We stayed here for just a night for a weekend visit to Philly. The hotel is a good location being closed to the convention center, chinatown, and the main historic attractions, all accessible by foot. Parking is available for a fair price in the parking lot next door belonging to the convention center. Room is modern. My wife had a modest complain that the comforter had a couple of coffee like stains. Otherwise it would be a five star experience.

The lobby front desk was very helpful in local food tips, they were always polite and the rooms were spotless. The bar area served great food and happy hour was a plus. This is in an awesome location too!

We had a great stay at Aloft, right before Christmas. The lobby space is absolutely stunning, in part bc of the decor, in part bc it's just a beautiful old bldg. The vibe was young and hip. The rooms are small but comfy and decently equipped for what you pay and the location is perfect for exploring the city. My only complaints are that the sliding door to the bathroom was a little janky, no fan in the bathroom, and the complimentary coffee was terrible. That said, this will be our go-to hotel when we visit the city. All in all its a great deal!

I said here for 2 nights and I was very disappointed. Pictures are inaccurate, house keeping was unhelpful, valet is $50/night and does not answer the phone.

I found the pictures of the rooms to be misleading. They are much smaller than they seem and though it's marked as city view, the one window only gave a view of the building across the street. The hotel failed at refreshing our room in a 2 night stay and when I called to ask for turn down service they told me house keeping had left for the night. The valet was over priced and unhelpful, not answering the phone when I called for my car which takes 20 min to retrieve. They offered no help with our luggage which should be important since there is a staircase to get to the front desk. I will not be staying at this hotel and I would not recommend it.

Prior to the trip I requested additional items (towels, lotion, etc) to be proactive. The desk reps attitude and service was consistent and incredible. At check in we were upgraded to a high floor city view at not cost. Sadly, nothing we requested was there. In fact, the room missed the bare minimum. There weren’t enough towels or hand cloths for even one person. Our coffee and work stations missed key items. It just seems like the room must have slipped under the housekeeping task list. There was hair in the shower and cleanliness was questionable. Despite, the location and service was unmatched. I certainly plan to book this location again. You should too!

Hi Ruth, Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed our service and location. Clearly we missed an opportunity to overdeliver by placing items before you arrived, we will work to get better at that. Keep giving us that chance, as we have removed some items from rooms to reduce touch points. Hope to serve you again soon. Safe travels, Evan - GM

First, the entire place was spotless. That’s a big deal any time, but especially these days.

This hotel is a little unusual, given that it’s a converted bank building, so the rooms aren’t traditional style. But it was a very good experience.

Check in was quick and easy. You need your keycard to go to the guest floors in the elevator, always a safe idea. Staffers we met were exceedingly friendly and helpful.

The king bed room was small, though a typical size for any big city hotel. The layout is unusual, with the bathroom just inches from one side of the bed. There’s a TV hanging over the desk so you can watch from bed. Shower (no tub) had lots of pressure and hot water. No ice machines but go to the front desk and they’ll get you as many Ziplock bags of ice as you need, which is really better anyway. Room was quiet, but it’s a city, so there’s street noise even on higher floors.

Very short walk to Reading Terminal Market, Christmas Village in Love Park, Macy’s. Wawa at 12th and Market has your morning coffee. If you want to go to South Philly for a game or for Pat’s and Geno’s cheesesteaks, the Broad Street Subway is a block to the right at Race Street. Didn’t use the valet; parked in the Gateway Garage on Spring Street between 15th & 16th, which is $27 for any 24 hours.

Overall, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and return.

Great location close to the music venue.
I treated my wife to a concert at the music venue location approximately 1 mile from the hotel.

It was nice to make it a special night and stay overnight. Once the rain stopped it wasn't a bad walk back to the hotel.

The hotel had an upscale theme. The blinds were definitely room darkening as I read in previous reviews. She is a tough critic when it comes to hotels. She mentioned she would stay here again.

The only negative comment I have is regarding the trash can. It was filled with bottles and garbage from a previous stay.
I feel emptying the trash is one of the easiest things to do when it comes to cleaning a room.

