The Holiday Inn NYC Times Square captivates guests with its clean environment and thoughtful touches, although some have concerns over the room layouts. The hotel's cleanliness earns high marks, particularly for spotless rooms and bathrooms. Opinions on service vary, with accolades for the staff's friendliness contrasting with notes of occasional slow service.
While the beds are comfortable, the compact nature of rooms and storage is a recurring point of contention. Travelers are divided on the hotel's value and amenities, with some dissatisfaction over costs and space. Nonetheless, its central location near key attractions is a consistent highlight, despite some noise and local social issues.

I was in NYC for a business trip. I stayed two nights. This location was nice, clean, and safe.
I must compliment the staff. Every staff member I had contact with was both nice and helpful.
The hotel has reasonable safety protocols to ensure guests are as safe as possible.
The property is in the heart of Times Square and is an easy walk to countless restaurants and activities.

Stayed here for 6 nights, v good location. All the staff were great and very friendly, views across the city brilliant from our top floor room which was well worth the small extra cost. The bar and restaurant attached, rattle and hum, serves good food and has an amazing range of beers with great service.
Would def stay again.
Only downsides, v minor.
Not enough hooks in room for coats, towels etc.
Difficult to use taxi drop-off in rush hour with lots of bags. Get your driver to pull of the avenue to the side street.
Allow plenty of time for lift!
Everything a bit tired, could do with a good refurb but everything else more than made up for that.

This hotel was great value for us.
The midtown location is an ideal base to be able to walk to many major NYC attractions. Times Square is less than a 5 min walk away and subway stations are very near to get to places not within walking distance. We were on the 34th floor and had an absolutely stunning view of the Empire State Building. We couldn’t believe it! I travelled with my mum and we had two double beds in the room. The beds were really comfortable. There wasn’t much storage space to be honest, the wardrobe didn’t have much hanging room. We kept most of our clothes in our cases and just got out what we needed each day. The bathroom had a decent shower and sink area but true to NYC the hotel room was quite small. It didn’t bother us, we were barely in the room it was a base for us for showering and sleeping. Housekeeping was by request only (down to Covid apparently). We were there 4 nights so we didn’t particularly miss this, we made our own beds and requested towels and coffee pods when we needed them. 3 out of 4 mornings we were up and out before 8.30am and therefore missed the queues for the lifts. We did experience this on our last morning - we were waiting for probably 20 mins which many people who we’d met in reception said was the norm from 9am so you either need to be prepared to wait or get up earlier or much later or walk down the stairs. There are two small lifts servicing 37 floors so it’s not surprising really. All in all for the money this was a perfect adequate stay, if you are wanting luxury and finesse then this probably isn’t the place for you.
The benches outside the hotel also attract some colourful characters. We never had any trouble from anyone but let’s just say that the smell of cannabis as you sometimes walk in and out of the hotel is pretty noticeable! We got a great deal on this through Hotels.com and for what we paid we can’t complain.

Stayed here 1 night by Christmas due to having an expiring IHG free night certificate and looking for a hotel that had rooms that fit 4 ( vs most in NY that fit 2). This hotel is super convenient to everything in midtown, and easily walkable to MSG, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc. The room itself, while tiny (as expected as it is Manhattan), was relatively new and well taken care of. However, I didn't like that while it is a room for 4 people, they only left 2 bath towels (and no floor towel). In addition, the amount of soap/shampoo/conditioner left for a family of 4 was laughable. In addition, something of note is this hotel only has 2 elevators for 36 floors. Yes, there are times that will not be an issue, but I'd take extra time when checking out as anyone on a lower floor had no way to get to an elevator that was not full. In addition, the hotel asks for riders on the elevator to stay 6 feet away from others due to Covid, but that is next to impossible when there are only 2 elevators. Every elevator we took was packed full. Also, the area near the hotel does have a lot of garbage/homeless nearby, so expect that when staying there. All in all it's a convenient place to stay, but that's about it.

