The rooms were comfortable and the location was perfect. The front desk were extremely helpful - even offered to go to a convenience store for me to get quarters for the washer and dryer! The restaurant food was good, and surprisingly, affordable for a hotel breakfast but the last morning we were there, they had one server for the whole restaurant and she was overwhelmed with having to serve all those tables by herself. We complained to the front desk about her not having any help and they were unresponsive and didn’t take any action to even have someone go around with a coffee pot to people who were having to wait to order and to receive their food. One of the two rooms we had, had no hot water at all in the morning and when we complained to the front desk, they said they would have someone look at it. They explained that they were renovating and may have had some plumbing issues. That afternoon, we had hot water but the next morning, it was back to taking an ice cold shower.…
Good stay overall. My advice to anyone lodging in place using the Wyndham rewards system--ALWAYS keep your receipt. Odds are you won't get your points unless you ask for them again later and have a receipt to prove you did stay there.
Great location but rooms need attention. You can't beat the location. The hotel is in the middle of it all it was the original Penn State! Hoping now with a bit of a return to normalcy staff can keep up with the maintenance of this hotel.
I made my reservation by calling the hotel’s designated phone number. Selected the prompt for reservations. I made a reservation for 2 ADJOINING rooms. I waited on the line for over an hour to ensure I could get adjoining rooms. The customer service representative guaranteed me the reservation were correct. Fast forward three weeks later we arrive and the reservation is WRONG! They cant accommodate my request so now my family is forced to separate. The room was old and way too small. This caused alot of undue stress for us. First and last time using Wyndham. Only chose this hotel because of the location. If you have a special request… RUN! They wont honor it. The rooms are too expensive to put up with this! Note: The parking is $36/day.
Very close to so many things! Our room was clean, it had a small fridge and microwave. Apparently there is a pool on the roof but it was too cold when we went. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