I like the Aloft brand but I must confess that my expectations were enormously raised by the first example in which I stayed (Reno) and subsequent experiences in Alofts have fallen somewhat short of that standard. This is a good hotel and I particularly love the entrance lobby which pays homage to the fact that this was once a library. In said lobby you will find friendly and helpful staff, a pool table, giant jenga and plenty of room to sit and relax, as well as a bar.

The check in is actually up a level from the ground floor and the elevator goes to both so one must choose either "Lobby" or "Ground" when descending, although the street is easily accessible from both. One enters the elevators through an arch way upon which a colorful array of information runs which is cool. Once you arrive at your floor the decor is nice and modern, although we were disconcerted to find a couple of clearly used wine classes immediately outside our room. These were still there the following morning which suggests to me that they escaped the cleaning of the room in the morning, and were not picked up later presumably because a cleaning sweep wasn't done later.

We were worried our room would have similar evidence of forgotten items but this wasn't the case and all was well. However, the room was very small and I was glad we were staying for just one night. The bathroom, although fully functional with a nice walk in shower, left little room for anything except on the spot toweling dry so to speak. Again, not too much of a problem but be prepared for this. Rather more irksome to me was the fact that the in-room safe (which I like to use for valuables/cash etc. so I don't carry them on my person when out at night) was inoperable. The combination LEDs never lit up or gave any evidence of working at all. Again, on a one night stay and immediately going out for the evening, I didn't bother to tell reception but again, these things should really work.

The room was perfectly comfortable as were the beds and I slept very well despite the fact that our room was extremely noisy. There was a connecting door to a neighboring room but since we didn't know those folks it remained locked BUT the party noise from said room was intrusive. Now, it's not the hotel's fault that guests are loud and to be honest, noise bleed doesn't bother me excessively as I just use airpods to deaden it but it may bother you so be aware these rooms suffer this type of noise bleed.

All in all I would certainly stay here again. The location is excellent and very convenient for the sites which are in walking distance, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby and the area seemed safe. It was perfectly fine but the couple of things I note would have improved our stay. If I was here for a week or so I would have found the small room tiresome after a while but for a short stay like ours it was perfectly fine and reasonably priced. We are Bonvoy Titanium members and, as I always write on reviews of Marriott properties, that is well worth having as it buys you upgrades, higher floored rooms etc. which Marriott brands generously provide most times.

The Aloft in Philadelphia is adjacent to The Convention Center. It was the perfect hotel when we went to The Philadelphia Flower Show. The valet parking was a life saver since most lots were filled for the show. We were disappointed that this Aloft did not have a restaurant. We've stayed at the Aloft in Chicago and Austin, and found it convenient to have a place for breakfast, etc.
I would definitely recommend this Aloft. It is close to The Market that offers a wide selection of foods, etc.

Great location right downtown near many metro stops with easy access. Staff was extremely patient and friendly considering everything going on at various times. The outdoor terrace next to the lobby is also a very cool & interesting space.

I paid using Bonvoy points, 40,000 points/night, which was extremely overpriced for the quality of the rooms and hotel overall. My room wasn’t very clean, there was dust throughout the room and some small messes around the desk & fridge area. Bathroom also could’ve been cleaner. Very basic Aloft property overall that was not worth the price. However, staff made up for most of the property’s issues.

Hi Bodega, Thanks for choosing our hotel and sharing your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed our Backyard (outdoor space) and location. I apologize that you were not pleased with the room cleanliness. That isn't okay and I'm not sure how we missed it, but I will take action to be sure it isn't repeated. I am glad our staff treated you well, they always appreciate the shout out. I know 40,000 points is a lot, enjoying the downtown locations is usually more points than our suburban hotels and hopefully worth it. Hope you'll return to Philly and our hotel soon! Safe travels, Evan

If you book on Marriott’s website or app, you have the option of seeing rates that are inclusive of tax and fees. Highly recommend that. Otherwise, I’m not sure what you consider incidentals. There’s no resort fee.

Hi Amy, Thanks for booking our hotel. Each of our rooms has a mini-fridge. You can bring your own pack and play, however as a historic hotel, not every room can safely accommodate a pack and play. Best option would be book a room with 2 queen beds, there would then likely be plenty of room for your pack and play. There may be other options. You can call the hotel with your reservation details and we can discuss your options. Safe travels, Evan - GM
