I can't fault this Inn. It's clean basic and close to everything, 20min walk to the Highline and the Whitney Musume, the supermarkets and 14th train station are 2minute walk depending on which exit you use. Friendly staff. There is no lift only stairs which is fine... Coffee and tea facilities with a light croissant or pastry in the morning. Wifi and a computer if you need to access more. What more could you want? I travel to NY for 10 nights and only stayed here with my 21-year-old son. We had double size bunk beds which was perfect and comfy. If you love thrift stores there's one a 2minute walk away at the housing co-opp. It's very good. Happy days.. safe travel
The staff at this hotel sets a standard for customer service that I wish every hotel had. They were polite, helpful and went of their way to make sure our stay free of stress. The rooms may be small but they are spotless and comfortable. The bathroom is modern and provides everything you need including hair dryer and robes. The robes were an unexpected bonus,so unexpected in a hotel in this price range. Coffee, pastries as are chilled and lemon lemon water are available 24 hours. There is one staff member I have to commend, Pedro, he worked so hard to make us comfortable. We unexpectedly needed a roll out bed. We had to go out right away, when we got back, the bed was set up and extra towels and robes provided. He was there every time we needed him, and often ahead of our needs before we masked. Pedro always referrered to us as "my guests" a breath of fresh air, a staff member taking responsibility for his action, Thank you Pedro for a memorable experience. Check in was flawless. We needed to drop our luggage of before check in, another great experience. I apologise I don't know how to spell his name; phonetically it is Aircon. The location is ideal, walking distance to Times Square and Chelsea. The subway is just around the corner. Thank you Chelsea Inn for a memorable experience!! I travel extensively both work and leisure, I say this just in case anyone thinks I have nothing to compare it to.…
The area is not nice, not typical Chelsea The hotel has no lift and you have to go up stairs The room is very small and bad. No light in the bed. The heating has a pipe that if you touch you get burnt The quality of the furniture is bad The tv is far from sight level Receptionist not so good Very expensive for the bad hotel and area It does not correspond with the picures they show online
When I arrived at the hotel, I knew the layout because of pics I had seen but was apprehensive because of a few of the reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised by spotless and beautiful rooms. The staff was very accommodating and I was relieved that my week’s stay was going to go well. My only hiccup was the WiFi which made it difficult for my video conferencing. Otherwise, I would definitely have given it a 5. I stayed on the first floor and could hear the goings and comings while awake, but was very tired at night so it didn’t affect my rest.
