The New York Marriott Downtown is frequently praised for its spotless rooms and modern comforts, while guests have called out the exceptional views and spaciousness of the accommodations. Despite some concerns over outdated room features and the value of the destination fee, the serene atmosphere and convenient location near the World Trade Center resonate well with visitors. While the hotel's amenities and professional staff generally meet expectations, the variable service quality and weekend closure of the concierge lounge are noted by some travelers.

This hotel provides everything a good hotel should. The standards I keep Marriott to is pretty high considering I travel to many other Marriott properties this hotel is no exception my one bedroom view displayed the world trade center, as this may be one side of the building this was an extra for me as I love traveling back to New York. There is no pool however this should not turn you away from staying here. The in hotel restaurant at the back is good with a good selection of choices and variety. I did not get to try the Bar/restaurant however I would expect this to keep to the Marriott standards as well. I would definitely recommend to stay here in attendance either for leisure or Business travel this hotel provides a fair and centrally located stay with a short walk to the amazon prime store or the 9/11 museum this hotel is a sensible choice for anyone traveling to New York

We are frequent visitors to NYC, particularly Battery Park, and decided to use Marriott points to try out the Downtown Marriott. We won’t be returning. As we entered the hotel, we encountered stairs rather than a ramp to carry up our suitcases. Taped across the stairs was a make-shift extension cord to light the Christmas trees on either side of the landing. This, combined with the “phoning it in” demeanor of the Front Desk staff quickly alerted us to the fact that this was not the 4 star hotel it claims to be. Despite our platinum status, we were given a room next to the ice machine, which unlike any other hotel at which we’ve stayed, was not housed in a separate room, but was free standing in the hallway. We not only heard its users all hours of the night, but the works of its machinery all day and night. If you’re traveling to NYC and/or Battery Park, stay at The Wagner. Its ambiance, accommodations and service are light years better than the Marriott Downtown. The room prices and offers are better as well.

Stayed at the downtown Marriott for two nights (weekend), very pleased. Since we have a toddler, we try to reserve a suite whenever possible. The rate for a weekend in New York for an actual suite with a closed door living area was very reasonable here, so we selected the river view. The room was incredible - by any standards, but particularly New York standards, it was a absolutely massive. A comfortable king bedroom, attached full bath, extra half bath, full dining room and living room with optional pull out couch and doors to close off the room. TVs in each room. 180 degree views of Battery Park as well as the Hudson. Our little one had so much space to run around, and we were just a few blocks walk from our reason for visiting. We also really enjoyed the Bill’s restaurant in the lobby.
Our only negatives were 1) the lack of water pressure in the shower, which didn’t change depending on time of day and 2) the painfully constant pixelating of the cable television. It was basically unwatchable. Thank goodness for the streaming options available.

We stayed here for one night. We ate in the hotel at Bill's Bar and Burger. It was good. Wifi was god. There was a refrigerator in the room. The location in very good. We walked out at night and felt safe. It was a beautiful night and the area around was well lit. Walked down to the water and to a small park. There is a $17.21 Resort fee but they give you a food and beverage credit that nearly covers it.

We stayed here for almost a week.

We had a red eye flight into Newark Liberty so had requested a very early check in. We did appreciate their flexibility and we were assigned a room with a view of New Jersey and the water. The hotel seemed a little older but overall nicely maintained.

The lounge was open from Sunday dinner through Friday but only during breakfast or dinner hours. This limited the amount of time we could use the space which was a bummer. It had great views including the Statue of Liberty and was comfortable. They had a good variety of breakfast foods and the fancy coffee machine was our favorite. Lounge Staff every day were friendly and helpful. I wish I remembered their names but they deserve kudos.

Our room had really comfortable beds which was one of the highlights. A small closet but at least the bathroom was good size for all of us. The coffee maker could be nicer.

The gym was expansive with lots of cardio equipment and weights. Only two other people were working out in the morning so it was nice given that masking was optional now.

Location wise it was close to the 9/11 Museum, Freedom Tower and Oculus plus a number of subways stations. We liked not seeing so many people compared to my last stay near Times Square.

The one major annoyance was the mandatory $25 daily fee. It resulted in a credit that could be used in Bill’s burgers for a meal, drinks in the executive lounge or items from the small convenience “closet” by the front desk.

Overall, I would come back and stay here in a future trip to NYC.

I was excited to spend two nights here in October 2021. As a Bonvoy Platinum member, my suite upgrade certificates were accepted and I was booked in a corner junior suite on the 31st floor - one of the nicest rooms on the property.

