This is a fabulous hotel with a fabulous location. I booked a signature king suite after reading the reviews on here about room size. We were there for a week so I think a suite was a wise choice. Just for a weekend a regular sized room would be fine. Our room looked exactly like the hotels photos so no surprise for us. All of the staff at this hotel are so lovely and helpful. You must show your room key every time you enter the hotel and need it to select your floor in the elevator. They give you coupons for continental breakfast. You can either get grab and go breakfast from Bond45 restaurant in the hotel or from Crave restaurant down the street or you can pay $5.00 plus taxes to sit in the hotels other restaurant. You go to the lower level of Bond45 and you have your choice of 3 different breakfast sandwiches or a bagel or fruit plus one drink. You get one food item and one drink. I would go pick up breakfast from Crave down the street. This is a fabulous family run restaurant. Highly recommend. They have a list of the options you can have. Again, one food item and one drink. I'll post a pic of their menu. This was our go to place for pizza as well. Soooo good! The bellmen are very helpful with directions or getting you transportation. The location is absolutely perfect. Hamilton was directly across the street. There was a safe in our room that you swipe whatever magnetic card you would like (I used my Costco card). I liked this rather than having to remember a code. Timesquare is literally at the end of the block. So close. Great location right in the Theatre District. Highly recommend this hotel and we'll definitely be back!…
My parents stayed at the Hotel Edison in 1951 on their honeymoon and came back to celebrate their 70th anniversary . They were treated like roylaty by the entire staff and i can not say enought wonderful things about the hotel and the staff . The customer service can not be beat and the staff can not do enough for their guests . The hotel is very old time elegant and the rooms are nice and clean and Covid safe. They upgraded my mom and dad to a suite which was lovely adn due to their age they had a walk in shower , which was very thoughful. Security is tight , you can not get up to the rooms withought a key car , which you also need for the elevator . My parents raved about the staff and the service that they received . The Edison had a team meeting before my parents arrival to let the staff know about the special occassion , so everyone greeted them by name and congratulated them on their anniversary .Special thanks to Scott and Rommel for making this a perfect weekend . MY parents are planning on returning for the 75th . i live in Manhattan and am going to send all of my out of town guests to The Hotel Edison because it is beautiful, clean and safe and they treat everyone like family . Thank you to all the staff as you made this weekend so special !!!…
I had the most wonderful stay at the Edison Hotel. The staff was exceptional and I could not ask for better service. The room was clean and the blend of modern and deco decor was lovely. Also, being steps away from Times Square and across the street from Hamilton didn't hurt either. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend.
We loved our stay at the hotel. We had asked for a quiet room, and were given one that was perfect. We were down the end of a long hallway, away from all noise of Times Square, and never heard a thing. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The room also provides Starbucks coffee, which was a nice treat, because so many hotels have stopped putting coffee and tea in the room. All of the employees we worked with were friendly and kind and helpful. We look forward to staying at this hotel again.
The hotel flooded on our original floor and the front desk had to downgrade our room. I do mean downgrade our room due to no availability. The first room flooded, the second room had no air, and the third room had a toilet in the shower. The manager allowed us to check out the next morning by paying half price for the six-hour stay($144). We checked in the Marriot across the street. I hardly ever give any reviews, but this hotel is horrible.
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Edison and would definitely recommend. The doormen were always pleasant, the location was amazing. We chose to pay the $5 each morning and eat in at Bond45 , the service staff were very attentive and the food was delicious. Our room was clean, beds comfortable however the bathroom was a bit of a let down as it was a bit old and the shower pressure was terrible. I did mention the shower to the front desk, they kindly sent someone up who said that is how the showers were, hmmmm! Apart from the shower, our stay was wonderful.
I had such a wonderful stay. The hotel is fantastic and the service is amazing. Rommel was so helpful and making sure that everything was all set for me especially since I was arriving at 1 o’clock in the morning. I’m so grateful for all his help. This will be my go to hotel anytime I visit the city.
Hotel is a bit tired but its good location and tbh, when in NY you only sleep there so doesn't matter that much. Rooms could be bigger and renovated. The biggest disappointment was breakfast which was iencludded in the room. That was grab and go at very poor quality food and 1 drink. If you wanted to sit in you had pay $5 per person and the choice of food was as well poor. So thats the biggest downside. As well charge of $1 to leave the bag. That is the first ever hotel that i stayed in to do so - and Im traveling a lot. The biggest plus is the staff. very helpful and happy even tho there is a lot of guests to help with. The one member of staff that stud out for me was Justina from front desk. She was very helpful, understanding and always smiling. Well done
I say it every time... I will never stay anywhere else. This hotel, staff, food, bellmen, concierge, management... IS THE BEST. I use this hotel for my motorcoach tour groups and for my personal trips. In last year I have stayed four times. LOVE everything about it.
We stayed here for 10 days in June - I was very excited for my first trip to NY as we came for my 50th birthday which fell on a date during our trip and my first impression, the hotel..... left a lot to be desired. The staff are great, very friendly, but that is where it ends sadly. The room was awful, certainly did not look like any of the rooms in the photos ( perhaps some rooms have been updated?) the whole room looked like it had not been updated since 1931 and although for three people it had two double beds, there was not much space to move and a very small bathroom ( although I hear this is standard in NY). The room and the corridors stank of cigarette smoke, and yes, it was cleaned every day, but did nothing for the smell or the dark and dreary room, which frankly was very depressing. I would certainly not stay here again, I could not wait to get out early every morning just so I did not have to stay in such a depressing room.…
