We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks and honestly, people who attended us inThe Market are the ones who made our stay more pleasant and unforgettable. Every day we returned late to the hotel and wanted to rest and eat something in The Market. Whenever Sowpon and Wadid were there, they always greeted us with a smile and helped us choose something delicious to eat or drink. Sowpon and Wadid, we thank you very much for the excellent work and your friendly service.
Hyatt Grand Central NY was fantastic. The staff was friendly and approachable, the room was amazingly comfortable, roomy and clean. The location is perfect, as it is right next to GCT, and only a few blocks from Bryant Park. I look forward to going back in the near future.
Average experience , average customer, service and just a average hotel, didn’t live up fully to the Hyatt regency in Central Park! New York, still really enjoyed my time spent and experience there, would recommend any other franchise within the Hyatt to book, lol
Avoid this hotel--business travel, vacation...it doesn't matter. I can't imagine why Hyatt allows them to hang their sign on the outside of the building. I was told they re-branded it a few months ago to call it the Hyatt Grand Central rather than Grand Hyatt Grand Central--that seems very appropriate. There are plenty of other hotels that would deliver a superior experience in the area.
We took our grandson on his first NYC visit. The hotel was perfect, neat, clean and very safe. We loved the fact it was connected to Grand Central Terminal. The doorman were so helpful pointing us in the right soya direction which subway to ride.
I have stayed here many times over the years, my recent stay in August 2022 will be the last. This hotel has just one benefit: it's steps away from Grand Central Station; that convenience no longer outweighs all the reasons to avoid this place. Originally reserved a 2-bed city view room; got an email offering upgrades to a suite for a couple hundred dollars each night so I called the front desk directly to inquire whether the suite had a sofa bed before accepting the upgrade. Clerk confirms the suite has one King and one sofa bed, and I click the button in the email while on the phone to activate the upgrade. No further communication from Hyatt on this change. Day of the trip, I see in the app that it still shows the original room. Chatted online with Hyatt Reservations who basically say nothing "went through" (even though I have an email printout of the change), and they further refuse to correct the issue (excuse is that the room isn't available---yet I can book it online right in that moment). Main Hyatt Reservations supervisor on chat tells me to take it up with the Front Desk on arrival. When I get there, they still insist the suite is sold out and in testimony to their incompetence they inform me the suites do NOT have sofa beds anyway. My tiny 2-bed city view room was rundown from one end to the other. Cracks in bathroom tile, discolored bathtub grout, gaping expanse in cabinet to show where a mini fridge should be in any decent hotel, lighting strip under desk dangling by a wire, bathtub plug loose and impossible to pull back up to drain water. Toilet is wedged between the bathtub and the sink cabinet, hope you're thin. Housekeeping was a complete fail. Called them to bring up a coffee/tea service (only on request, nothing in the room normally); they responded after an hour with just coffee pods and tea bags but no kettle or coffeemaker, that took another hour. Bathroom only had towel for one person (2 bath, 1 hand, 1 washcloth); called for more towels and they eventually brought 4 bath towels but no additional hand towels or washcloths. Requested housekeeping between 9am and 1pm: didn't happen; when they showed up later we were in the room so I just asked to swap out towels and again there were no hand towels or washcloths (maid said she would send some up). Hours later, no washcloths so I called Housekeeping again and the response was "We're very short of washcloths but I'll try to find some"---never did apparently. No vending machines. Convenience store has some food items but you have no mini fridge to keep anything cold anyway. Store also closes early so if you are out on the town forget a snack when you return. Amazon Go and Duane Reed are on opposite corners to the hotel but they close early too. And for the convenience of being right next to Grand Central Station, you have to walk through urine stench from the homeless and/or mentally ill people sprawled on the sidewalk. In past years, this was more like a business-type hotel; clientele now looks more like tourists who found the cheapest hotel chain they knew. Quality of what you're getting is similar to a never-renovated motel in some small town.…
We recently stayed as a family with 3 rooms. Next door to Grand Central station which is a stunning building. The station also has some decent food outlets, although avoid commuter hours as it gets busy. Hotel is very close to all the attractions and you can always get the subway from Grand Central station if your legs need a break from walking. Every room was clean and modern. Lovely, large, comfy beds. No noise at all from outside even though we faced a busy road. All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Security ask for your room key each time you enter which is reassuring. The only staff that let hotel down was the Starbucks concession, quite abrupt in their service, Bathrooms in lobby area were always clean. Lobby area is spacious and a relaxing place to sit with a book in between sightseeing. This hotel wasn’t out first choice, we got moved ahead of our trip by our travel company as our first choice hadn’t finished refurbishment. We think we got a good deal, we would definitely recommend and stay again.…
An unbeatable combination of cleanliness, class, and location. I stayed here a couple times in the late 80s, and I am glad to see that there has been no deterioration in the intervening years. I will absolutely stay here again the next time I have the chance to return to New York.
Tiny black hairs all over the bathroom sink and shower area . Black hairs in the towels. Sink did not drain and shower pooled with water after immediately turning on . Shower handle on wall for water temperature was hanging out of the wall. Ac was barely working and room was warm.
Blood was on toilet, no wash cloths, was informed by house keeper who came at night to clean in bring rags she was the only one cleaning hotel that's why we didn't never receive them. Refrigerator broke
