Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.

Welcomed to the Big Apple with a hot apple cider, our check-in was smooth, speedy and even came with an upgrade to a larger room – and all despite the fact that we were two hours early. After finishing off our ciders in the gorgeous cafe on the 14th floor (a place from which we

I love the lower east side and this hotel. Near Katz Deli. Beware of a slightly see through shower if staying with just friends. You have to take the elevator up to reception before checking in but a doorman will make sure you know where you are going.

The hotel is right in the heart of my favorite part of town, so that’s clearly a plus. However, there was water damage in our room under the windows, toe nails on the floor and some of the staff (not all, because some were very nice) was very unfriendly. Yes, I’d stay here

Dear dannyweiss10, Thank you for your feedback and for choosing Hotel Indigo LES! I do apologize for the inconvenience experienced, I was the one who you came to about the room deficiency. Of course, we may always deep clean the room in the future should you wish or accommodate you in an alternate accommodation. What you experienced is certainly not up to the standard we are known for providing, and we'd love the chance to restore your faith in us! I do hope you enjoyed the apology token we sent to the room, and please reach out when you are in town next so we may ensure a seamless next experience. Warm Regards, Daniel Farley Asst. I have usually stayed further up Manhattan than the Lower East Side so this more gritty side to New York was a change and I was glad I did. This hotel is not in one of the most preposessing glitzy streets in Manhattan but is typical LES. The entrance might be easy to miss. The

The best is yellow cab with a fixed charge of $52 plus 40cents per bag. Typically one hour, but dependant on traffic. Just walk 50 yards to East Houston and wave one down. Avoid trying at 3:00pm as drivers are reluctant to stop, because taxi driver shifts change at 4:00pm. Cheapest is the MTA Subway from Essex ST/Delancey station to Sutphin Blvd/Archer Avenue, Brooklyn (J or Z line)then the Skytrain from the shared Jamaica Station into JFK. Stairs down into Essex Street, no esclators so not good if you have heavy luggage. Cost of two trips $ 2:50 plus $5:00.

You can take the train which is the cheapest or you order a Lyft (usual cheaper than Uber). As well the hotel can organize a taxi for a flat fee of approx $50 or $55. Hope that helps. Have fun!

"There are great views on the west side of the building – you pay extra, but it's worth it!"
"If you would like a view of a certain part of the city, ask to have a room with that view upon check-in."
"If you can, try to book a room above the 14th floor--the view is well worth it."
"Talk to the front desk about the floors and the views."
"Floor 16 is slightly noisier than other floors due to being above bar."