Booked holiday in for our trip to NYC , the location was brilliant close to subway etc. The room was quite dark and small but fine for what we needed. Room was clean and bed was super comfy best thing about it. Breakfast was great that we didnt need to go out but when busy hard to get seat so go early to get a table. Would stay here again we had a high up room so noise was very low.

What we liked:
We loved the amazing view from our room in the 34th floor. I highly recommend booking a room with a view in this hotel. The additional $20 was worth it! The room was very clean. The bathroom had lots of space. Location was walking distance to the subway and Times Square. Staffs were great.
What we did not like:
Elevator was so slow. Room was small (may not fit more than 2 people with big luggages). I just wished they have additional bars or hooks to hang towels and leave extra soaps and shampoos (they only gave us 1 soap bar). No everyday housekeeping but you can request for cleaning or new towels and soaps. The front of the hotel is a public seating area where it could get crowded.

The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable but very small. I completely understand that rooms in NYC are small because space is such a premium however be prepared for this. We were tripping over ourselves!
The staff were generally helpful and pleasant. The elevator was frustratingly slow.
The hotel is easy walking distance to Times Square and is surrounded by restaurants and bars so it’s well located as long as you’re prepared for the area to be very busy, especially at night. It’s pretty quiet although you do get some street noise, even on the upper floors.
We had a lovely Manhattan view from our room.
The hotel is fine but it’s not great. Unfortunately you just don’t get a lot for your money in NYC.

We anticipated parking our high top van to be a nightmare in Manhattan which is why we called and spoke with a representative of Holiday Inn to confirm if they could accommodate our van. She placed us on hold, called the hotel then ensured us they could fit our 9’5” tall van AND it was included in our room rate. Upon arrival we were informed the parking was not included in our rate, we then discovered they couldn’t even fit our van. We spent two hours attempting to find parking for our van before giving up and cancelling our stay in New York all together. Considering we discontinued organising parking for our van because we were told we’d have no problem we were incredibly frustrated and sad to waste a whole evening and have it impact our whole stay in New York. I rarely ever leave reviews but this ruined our entire New York stay. The lady handling our situation at the reception desk was very helpful and co-operative cancelling our booking but at the end of the day it still ruined our New York stay. Very disappointed.

Thank You Sierrapb, for your stay with us. We do apologize you was communicated with false information. We did do further investigation to learn that you spoke with reservation department. Reservation department is not on premises and does not have information about our parking relations. No hotels in New York City have parking included with the rate as the parking garage is not the hotels, it is just a separate company which we are affiliated with. Also the parking has their own rules as to what kind of vehicles they accept in their premises. We hope to have you again with us in a nearby future. Please know that your feedback is extremely valuable to us. We use feedback, such as yours, to continuously make changes to our brand to improve the guest experience. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you again in the future.

I was looking forward to my trip to NYC and staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, the work conference that I was planning on attending was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. When I called this hotel to cancel my reservations, 20 days prior to the planned stay,I was told I could not get a refund! On this hotel's website, they claim that their main concern is the well-being of their customers, but it seems like they are more concerned about the money they could lose, rather than the lives that could be potentially lost due to the spread of the virus! They also posted that if people are traveling from out of the country, they will be fully refunded with no penalties..too bad they are not concerned about citizens travelling within the USA! I have called the hotel directly, multiple time, each time being told that I need to speak to the manager, but when my call is transferred, I only get a voicemail. I have left multiple messages in the last four days, with NO return call from management! I now also see that rooms are less than half price for each of the 5 nights I booked, so not only are they refusing to give me a refund, they are making me pay twice as much for a stay that is impossible to make. With such poor customer service, I definitely know that I will never be staying at another Holiday Inn.

Don’t think so
I’m sure it is. Just be sure it’s properly labeled with your name on it, and might be good to inform front desk of estimated delivery date.
I do recall a police van outside at most times. I do not think it is there at all times. The area is safe though. Police are on foot in the streets at night.
yes there are.
