My husband and I just got back from a trip to New York in which we stayed at The Ludlow for six nights. We travel to NYC a few times a year, and this has been our favorite hotel by far! In fact, I have already booked another trip for this summer and I am staying at The Ludlow again.
The hotel is a class act. When we walked into the hotel, we were several hours early--the lobby was a crush of people leaving and arriving--but all of the staff and front desk folks were so friendly and upbeat--no one felt like an imposition. The desk was able to let several people into their rooms early, and they held the bags for the folks whose rooms needed some more time. That bright beginning set the tone for our entire stay!
Our room was a King Loft, and I loved that there were multiple rooms so that we could spread out a bit. It was nice in the morning to have my own little space to get ready, and when I drank too much coffee one afternoon and had trouble sleeping, I appreciated that I could go and read in the separate room without bothering my husband.
The room was absolutely SPOTLESS each day. We didn’t keep regular hours, but Housekeeping was able to accommodate our odd schedules and we always arrived home to a refreshed and happy room. I liked that you could open the windows a bit and get fresh air if you wanted. One of my favorite things about the room was the LUXURIOUS bathtub--it was HUGE and comfortable. The hotel even left little bath salts each day which were nice to take a soak after a long day of traipsing around the city. Any time that we called the front desk and asked for anything, it was in our room within minutes--this was true for both a kettle and pillows.
We only ate at Dirty French once while we were there, for breakfast, but we liked it. The service was extremely friendly. There are so many delicious restaurants within the block, though, I didn’t really want to limit myself to the hotel. Two particular standouts for me were the chai latte at BBF, and everything that we ate at Gazab. Oh! And the bagels at Heaven’s Hot Bagel!!!
Back to the hotel--the seated part of the lobby area can get to be really hopping--especially at night. The hotel does reserve many tables for guests of the hotel, but I am sure that folks who are there for a drink or there from Dirty French are also welcome. That’s not really my scene, but I didn’t hear any extra noise from it when we were in our room. Our room was on the 4th floor, and I really liked it. Next time I do think that I will ask for a higher floor because you get a little bit of street noise--but it’s NY, so that is to be expected!
Finally, I have to give a huge shout-out to Joe, one of the managers. He helped me to navigate some issues for an upcoming trip, and he really went out of his way to make sure that I was able to get the help that I needed. Such a great experience, and I am excited to visit here again and again!

We were staying in New York for 9 nights, and having done the tourist thing in the past we wanted to stay somewhere different …. After lots of research we decided on the Lower East Side and this hotel seemed ideal … we were not disappointed. I was initially worried we would be a bit remote but you are very handy for several subway lines and can be in all areas of the city very easily - but you are far enough from the centre to get a much different (and in my opinion better experience of New York). Check in was quick and friendly, and having spotted a lovely open fire and bar on our way to our room we were sitting having a beautiful glass of wine 10 mins after checking in! I was also concerned before arriving about the room size, and yes it’s cosy but it is gorgeous…. Absolutely beautiful. So bright and clean and had everything we could want, including an incredible view of the Empire Stare building and Freedom Tower, I would stay here again in a second. We didn’t eat in Dirty French because there were just too many other options around, but all the food we saw looked lovely and the restaurant always had a great atmosphere. We did however enjoy relaxing in the bar, staff were so friendly and drinks were great. We would really suggest asking the staff where they recommend locally, as we got directly ( and overheard) some great suggestions, most of which we tried and loved. Much of the experience for us was the local area and I want to share some of our favourite places ….. just next door Ludlow Street Coffee for morning drinks and pastries, Russ and Daughters cafe (go early and out your name in the list!), Subject cocktail bar (don’t have too many) and enjoy classic movies (book in advance just in case), Heavenly Hot Bagels (just great breakfast!), Death & Company for cocktails (you can’t book, so we turned up just after opening), Restaurant Claud (a new place which I found before we travelled, you need to book in advance but it is just brilliant food/wine/service) and finally for a cosy excellent Italian meal, book a table across the street in Taverna di Bacco, you will love it! In summary, a perfect, clean and cosy hotel in a brilliant area of New York - do not hesitate…… book it!! Thank-you Ludlow and Lower East Side, we will be back!!!

