Detailed Reviews
I stayed at The Cambria with my husband and 2 daughters 23 & 25 the first week in Dec.The hotel is in a great location, just a 10 min walk to Macys. We had 2 dble beds which were very comfortable. The bathroom is small but the shower itself is large and there was plenty of hot water, there is also a good hairdryer and a coffee maker and fridge. We were on a trip for my husbands bday and we were delighted to see a welcome/bday card and a bottle of wine in our room. Anne Marie knew we were Irish and had arranged a kettle,Barrys tea and biscuits for us,which I was thrilled with as I had forgotten to pack tea bags and it was very thoughtfull of her. The hotel was very clean and comfortable,we didnt eat there so cant comment on that. Our room faced the street, there was minimal street noise and minimal noise from the adjoining rooms. I would recommend this hotel for location, price, cleanliness and comfort.

This hotel has everything I needed and a little more, and is excellent value for the price point. I requested a quiet room and the staff gave me one that was totally silent. The staff is always available by text as well as calling.
*Minor cons: lighting in room could be improved as well as shower water pressure and soap dispenser cleanliness. Awkward lobby and hallway layout. Utilitarian furnishings (but comfortable!)
*Pros: very comfortable beds, hugely spacious rooms for the price, desk/chair setup good for getting work done.
If you want a room in the city for 100 on a winter weekday/150 on a winter weekend, this place would be hard to beat!

We arrived a bit early for our 24 hour stay, and we were pleasantly surprised that not only were we allowed to check-in early, but the hotel had upgraded us to their one and only suite on the top floor. Although the furniture (desk, and table) was in dire need of upgrading, the room was clean, and comfortable. The balcony was a wonderful addition to our stay as we enjoyed taking pictures of the night skyline. The employees at the front desk, and the bar were accommodating, and polite. We were even sent personal, responsive texts from management to be sure our stay was comfortable. The Chelsea neighborhood in general is beautiful, and the hotel is located in a convenient location close to the subway, restaurants, the Chelsea Market, shopping, and Madison Square Garden/Penn Station. Thank you to the staff at the Cambria for going the extra mile. We will definitely be back to stay at the Cambria Chelsea.

Recently, my gal pal and I took a girls trip to hang out in NYC. We chose the Cambria in Chelsea for its central location. The property itself was clean and inviting. The staff was excellent! One of my favorite perks was about 20 minutes after check in I received a text on my phone from the front desk asking if everything was in order and if I needed anything. I thought that was awesome. They were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. The room was "NYC small", but it was extremely clean and comfortable, and did not feel cramped. I also loved that this hotel is located right in the middle of the Flower District. So, walking up and down the street was very "Hallmark"ish. Great local food everywhere! I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed in many NYC hotels over the past thirty years, but this one was the best: huge room, huge shower, huge TV, king bed, refrigerator and microwave. I was on the 13th floor with floor- to- ceiling windows facing the street.
They had a special rate for this room which normally would have cost hundreds of dollars more. It is in the flower district, so the sidewalks are narrowed by pots of greenery for sale... giving off a pleasant aroma as you walk down the street.
All the the staff were pleasant morning, afternoon, and evening, and I was comfortable with their security measures. The restaurant and rooftop bar were closed in compliance with covid directives. I hope to avail myself of these on a future stay.

I came to the city for an overnight stay with 2 girlfriends for my 40th birthday. Our stay at The Cambria was fine until we returned after check out to grab our luggage and were told we were being charged the $100 deposit because we smoked in our room. My friend reacted first saying we didn’t smoke in the room and the man that cleaned the room replied with “Don’t tell me you didn’t, I cleaned the room”. It’s very frustrating to be told you did something that you didn’t do. He says he found a bottle cap with ashes in the room. I don’t know about any of that. I asked if he took a picture and he didn’t. I do know we stayed 1 floor under the rooftop lounge so that’s where the smoking happened. We had marijuana in the room. I have a medical card because I had cancer last year. There’s a difference between smelling weed in a bag and then smelling it after it was smoked. This is clearly a problem with this hotel too because I read reviews from others saying it smelt like someone was smoking in their room. What was more upsetting than the accusation and the charge was the manager was drinking a glass of wine at the edge of the front desk at 3 in the afternoon, came around the desk and said “ when he told me about charging you for smoking I said I didn’t want to stereotype you girls” First of all....no one should ever say that, especially working in NYC, but she was an adult, blonde haired, white women just like myself and friends. We look a lot like her so I’m confused by that statement completely. It was also highly inappropriate. I understand businesses are hurting due to Covid (the place was completely dead) but that doesn’t give the right to charge people for extras and ruin a birthday.

