The Wyndham Philadelphia is located in the heart of the Historic District, a stone's throw from all the major historic sites in Philadelphia. When you stay in a Wyndham, you know that you are going to get a great price for a large, clean, well-decorated room. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I got a great night's sleep in preparation for our tour of the historic district the next day. The front desk receptionist was extremely courteous, and she was very helpful, answering all my questions. Although you can come and go from the parking garage as often as you like without an additional cost, you will not need to use your car to get around to see all the sites. It is very difficult to park in the historic district. The one drawback is that there are not a lot of places to eat in close proximity to the hotel, but if you are willing to walk about 20 minutes, you will find yourself in the "restaurant district." We were able to take an Uber for about $8.00 to the restaurant and $8.00 to return to the hotel as it was night that was too cold to walk. However, in warmer weather, it is an easy walk. We plan to return to Philly next month, and we will definitely choose the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District for our stay!

Efficiently run hotel, in a great location. Staff are pretty friendly except in the restaurant. It was January and there was a very limited and expensive cold buffet available for breakfast (or not even that), so go round the corner to Luna cafe instead. Internet codes only last 3 days which is a nuisance if you're on a longer work trip. The room was heated by a noisy air conditioner/heater, which brought it up to temperature quickly but I switched it off to sleep - good thing I like to sleep in cool rooms. Bed very comfortable; bathroom clean and shower good.

I felt deceived by my first impression of this hotel. The location is centralized, relatively "safe" and the staff is super friendly. However the entrance makes it feel as if the hotel is updated, and yet when we got to our room we were met with less of a "historical" and more of an outdated feel. The bed sheets had some small stains, the bathroom was not "sanitary," the shower was luke-warm and then cold. Once we arrived we immediately changed our reservation from one night to two. Again, this was easy and the staff was kind, but it began to feel more and more overpriced as our stay went on. An additional $37 just to park in the garage that is ATTACHED to the building, on top of the base cost for a room, it just seemed a bit much. I can appreciate antique decor, old infrastructure & "signs of the times" while traveling, especially in a historical area, but this place needs to come into the 21st century at least with their cleaning and quality standards.

Pros - the front desk staff was very kind and helpful, the room was clean, the water pressure in the shower was good, they had a laundry room

Cons - I would like to say first of all, they didnt put anywhere on the website that there was no breakfast in the morning at all or that you would have to pay $30 to park your car in the hotel's garage.... more cons, the elevator was really slow and sounded like at any second you would end up getting stuck on it, there were no liners in our garbage cans in our room, the wifi took 30 minutes just to connect and was constantly kicking us off, there was no where to change our dollars into quarters in order to wash/dry our clothes (and our daughter vomited the whole car ride to the hotel so it was really inconvenient to not be able to wash/dry her clothes and then keep them in the room with us overnight), and the last con is that there was no breakfast in the morning. i understand the whole pandemic and limitations, but I've stayed at hotels in small towns that had cold breakfast in the form of to-go bags, and the wyndham philadelphia's hotel is in a large city so it was disappointing that they didnt consider their guests in making a decision to have breakfast. usually breakfast is one of the factors in my decision to booking a hotel bc i have 2 small children so its really inconvenient to pay for a hotel and then have to find a restaurant or somewhere to eat early in the morning.

I paid $185 for a 1 night stay plus $30 for parking, not to mention, no breakfast at all, and had a laundry room but old machines that only take quarters, not dollars, not cards, which overall was a huge inconvenience. lets just put it this way, i paid the same amount for a really nice 5 star hotel in Times Square, NYC for only $185 with parking included and a free breakfast too. if NYC, one of the states with the highest rate of COVID positive patients, can make it happen, then theres really no excuse for this hotel to charge the rate it does but not provide basic services. not only not provide, but outright hide the details from you. this should clearly be stated on their website so ppl know and can plan accordingly.

Overall, good stay. Perfect location. Everything was within a 15 min walk. Just park somewhere else, bc the parking fees are ridiculous. I advise downloading an app to find cheaper parking within a block or two. Covid ruined a lot of stuff like breakfast (none offered, they do have a "Grab and Go") and housekeeping so we understand those changes. But finding empty chip bags under the bed makes you wonder how well the rooms and beds are actually being cleaned in between clients. Also, be advised that there is a fire department located across the corner from the hotel and if they have an emergency you will most likely hear the sirens at any time of the day or in the middle of the night as it was our case and more than once in one night.

