I am a local to Willcox and got evacuated along with my dog, Olive, at midnight on the 4th of July because of a gas leak. AZ Sunset Inn was on the BringFido app, their prices were the best in town and they had a room for me and Olive.

The room was excellent with basic amenities; microwave, coffee, mini-fridge, hair dryer, DISH TV.

I was struck by how CLEAN the room and bathroom were! I got the best sleep I've had in four months since I adopted Olive. The pillows and beds were clean, very comfortable and heaven sent.

Even though it's dog friendly it was *quiet.* There's plenty of parking, and it's a block from a Circle K. This was during the COVID restrictions so the Inn didn't have a breakfast.

When I got there at midnight I pressed the button for service and the manager was right there, no waiting.

If you're planning on coming to Willcox for their wine festivals in May and October or for Rex Allen Days and need to stay over, I highly recommend staying at the Arizona Sunset Inn. The prices are right and they're a few blocks from the festivities.

My title should sum things up. :)

Mucho props to Greg at the Arizona Sunset Inn. I've stayed here 3 times for the wonderful Willcox Flyer bicycle event, and the hotel continues to excel as an excellent choice for lodging in Willcox, AZ.

The rooms are clean, with thought placed into their design. The rates are fair, the wifi works as needed, location is excellent for the cycling event and wine tasting or the Rex Allen Museum.

The room fridge worked wonderfully, as did the air conditioning. Hot water is instant, and water pressure is high (excellent).

Most importantly, the service is outstanding. You are dealing with a family business committed to excellence.

The Source of Coffee house is within a few hundred feet, and is a must visit. The Harry Saxon House is an incredible piece of history and beautiful structure. Walk there, enjoy a cup of coffee and enjoy the history.

Last but not least, give Macy the dog a pat on the head. She has been greeting hotel patrons for a number of years, and is an iconic part of the Arizona Sunset Inn.

We were super happy with our two night stay. This is a very unassuming looking place right on the edge of the old part of town. The carpet was old and worn, but other than that it had a lot of updates. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. The maintenance man was always around cleaning up any tiny bit of trash, washing things down etc. The beds were super comfortable. They have a sort of enclosed outdoor plaza area where we could sit in the shade and let our dog run free. Macy, the local dog, was friendly to us but scared of our German Shepherd! The hot breakfast was cooked to order… eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, pancakes. All delicious. And best of all it was right next door to the Source of Coffee coffee shop which had the best coffee we found in all of Arizona. What a find!

The rooms are big and clean. Tile floors no carpet so that was a plus. They do have a bbq available in a walled off area in the parking lot which is nice since the restaurants are so so or not open on Sundays. It is an older property but it has been kept up.
Negatives are no amenities like blow driers so bring your own. The blinds don't seal tight so there is light let in, The telephone is the clock for the room. and the dining room is small. The breakfast is cooked to order with a limited selection but it was tasty and didn't take a lot of time to make. If the place is crowded you may have to take your food outside or to the room

We booked our reservation based on the reviews we read and we were not disappointed. Everything about this place was wonderful. Room was very clean, quite comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Our Fourth of July breakfast was cooked by the owner himself and was greatly appreciated as it was our anniversary. There are places to sit outside and enjoy both food & beverage. Easy walk to downtown wine tastings & places to eat. We will certainly be back. Thanks again for the effort Greg - most appreciated.

We had a wonderful time while in Wilcox to see the Sandhill Cranes. The staff was very pleasant (Macy, too!) . The room in which we stayed was neat, clean, quiet and comfortable; it’s simply decorated, yet tasteful. We had all the amenities: fridge, microwave, smart T.V., wi-fi, hair drier, ac/heat and plenty of outlets to plug in our devices. The breakfast bar had something for everyone including a variety of beverages, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. There’s plenty of parking and the location is convenient. We highly recommend the Arizona Sunset Inn and Suites!

We chose this hotel for the price and was impressed by what we got for the money: a quiet, clean room with a comfortable bed and pillows. The room had been nicely renovated and the owners were generous with their toiletries especially the bathing soap. Coffee and a continental breakfast were provided every morning. The owners went the extra mile to serve breakfast and it was nice to have that personal touch which had been a grab-and-go breakfast during our travels since Covid started. Though there isn't a pool, the "pool area" has been converted to a great place to sit and relax when the weather permits. Restaurants and conveniences are all within walking distance. Skip the chain hotels/motels you'll be taken very good care of at the Sunset Inn!

The hotel is old but is well maintained. The room was very clean. The bed was on the soft side but comfortable. The air-conditioner worked well.
The complimentary breakfast starts at 6:30 with no provisions if you have to leave early. We were in Willcox for the annual Willcox Flyer Bicycle Ride that started at 7 so the 6:30 breakfast didn't work for us.

I highly recommend this hotel.

It's awfully hard to update an older property. Well, they've done a good job with the Sunset. This is a nice hotel in an older location. The property was probably developed in the 1960s. It is older, but they’ve done a marvelous job of restoring/maintaining it. A surprising renovation feature is their bricked parking lot. They’ve put down a bzillion pavers in a herringbone design all across the parking lot. Actually quite attractive. In addition, they are fixing up an adjoining motel. It doesn’t have the charm of the Hotel McCoy. But, it is very up-to-date with remodeled rooms, new paint, even new windows. The furnishings are crisp. And it’s clean.

The breakfast is similarly impressive. The breakfast area is a small room behind the lobby. Not very big with 3 or 4 tables. There’s also a patio with several more tables. Modest, but comfortable. What is impressive is that breakfast is cooked to order. Yes, the menu is rather modest – bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, yogurt, toast, homemade salsa, coffee, juices. But it’s so nice to have it cooked to order. The server/cook was most pleasant and produced a cooked breakfast quickly. There were only a few diners while we were there (good since it’s a pretty small area). A most enjoyable breakfast.

We found this hotel by using trip advisor. The town is small and there are some chain hotels near the highway exit. The reviews made this hotel seem like the better choice.
It really was. We booked the double Queen suite. What we found was a huge room with a nice kitchen area complete with dishes. Obviously this was even more important than usual due to Covid.
The room was actually three rooms one with beds , one area with a table and couch for watching tv then the above mentioned kitchen.
Everything was clean and check in was easy. Only a few restaurants in town but they are good so we ordered takeout and used our kitchen to reheat and enjoy our stay.
Nice sitting area outside as well. Nothing to look at but the road but there are tables a grill and the area has lights
All rooms open to the outdoors not a hallway
Comparing to the chain competition on the exit this is far better.

I didn't see any gluten free when I was there...just boxed dry cereal, milk, yogurt and pastries...but the yogurt was of good quality and it would be gluten free. As someone else has said it, they are very accommodating hosts and I bet would provide something gluten free if you notified them ahead of time. Cheers, Linda
