We stayed for four nights over Memorial Day Weekend. PRO: GREAT Location for being a tourist. Helpful and friendly staff, especially room cleaning and valet. Large, clean room. Comfortable bed. Safe large enough for a 16" laptop. CON: No bureau in room, only one small drawer to put things away, so our suitcases were sitting out open all 4 days and we were draping some of our clothes over the chair and sofa. Very small open "closet." We had to ask for luggage rack and more hangers (there were only 4). Breakfast service (yes, holiday weekend) took over 40 minutes for food to be delivered. There was only one chef in kitchen - despite three groups of wedding guests in hotel.

Hello Barriea2013, We greatly appreciate you sharing your experience with us! We agree our location can't be beat in this city! And we love hearing that you found our team helpful and friendly! We were sorry to hear your disappointment with the style of the room. Our minimalist style is what we are going for, but I'm glad to hear we were able to provide you with more items for your items. I'm going to certainly follow up with our Food and Beverage team regarding the experience in the restaurant so we can ensure its fixed moving forward. We hope that you will come back and see us again the next time you come to Philadelphia!

The location is great. The front desk staff are very nice. They let us check in early. The toilet of the first room they put us is didn’t work and they quickly changed us to another room and gave us free breakfast the next day. They were very attentive. The condition of the rooms is not ideal. There’s paint chips and some lightly broken things. I was concerned the lock on the door was broken too. What surprised me is how dirty the rooms are. Amenities may not be new as we had stained coasters and half filled bottles of body cream. The windows are so dirty it is difficult to see clearly. As I was about to take a shower, I discovered the drain full of hair. Not even the coffee machine was clean. The worst part: we found a piece of glass on the floor, we’re lucky we didn’t cut ourselves.

Unbelievable how rude the bar tender “TIM” is to customers. The cost of drinks are high, the food cost is high and then you have to endure the rudeness of the bar tender. I sat there for an hour with friends and thought maybe it was only me but then noticed he did it to everyone. Snippy responses about “I have what you see on the bar” when asked do you have “this brand or that brand”. Overall he kills the experience and would not recommend going to the bar if he is tending it.

Hello Ddb2422, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Please know this is being looked into as we speak. If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great hotel experience that so many of our guests have grown so fond of.

Chose the hotel due to its fabulous location. Easy walking to everything. The hotel is great, although perhaps a little dark inside. I think the Renaissance brand is one of the better ones with Marriott. The only thing is parking, valet parking is $55 and self parking at the lot next door, that doesn’t actually connect to the hotel is $31. Annoying, but need to park somewhere. The hotel itself though is very good and highly recommended.

Good and bad... The Good! Great location, very convenient to the "historic" stuff nearby, clean, funky lobby design, and insanely kind/helpful people at reception (once you find it.) Traci and Erik were ridiculously great with breakfast vouchers and Erik riding in the elevator with us because my 8 year old does not like them. The room was nicely setup, beds were comfortable... They were also super gracious in giving us an early check-in and late check out. Breakfast was better than I expected. The Bad! Reception is hard to find at first. We were given our room but housekeeping was still there and the room was only partially cleaned. We found an enormous hair ball under the bed. Pretty foul. We had a two queen room, but they only made up one of the beds and did not completely clean. Kind of strange. Honestly, I would've been fine if they didn't come at all, but they came and only did 1/2 the room. The pool was utterly freezing day one and then almost hot tub-ish day two and three. And on that note, where did the hot tub go? It's still advertised, but it is most definitely not there. They do not give you any blankets. It's just a few sheets on the bed. When I asked for blankets, they just gave me more sheets. All in all, it's a nice hotel. I chose it in part because of location and that it's one of the few Philly hotels that has an indoor pool (crucial for an 8 year old) and supposedly a hot tub. I would definitely consider it again if the price was right, but would most likely book elsewhere next time.

The Renaissance was a great home base for a family weekend trip to Philadelphia. The location was perfect and allowed us to walk to most places. All the staff were friendly and helpful. And the room itself was great.

From the moment I arrived, service was top notch. I cannot thank Renaissance enough for going above and beyond. Having mentioned that, I would be remiss to not point out how clean and comfortable the accommodations are and how well designed the I pool and gym area are. Were I able to, I would have given more than 5 stars. Thank you to all who helped us out, you really did make my time with my family all the more relaxing.

We loved our stay at this hotel, which is very well located for seeing the historic sights. Independence Hall is a block away in one direction and the one block away in the other direction. We received a warm welcome and were able to check in very early in the morning, which was a nice surprise. The hotel has a cool lobby with lots of seating. It offers free coffee and fruit-infused water, a nice touch. We had a huge room with a large window overlooking the Second Bank of the United States building. The décor is attractive with Philadelphia/Benjamin Franklin-themed art and one black paneled wall. The bed is comfortable. The desk and TV are both large. The bathroom was large, too, with plenty or space around the sink for toiletries. We had an empty mini fridge to keep water cold. The room was clean.

This was the first time we stayed at the Renaissance in Philadelphia and we were very impressed. Tracy greeted us warmly as she checked us in and when she noticed we had just become Mariott members, she gave us a coupon for a complementary breakfast. This was totally unexpected and much appreciated. All of the staff we met during our stay made us feel like valued guests. The restsurant and lounge staff were friendly and most accommodating. Suhel was attentive and most helpful to us during our breakfast on the second day of our stay. He went out of his way to see if we had a complementary breakfast for our second day. This was again a totally unexpected coutesy. The staff in the lounge were super friendly and fun. Joe and Erik who checked us out were warm, friendly and again made us feel like long time valued guest, not first timers here! The room was clean, well designed and had a great view. This is the only place we will stay in Philadelphia. We were here celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary and it was an absolutely perfect stay! The amazing thing is that we didn't even mention this special anniversary to the staff and they still went out of there way to make our stay so nice. This is just their usual way of treating guests! Thanks to all the wonderful staff who made our weekend stay perfect!
