Staff doesn’t communicate with one another causing them to NOT following through on wedding block guest and family accommodations details. The Notary was our primary room block for our 300 guest wedding of which 60-70 rooms were contracted at the Notary, an after reception after party at Notary bar with 100 plus guest attending and a scheduled brunch morning after wedding with 75-100 guests attending. Issues and dissatisfaction with most everything we planned for. We had a major theft in one of our bridesmaids rooms with no care, consideration or follow up from property management unless we chased them down. Major damage to car in Valet we waited for assistance to report this but no one assisted for days. Contracted day after wedding brunch most details were not met by on property Restaurant management, rooms keys constantly fail to access rooms it took sometimes an hour to have response from front desk, at guest checkin front desk was not consistent handing out gift bag which caused guest to not have itinerary print out included in bags causing confusion of ceremony time and transportation information. Most disturbing is when our family dissatisfaction & poor experiences was communicated to the Notary ownership group ASHFORD GROUP - their VP of Asset Management we spoke to on a post experience phone call has yet to follow up and it’s been three weeks since that 30 minute phone call took place. Not surprising based on our overall experience. We didn’t expect perfection just common courtesy and follow up but we received neither during our stay and even after we communicated our poor experience to their management. In summary we would never want another family to experience this total lack of hospitality & general courtesy this hotel property lacks. The silver lining in our wedding weekend = our wedding reception venue one block from Notary “the Crystal Tea Room” exceeded our expectations in every area and our secondary room block at another competing brand exceeded expectations as well. We’re a long time loyal Marriott family staying at their properties around the globe but will be considering alternatives going forward after be treated so poorly at this Marriott Notary.

What a truly awful hotel. Numerous aspects of where this place fails have been covered before (the outdated and slow elevators, the rooms which are Courtyard standard with new wallpaper that's already peeling, etc.), but the service matches the low physical standard. Attached is a photo of the line up to check in. The "elite check in" poster lead to an unattended alcove. A long time later we were in our room - a connecting room on the 6th floor which qualifies as the "city view" we booked, apparently. The noise through to other other room included such delights as full conversations at 5:30am, some (very boring but continuous) sexual activity, and a blaring TV for several hours. Housekeeping is only provided if you specifically request it, and even then you may not get it (we stayed three nights, got it on one day and were skipped over the next). None of the facilities that are open are reflected on the "What to expect" website, why even bother having that website if it's all wrong? There are so many choices in Philadelphia, even if you are loyal to the Marriott chain - stay away from this "Autograph Collection".

Hi jabc, Thanks you for taking the time to provide some feedback on your stay back in December. We're sorry you did not have the best experience at our hotel. We are in the process of replacing and updating the elevators which we hope will help improve the guest experience. We are also sorry about the wait you experienced during check-in; we're still understaffed but will continue to look for better ways to serve our guests. Thank you again for your feedback and we'll be sure to discuss this during our upcoming staff meeting. Sincerely, Michael M

The Notary is oneof many Marriott properties within shouting distance of each other. The rooms are large and provide all the basic amenities. Unfortunately there is no laundry which would have been an asset for sure. It is very well located and provides walking options to all key areas in downtown. Highly recommended as a property of choice in Philadelphia

Pros: Awesome views, right in the heart of it all, once you park, no need to drive again very nice staff. 12 noon c/o awesome! Cons: A Spanish restaurant, we wanted American food. This tiny, tiny sink is outside of the bathroom extremely inconveniencing, there is no place to set your stuff but on the toilet, we had no idea that the coffee and fridge was a secret drawer, no one explained anything to us. We, unfortunately, had to take an adjacent room to our suite, someone was playing with the doors all night, this had me paranoid and thinking someone was going to pry their way in. There's no dinette to at least have door dash or something and have a nice quiet dinner. Very Bland, I've had much better, cheaper.

Nice room with comfortable bed and good shower. Very good location for Philly tourists. Easy to walk almost anywhere. Elevators are really really bad. They are very slow and beat up. Lobby could use a refresh. Feels a bit tired. Overall a good spot in Philly at a decent price,