This hotel is such a horrible disappointment. When stepping out of the elevator on the 31st floor, the hall is extremely dark and dank, reminiscent of a submarine. It was honestly creepy!
I had a large NW facing corner room with fabulous views of the Hudson River and One World Trade. Other than the fine view, the room was quite ugly. The windows do not open and the HVAC system is extremely loud. You can hear lots of noise from the hallway and the bathroom is not soundproof either.

The bathroom must have been renovated recently and offered an excellent shower.

Overall, this property is depressing and dated. There is no outside space to enjoy like so many other nyc hotels seem to offer now. The concierge lounge is closed on the weekends. No joy or light is found at this hotel. The staff were nice enough but don’t come across as joyful.

There is a Starbucks in the lobby that opens at 6:30 am.

I cannot recommend this hotel and I will never return to this property. The hotel across the street (to the north) is far superior and typically offers slightly lower room rates.

Got lucky enough to stay here last weekend and I will say there is absolutely nothing my family and I didn’t love about this hotel! We have religiously stayed at Marriotts for the last 20 years and are always exploring new locations. Before our trip we contacted management about some questions about our trip and were so pleased with how great our exchange with them went before and all the way thru our trip! Upon pulling up to the hotel we were quickly greeted by someone to help us with our luggage, we were able to then check in and the staff was very helpful and kind. The location of this hotel was great, within walking distance to world trade and a block away from many necessary subway stations. We were upgraded to a suite for one of our rooms which they connected to our other room so it was basically a whole condo style to ourselves with views of the statue of liberty on one side and the city on the other! We were given access to concierge level which had a starbucks coffee maker, a great breakfast and plenty of drinks. On the weekends they don’t do breakfast so they gave us vouchers to get breakfast at the restaurant which had a full menu or a breakfast buffet, the manager at the restaurant was there every morning chatting with us and was super kind and helpful. Every morning when we would leave to head out for the day the housekeepers were in the hall and would ask if there was anything we needed, it was so sweet. Every need we could have possibly had was met, even before we knew what we needed sometimes also lol. We will be back ASAP, we are already missing this atmosphere so so much so thank you! (also most of these pics are after we had already moved in and gotten comfortable, sorry)

My stay at the New York Marriott downtown was great! The hotel is in a very convenient location near multiple train and bus stations so it is easy to get to wherever you need and it is especially convenient to the 9/11 Memorial and museum. The building is well insulated and quiet at night which resulted in great rest. Staff was friendly and on point and rooms were clean and welcoming. Great job!

The New York Marriott Downtown is located near Battery Park and provides decent accommodations for business travelers. We recently stayed in this property to celebrate nine years of being together, but after my experience, it may not be the best choice. This is a business hotel, and certain things may have changed recently after the general manager transitioned to another property in NYC.

Even though the previous GM forwarded my request and acknowledgment of a special occasion, the respective NY Marriott Downtown location member overlooked the email. When I arrived at the hotel, no recognition of this event in any form was given other than the same king guest room with a particular view was presented. Being a Titanium elite member, it felt a bit inconsiderate on their part. In addition, the lounge seemed a bit crowded and hectic during breakfast, and the restaurant below had highs and lows in terms of service and delivery.

Regardless of this bittersweet experience, the bed was comfortable. The location is quiet and near the 9/11 memorial. There is also a five to 10-minute walk to the nearest train station. There are a few people that I would like to recognize - Geraldine at the front desk for assisting with availability and trying to find a decent-view room, and Patricia in Housekeeping for taking care of our room. Geraldine and Patricia helped to troubleshoot a housekeeping issue and were helpful during our stay.

Finally, please remember that they charge you $25 per night to use on the property, and you must use it daily, or you will lose it. Please use it either in the restaurant for a drink or the mini market next to the front desk. I am not sure if I might return to this location, but perhaps things will change as a new manager is appointed soon.

I was so tired after trying to ride the subway with luggage, after we landed. We took a taxi the rest of the way to the hotel. We were greeted outside by Idris! He would not allow us to touch our bags. Right on time! and each time we left the hotel we were greeted the same when we arrived. The customer service exceeded my expectations. Front desk was helpful as well. I had an early check in. I was still accommodated with a high floor room with an awesome view! The room was luxury! The restaurant downstairs was good. although there's a destination fee i got it back with being able to charge $25.00 a day to the room. subway stops are not far or urber or taxi depending on where you're going. I would definitely stay here again!

VERY expensive. It is on their website but I am on mobile right now. We found a garage 3-4 blocks away for under $45 on Spothero and that was much better priced and an easy walk
