The Wash. Sq. Hotel is like a second home for us. We are New Yorkers who retired upstate, but I still have projects to do that brings me to Lower Manhattan. From the moment we arrive, the doorman helps us with the bags (we are not as young as we once were), the desk clerks are friendly and promptly take...

Next time we're in NYC we'll try and stay here again. The WSH is in an excellent location for wandering around by foot. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bathroom was clean - both room are bathroom were much bigger than other places we stayed in NYC. Breakfast was great as you could take...

Hello Greg, Thank you so much for the review! We are so happy you enjoyed your time with us, and found everything to your liking. While the village is generally quiet by our location, occasionally there might be some minor noise from outside. We do offer interior rooms as well, not facing the street, which will definitely offer a quieter...

My family and I came into the city for a weekend of relaxation, good food and music. I chose this hotel primarily for its location and based on reviews. We were all very pleased! This is an older hotel which has been subtly updated to maintain its connection with its and the neighborhoods history. The beds are very comfortable and...

After trying to book a hotel room with two beds near NYU on various travel websites, I had almost given up (rooms either were not available or were way outside my family's travel budget). Then I contacted the Washington Square Hotel directly and found that rooms were indeed available and were very reasonably priced. When we got arrived, we were...

Room was excellent, staff was very helpful, breakfast was more than adequate. No real need for the subway since we could walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Stayed three nights , but will consider again for longer stays in the near future.

My daughter and I stayed for five nights. The staff was wonderful. They helped with dinner recommendations, car services and ideas for things to do around town. Thank you to Charles and Beverley for making our stay extra enjoyable. The rooms are small but since we didn't spend much time there it was perfect.

I choose this hotel because my daughter had an audition for NYU and I wanted a hotel within walking distance. This hotel the perfect choice. The first thing my daughter mentioned was that it has a "Great Gatsby" feel to it. It was an older hotel, with charm. I was impressed with how clean our room was, even though it...

No noise from adjacent room. Coffee capsule machine in room. Staff and lobby helpful. Feels like a small hotel. Room rate includes free and good wifi and a buffet breakfast room,...

This hotel is perfect for those who are interested in staying near Washington Square Park and are not picky about room size. The continental breakfast is more than adequate and the location was perfect given that my meetings were mostly in the SoHo area. However, my room was barely big enough for one and while my bed was very comfortable,...

What a great find. I have stayed in big chains on past trips to the city. Wanted something different this time. Was a holiday trip for my daughter who had just turned 21. Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
