I originally booked the Redbury Hotel for my partners 30rh birthday but due to covid and staffing they rearranged our booking to the sanctuary. We arrived New years eve and enjoyed 4 nights in this beautiful hotel. Location is fab! I was pregnant at the time so made use of the tubes at the end of our road. The hotel is right in the middle of times square which was perfect for bringing in the new year amd your just a short walk to the main attractions top of the rock and central park. We visited a show whilst there and again was in walking distance from the hotel so perfect location. I didn't pay for breakfast but I mentioned at check in we were here for a 30th and they upgraded our room and gave us complimentary breakfast. The rooms are so comfy and modern with a beautiful walk in glass shower. It just felt like you were staying in a typical new York Hotel from the movies. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. If your looking for somewhere to for a short city break in New York I would recommend this place.…
We decided to take a quick getaway to NYC and see a taping of a show at the Fox news building. I found the Sanctuary was close, reasonable & had a rooftop restaurant/bar. So, I booked for 2 nights. Honestly, I couldn't of asked for a better location. Half a block from the center of Times Square, the show at Fox was literally, directly across the street and great restaurants all around. The room was small, but it is NYC. It was modern, quiet & clean. The only complaint would be the door to the toilet weighed a ton and was so difficult to close, we opted to just use the curtain for the entire bathroom area, not a game changer by any means. Continental breakfast was included & was what you would normally expect. Coffee was very good, think it was Starbucks. My biggest disappointment was the rooftop bar, which could also be my own fault. Getting a reservation was close to impossible. Thursday, due to private events, we couldn't access until after 9pm. Too late for us after traveling, seeing the show & walking around. Tried for Friday, no openings. After traveling around the city all day, no luck. Then standing outside, we see folks walk up to the doormen, wearing casual clothes & sneakers ushered up to the restaurant, said specifically that they did not have reservations. I was thinking, huh??? Guess I should have asked more, but assumed I needed reservations. Never got to the rooftop. Moral of the story, either make reservations as early as u can ahead of staying and/or ask more questions. I would definitely stay here again. Location & cleanliness are key!!…
Great property perfect location highly recommend! Close to all major attractions in NYC…. Great staff at property. I will stay again for a pleasure trip. Half block from Broadway 1/2 price TKTS!!! Walking distance to great restaurants and theater.
We are at this hotel just now, we felt compelled to write this review as soon as possible, from the minute we arrived the friendly door men Doug (the taxi man) and Rashid made us feel so welcome, the hotel is a super chic boutique hotel with an excellent rooftop bar, with restaurants and the amazing Haven. I am a travel agent in the UK and I will be recommending this hotel to all my clients, rooms are spotlessly clean, modern. Doug and Rashid who both work long hours always make time to chat and advise all visitors, they are very much an asset to the image of the Hotel. Looking forward to visiting again hopefully soon, thank you to all staff
stayed here for a week 9th may , loved everything about hotel and staff . So friendly and helpful , ideal location for exploring New York as it's just off timesquare . The rooms have large comfy beds and free toiletries , free grab and go breakfast set us up for the day , bagels , cereals , boiled eggs , pastries , all nice and fresh . Would deffinetley stay here again (when my husband lets me book again with my mate lol) love love love love it thankyou xxx
I had a 2-night stay at the hotel, and our check-in process was the worst that I have ever experienced at any hotel. Terrible, slow and rude customer service at the front desk. One desk person made a snide comment about my appearance, and when I politely asked if our room was available after waiting 30 minutes for it in the lobby (at the normal check in time), another front desk person told me that their policy is that the room is available anytime after 3PM, not AT 3PM, which makes no sense at all. The lobby was full of people waiting for their rooms, which took much longer than we had planned or expected. The manager was right next to the front desk person as he made me feel like I was asking for something wayyyy over the top to have a room ready that I reserved, at the check in time. Strange and terrible experience, would not recommend this hotel unless you don't mind waiting and having awful customer service at the front desk area. I am an easygoing person, so completely thrown off guard with the rudeness. These front desk clerks clearly need better customer service training and they should move the check-in time to 4PM if 0 rooms are available for multiple people checking in at 3PM.…
The hotel was great, room while not large was extremely well done. The people were great very helpful and extremely welcoming. The only downside to our trip was that the A/C did not work. There is a great roof top bar and separate sushi restaurant.
My stay at Sanctuary was terrific! Location is outstanding. Service is very good. William was consistently helpful and looking to assist. Yes, the rooms are fairly small. But if you do your research, you know that going in. And the price was quite competitive for a nice hotel in this location.
We stayed June 7-10. The only reason I gave an average rating is the doormen were very friendly and helpful. The room is very small and the windows let no natural light in but that is not why I rate it low. They advertise stocked mini bar in the room. They don't have that however having an empty mini fridge is nice because you have to walk the CVS or Walgreens to purchase anything you might want to drink even water. In the reception area they do have small plastic cups in which you can get a little drink of water. We could not go to the rooftop restaurants because they were booked our entire stay. They cater to non guests. If you arrive back to the hotel as the non guests are waiting to go upstairs you will have to wait behind them to get the elevator. We were told we could go and get a drink 15 minutes before the restaurant closed. They advertise this rooftop as a guest as well but it is not available. If you really want to stay there I'd suggest making reservations in advance for the restaurants. The continental breakfast was just like any other. Cereal and pastries. I recommend staying elsewhere. I sent a message on the hotel website about our experience and suggested Maybe considering the paying guests. No response to date.…
The hotel is beautiful and very clean. We appreciated the complimentary upgrade we got and really loved the room we stayed in. The location is perfect - just a few steps away from Times Square, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We will be back!