Dear C8604TQlarissar, We are committed to providing our guests and associates with a smoke-free environment. All associates have been trained to respond to potential violations of the policy. Guests are reminded at the time of booking and upon arrival at the hotel that smoking is not permitted inside the building. There is a significant room recovery fee for guests who do not comply to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms to a smoke-free condition. I'm sorry for any frustration this has caused you, but we are committed to ensuring a smoke-free environment for every guest. Sincerely, Michelle Giovanni General Manager

My family arrived here for a quick visit to Manhattan. We were greeted by a super friendly front desk person. There had been an issue with our reservation, they were out of rooms with 2 Queens, but he swiftly and professionally offered us 2 adjoining rooms for the same price.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The floors were laminate which I always prefer since they are easier to clean than carpet.
We ate at their restaurant, at 10 at night and the food was fantastic! And the restaurant server was super friendly and attentive.
When we checked out, they gladly stored our luggage, gave us info about our airport hotel and helped us figure out our airport hotel arrangements.
We loved the location. 20 minute walk to time square. Its in the flower district and was lovely to see all the flowers in the morning.
My only negative comment is that there seemed to be something going on with the garbage, there were huge piles of garbage bags lining the streets. It was picked up after a couple days, but whoever picked it up left all kinds of trash in the street and along the sidewalk. I’m assuming this wasn’t the hotel’s issue though.

This was our first trip to New York City, and to be honest I was a little worried about the hotels in the city because of stories I had heard. Well I was worried for nothing. Our flight came in very early in the morning and the Cambria Chelsea was nice enough to hold our luggage for a family of three behind the front desk until a room was available. When we did get our room we were very happy. It was clean, the bed was awesome, and it had a great view. There were a few things we needed help with but Terquore was happy to help in getting us an extra set of towels, linens for the pullout bed, and fixing our television. All of this happened fast. I know some people can be miffed when they don’t get maid service everyday ( here it is every 3rd day) but all you have to do is request garbage pick up, fresh towels, etc.
The hotel is right in the mix of everything but you can hear anything when trying to rest.
Also, it was easy to walk to places or catch a cab. We found cabs to be much cheaper than Uber. Especially from the airport compared to our friends who took Uber we paid half of what they did.
Overall our stay was wonderful and when we come back to the city, this is where we will stay!
Also, I felt safe in the neighborhood walking alone during the day to shops without my husband.

Where to begin.....We booked 11nights at @cambriachelsea and from the moment we checked in, we have found the property to be exceptionally clean, centrally located (surrounded by beautiful flower shops) with exceptional staff focused on providing amazing customer service. We eloped during our stay and when we returned the staff surprised us with a cheese platter, decorated our bed and left us a lovely note. A very special thanks to Melissa, Johanna, Albino and Brian. Don't be surprised if you get a lot more Aussies as we will be recommending your wonderful property. We will be sad to check out Sunday but eager to return home to Australia. #nyc #cambriachelsea #bestnychotels #chelsea #aussiesinnyc #honeymoon #exceptionalcustomerservice

I brought my kids for a quick vacation and it was the first trip to New York for half of us. Sherwin and Angel helped us check in and gave us a room with a spectacular view. The location was central to many of the items on our agenda, several of which were within walking distance. The subway is at the end of the block, which was a huge plus, and the sidewalk is filled with colorful flowers for sale during the day. We absolutely LOVED the rooftop bar, which is kid-friendly and open 24 hours a day (not sure what hours they keep it staffed though). The room was clean and spacious for a room in NYC. The fridge and microwave were also much appreciated. The bathroom is a tight space and might require some creativity if you have more than one person in the room who needs to take care of hair and makeup. When we got back to the hotel each night, Sydney always asked how our adventures went. She made some great suggestions for things to do that aren't on every tourist's list. Sydney and Imadi gave my 12 year old attention and were genuinely engaging when he told them about his day. They had a lot of patience with him, and he talks about them when he mentions the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a comfortable, clean room away from the typical tourist area but central enough to easily get anywhere in Manhattan. I am looking forward to staying there again next month and any time I visit NYC in the future.
