What are the most important aspects of a hotel? Topping the list is ensuring that guests can have a good night's sleep. However, since this hotel is located next to a busy road with loud motorcycle noise, don't expect to have a good sleep.

The best part about this hotel was the service from the front desk. Otherwise, I was not impressive with the hotel as a Holiday Inn property. The bed was extremely hard, the noise from the highway outside was SO loud, and the cost for parking was quite high. The hotel itself could use an upgrade overall, and the picture in the Tripadvisor ad is VERY misleading!

I couldn't sleep at all. This hotel faces a major highway, and has no soundproofing to speak of. You might as well be camped on the side of the road. I asked to be moved to a quieter room, and was shuffled just one room over. There was no difference. The hotel was clean, though. If you're deaf, you'll have a fine experience at this basic hotel.

We stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. The location was perfect for the wedding venue and also within walking distance to the historical sights. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was great...friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was also very good.

We chose this hotel because it offered breakfast and the others in the area did not. I am so glad we went with Holiday Inn Exprs Penns Landing! There breakfast was hot and wonderful. Best breakfast in a hotel hands down! It was walking distance to most all historical sites. I was worrying because it seemed on the map a bit farther out than other options and I am totally out of shape. I am probably in the heaviest ten percent of the population (morbidly obese). It was a very easy walk for me to Betsy Ross House, Ben Franklin Gravesite, Elfareth Alley, Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Liberty Visitor Center and great local dining. The location, room and breakfast was great. Clean hotel in very safe area. I felt very safe even at night. I will say the interstate noise is incredibly loud at night. If you are a light sleeper go elsewhere. However, we are a family if heavy sleepers and I was the only one who noticed the interstate noise but not enough to keep me awake. Loved this place

Stayed for 3 nights during first foreign travel since covid. Really pleasant location and worth paying the extra for river view and slightly quieter location. Amber on the front desk very helpful and a pleasant welcome. Hotel located close to most things in Philadelphia which was great . Also the breakfast selection was not bad to start the day ( never heard or tried sausage gravy), rooms all clean and tidy with optional room service when required. All in all a good stay and loved Philadelphia and location of hotel.

The important thing to note about me is that my #1 priority in a hotel is that its clean and has a bed and a shower. If you are just looking for a place to sleep than this will do. I don't generally need a lot of fuss and in those categories it excelled. The location was also great because we could leave our car parked and walk everywhere. The cost for what it was though was too high as it was just a budget hotel. Also, the refrigerator froze everything ruining my salad and not just a little, it was cold enough that it caused several sodas we had in there to burst. The drain in the tub did not drain. It was not really clear whether there was daily cleaning service or not, I know a lot of places stopped doing this during the pandemic but usually its noted somewhere or they tell you. The first day they didn't come but the second day they did come in and make our beds and leave fresh towels. This was kind of an issue because there were four of us and three towels and nowhere to hang them up. The highway was a little loud but it didn't bother us.

My husband and myself just wanted a night away from our busy work/family schedule. Chose Philly beings it was one of our favorite day trip destinations early in our relationship. This hotel met all our expectations. Great location at Penns Landing because it was only a mile from the historic district, South Street, the casino, Reading Teminal Market. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly. The breakfast was better than I could have imagined. Some reviews complained about the road noise. It is located inbetween several roadways. The noise didn't bother me too much. It is a major city. I only wish we had time for a 2nd nights stay to enjoy the hotel and city more.

I actually ended up getting moved here from the HIE in midtown due to capacity issues, but everything downtown is still within walking or short subway ride distance. Room was fine, and Cristopher Columbus Bvld didn't seem like an excessive busy street most of the time, so it was easy getting in and out of the park lot.

I occasionally visit Philly for appointments and I’ve stayed here in the past. For my more recent visits, I’ve splurged a bit and stayed closer to center city as I was able to get good rates during the pandemic. I came back here this time because it was, by far, the best value. This location is a bit of a walk but that’s fine with me - it is pretty close to the historic area which is nice and the riverfront views are nice. If you’re a light sleeper, beware. The hotel is wedged on a piece of property between 95 and Columbus Boulevard. I had a corner room on the south side of the building and one of the room windows was actually able to slide open a little ways (no screen which is probably a safety hazard) and the traffic noise was deafening. Closing the window eliminated most of the noise except for some dull roars. I like having white noise when I sleep so I was fine with it. The one issue I had was being on the 9th floor (out of 10) was that when the hotel is relatively empty, the hot water takes forever to get to the upper floors. I learned that when I tried to take a shower my first evening. The front desk explained that the best way was to run the tub faucet until it got hot. They offered me the opportunity to switch rooms but it wasn’t worth the trouble. It was fine the next morning but I’m not a super early riser - whoever took the first shower of the morning probably wasn’t very happy. Also, it would’ve been nice to be given a heads up when I checked in as the hotel staff was well aware of this issue. I felt bad wasting so much water so I ended up just taking a warm shower that first night. All in all, I’d give this a 3.5 but I’ll be generous and round up. The hotel was clean and breakfast was decent. They used to have a free shuttle van but I never saw it this time (and I didn’t have a need for it so I never asked). Be aware that, like all city hotels, they charge for parking but it’s not as pricey as hotels downtown. In fact, the room rates here are generally pretty good and I appreciate the special rates they offer for patients coming to town.

Dear CosmoVA, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are happy to hear that you are a returning customer! Our location is pretty ideal for anyone looking to check out the local attractions or visit Center City for business/leisure. As for the hot water issue, out maintenance team is looking into ways to prevent such long wait times. This is a fairly new issue we are experiencing, we hope to get it under control relatively fast. As you mentioned, we are always willing and ready to ensure your stay is to your liking. If a room is not up to your standards, we will do our best to rectify the issue. Again, thanks for the feedback. Please reach out to us if your travels bring you back to Philadelphia!
