stay. Spoke with Chami at reservations , who said she called the hotel and they said that was what they had available and they would not help or do anything. The room I was given was much cheaper than a premium room and the customer service was non existent. I have stayed at many Kimpton hotels and loved them (normally very nice people and great customer service) so this was surprising. I do hope they atleast start selling the rooms right, I have seen other reviews like this and thought it was a fluke, now I know better. I wish I would have booked elsewhere for our anniversary.

It's been a long time since I've been to a hotel in the USA where everything I asked for at check-in was YES YES YES YES... and with a smile. This hotel really aims to please. They proactively upgraded us for award night (booked by Platinum member) to a one bedroom jacuzzi suite and allowed us to stay in the room for the second paid night (booked by Diamond Ambassador). Gave us Diamond benefits for both nights. And the second day we arrived home greeted by a large fruit and cheese plate and 2 large bottles of Aqua Panna water with a hand written note. THANK YOU Paige for making us feel so welcomed. And thanks to Isis and Paige for keeping tabs on us the whole stay to be sure we had everything we needed. Because the whole staff was terrific, including the hosts for the wine hour, I gave 5 stars; but the hard product was a bit disappointing. Decor of the suite was a bit shabby and disorganized. I would put the refrigerator in the living room so as not to disturb someone sleeping. And the living room desk showed dozens of ugly wires underneath. Central light switch didn't work so needed to turn each lamp on and off individually. Uneven LR coffee table needs a flat glass top to avoid spilling liquids. No plug for charging next to one side of the king bed. One of the bedroom lights was out (quickly repaired), a/c-heat had one temp control for both rooms and it seems when we turned up the heat in living room, bedroom air conditioner would go on. Couldn't get both rooms moderately heated. Comforter and sheets low quality. Breakfast was good although both days I asked for cracked eggs and I could taste that they were not. Both days we asked for decaf coffee and were told they didn't have any decaf beans. Even after I mentioned it to the server and to the front desk after day 1. But all in all a fabulous stay. Thanks Again to Paige, Isis, and the whole Palomar Staff. This will now be our go-to hotel for Philly.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel in the heart of Philly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We brought our little dog and there was a dog bed and 2 bowls waiting for her. Happy Hour every evening, coffee in the lobby in the morning. This is my second stay here- I’ll be back!!!!

This is the spot to stay in Philadelphia. The staff was courteous, caring and attentive. They actually checked the profile preferences. The property was spotless. Housekeeping and Valet consistently on top of their game.Although we only had before dinner cocktail’s the restaurant, while lively, never missed a beat. The Palomar is in very close proximity to Rittenhouse Squares’ fine dining and shopping. The next stay needs to be an extended one.

This is a very nice hotel, well maintained, clean and great amenities but it is the staff that really makes this an ideal stay. From pulling up to the valet, to Paige at the front desk, to the daily interaction with everyone we encountered, everyone was so professional. If you need something, someone would help regardless of it was their job or not. That is customer service at its best. Room was a bit small as most city hotels are but it had everything we needed. The only negative and it is not a fault of the hotel is that getting to the valet on 17th street was a nightmare with traffic both times we arrived. It is just a narrow, busy street. Even with the traffic, would stay here again, wonderful stay.

Always a great time at any Kimpton location! We brought our puppy, who just turned one, and took advantage of the "celebrate your furrrst love" package. The hotel provided our pup with a little plush bed, a welcome treat (which she loved), and a bottle of champagne for us. The view of the city from our room was such a plus. We loved our stay, and so did our puppy!

A little feedback for the hotel about my recent stay... I live in MontCo and came into the city with another mom friend to relax and blow off a little steam. She travels a lot but always books with Marriott (Lifetime Titanium member). However, I was booking and since I am an IHG member and love The Palomar, we stayed with you. It was her first stay at a Kimpton and she LOVED it! From feeling welcomed immediately at the desk, to giggling while saying the password, to people watching in the lobby during social hour, to using our F&B vouchers at the restaurant, to returning to the room to find someone had left a little gift... we both had a great time from start to finish! We were just talking about returning to the city (it's her turn to book the accommodations) and she said that she is going to book a room at The Palomar instead of staying at a Marriott branded hotel. She also opened the IHG Rewards credit card through Chase just so she can get status at IHG. Good job on all fronts! You gained a new fan and made me look like I knew what I was talking about when I recommended "my" hotel over hers. Thank you for another great stay!

I loved this hotel. Excellent location. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning and the free wine happy hour each afternoon were a great touch. The adjacent restaurant had delicious food and the cocktails were on point. I highly recommend