This was our first time at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District and it took three attempts before we got into a good room. First we were given room 512. We found that the door to the refrigerator did not close, the arm chair was filthy with a large crimson stain on it, and there were two objects that looked like candy inside the air/heat vent by the window. We did not unload our luggage and went down to the front desk to complain. Front desk staff apologized and gave us a new room. The security guard helped us with our luggage and accompanied us to room 806. When the security guard opened the door, there was evidence that the room was already occupied (clothes on the floor). Fortunately, nobody was inside the room at the time. So we go back down to the front desk again. Front desk staff apologized and gave us another room. The security guard accompanied us to room 809 and waited in the hallway while we inspected the room. Since the room looked clean and we didn’t see any damage, we finally spent our three-night stay in this room.

Special thanks and shout-out to Security Guard Atiba Gamble for his assistance and patience as he escorted us to different rooms.

The business center is located in the front lobby and has only one computer and printer. However, the computer/printer did not work. The breakfast buffet was good, but a bit over priced. Parking in the adjacent garage seemed secure and parking fee is $38.50 per day.

We enjoyed walking the short distances to restaurants and historic attractions. Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District is in an ideal, convenient location and needs to be managed better.

Room Tip: You must tell the front desk when you check-in that you want housekeeping or they will not come in to clean your room.

This hotel is near the Historic District attractions (Independence Hall, Constitution Center, Liberty bell). We bought the Visit Philly package primarily because it included parking which was otherwise quoted at $35+tax. The parking garage is right next to the hotel. This was a big plus because we had looked at other hotels in the area where parking was in a lot a block or two away. We did not eat at the restaurant in the hotel because there are numerous restaurants (including the famous Reading Terminal) within a 15 minutes walk.At check-in, they gave us a printed list of restaurants that were within walking distance. The staff was friendly. The room itself was adequate. The visit philly pass was a little confusing. It came with two sightseeing passes but we (nor could anyone at the information center where they were selling them) could not tell how many attractions we could use it for nor did we know if we had to use it one day. It turns out that it was valid for two attractions and it could be used over 30 days. One of the things we used it for was the bus tour which was worth it.

This hotel is in a good location for being able to walk to many of the historic venues at Independence Mall. You can walk to the Independence Mall Visitors Center, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. There's a lot more nearby within walking distance, Benjamin Franklin Museum, Museum of the American Revolution and many more. Parking is a real challenge in this area so being able to park at the hotel and walk to things was great. We booked with a 50% of parking rate that allowed us to come and go from the parking garage with our car each day without being charged each time.

Hotel is nice overall. A little on the older side, but it was clean and staff was helpful. The menu in the restaurant, Coins, is a bit limited, but if you plan ahead you should be able to find places to eat nearby within walking distance.

Parking garage is adjacent to the hotel and there is not direct access from the hotel to the garage. You go from the lobby outside to the parking garage and then have to take an elevator up to the level you parked on. Each time you get a ticket when you enter the garage and then need to get it validated at the hotel front desk so you do not have to pay for parking each time you leave.

We stayed in a room with two Queen beds. The beds seemed a little smaller than most Queen beds, but not as small as a Double bed. It wasn't a problem for us, just an observation. Overall, the room was large enough for four of us.

Wonderful hotel. Location perfect, very clean, and staff was VERY attentive and kind. I checked out then realized I left food in the mini fridge. The front desk staff was very accomodating, even calling the cleaning staff to make sure it was still there. Wonderful hotel.

Decidedly meh, but in a good location for Old City Philadelphia. The room decor was very old, all of the furniture in my room was dinged and dented. Some outlets didn't work, the bathroom, while clean, was far from spotless as the vent was rusty and there was the typical mildew and mold around grout that you find at 2-3 star hotels. The carpet looked clean though, which is a good things. The room was also much smaller than I expected, it was a tight fit for 2 queen beds, I was surprised.

I don't know about other reviews who said it was quiet, the hotel is across the street from a very busy firehouse, so depending on your room, you will hear sirens all day and night (we did). The windows did little to block out noise. We also heard plenty of trucks and motorcycles at all hours of the night as well.

Also, we could never get housekeeping to clean our room. Apparently you need to explicitly ask for this when you checkin, which we did not know. The next day, we asked, and they still didn't clean the room. We resorted to swapping out towels and leaving garbage outside the room to be emptied. This was very weird, I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel like this. It was a 3 night stay, our room was never cleaned. Very odd. We saw housekeeping cleaning other rooms, but never ours.

This all being said, for the price, this is average hotel in Philadelphia. You can certainly spend more and have a nicer place in the same area, but the Wyndham typically has some good sales this make the price very affordable for the location.

I can't really recommend this place unless you are on a tight budget, next time I visit Philadelphia I would spent a little more and stay at a Marriott or Hilton owned chain most likely. It's worth spending a little extra to get a nicer room in my opinion.

They do have overnight parking. I don't recall the fee. You get a ticket at the garage and get a validation ticket from the front desk of the hotel. It's in the middle of a city so it is not cheap.