The Ludlow has a great vibe, solid service, and nice details. The rooms are small but well furnished although the low ceiling and too much furniture in ours made it feel really claustrophobic. We loved the shower, the towels, and the sheets.
We barely spoke to a staff member during our 2-night stay which was actually alright with us because they seemed to value our privacy and left us alone, but others might now appreciate it. Also the LES feels kind of frat-party these days but if you don't mind that, the location is convenient to Soho, the East Village, and a bunch of subway lines to get you where you need to go. The coffee place next door is great.
This wasn't my best stay but I will certainly come back again because there's a lot to like at the Ludlow.

Just perfect. Omar was especially kind and attentive during a stay. We arrived early and he held our bags while we ate lunch before the room was ready. They texted us to let us know when it was ready and had already placed our bags in the room, along with some flowers I’d had delivered for my spouse. The room was lovely with nice decorative touches and spectacular views of the LES. You might see Spider-Man jumping across the rooftops below. You’ll get amazing photos from the rooftop patio and the fitness center has really nice equipment and was never crowded. The lobby bar is trendy and cozy (you won’t be sorry if you order the Espresso Martini) and the staff was great. Room service from Dirty French was outstanding. Get the pomme frites. The roasted half chicken and the chick club were also great. Storage space in the room is limited, but the hotel will gladly store any bulky items in their bell room, and suitcases fit easily under the bed with room to spare. There are also lots of coat hooks and deep window sills. It’s perfect for a long weekend in the city. The neighborhood was fun. It’s a gritty city feel, yet we felt perfectly safe walking about during the day and even in the evenings. Use common sense. It’s a big city and dark side streets are probably best left alone in the middle of the night. The bars and restaurants are easy to get to without going down sketchy alleys. Go. Have fun. You won’t regret it.

I picked this place off Trip Advisor not knowing anything about it and it was FABULOUS! My girlfriend and I were staying there over the Christmas holiday. the sitting area just past the reception desk was really warm and inviting (with fireplace) and you could get meals brought to you there as well as drinks. It felt like I had always stayed there. We sat and read there for hours. The best thing about it though was the staff. They were personal, not impersonal. They were helpful (we needed ice bags for a fall and then bags to carry all our purchases home in) but not overly solicitous. It felt like they really liked working there dealing with guests and it turns out most of them have been there for 10+ years. I wish the rooms were bigger, but, hey, we did not order a suite and this is NYC. We did have a gigantic bathtub!

The Ludlow truly has it all - charm, atmosphere, vibrance, and the best soaking tubs you could ask for. It's clean in a way that hotels don't often feel, and the people who work there are kind, attentive, and genuine in their actions. Every time my wife and I stay there, we go away feeling like the queens we are. They understand hospitality at The Ludlow, from the Dirty French with THE best breakfast options to the stunning and relaxing rooms. I already mentioned those tubs; I do again because I take at least three baths when we visit. If you're considering The Ludlow as your accommodations, here's your sign from the universe. Book it!

The best way to relax in luxury in the Lower East Side. The skybox loft was a gorgeous room and the most beautiful sunrise and sunset views. The bed was the perfect amount of soft and hard, I slept like a baby. The bathroom was the real cream de la cream, you felt like you were bathing in Versailles! We visited for my bachelorette weekend and it was the best choice we could have made with superior room service, the Dirty French restaurant or lounge bar.

We had an excellent one night stay at The Ludlow and will be sure to return back on our next trip to NY.
The Staff; it goes without saying that every employee we encountered, from those at the front desk to the housekeepers to the bartender, were all kind, friendly and willing to help us when need be. They accommodated our late check out request immediately and were happy to do so.
The hotel: The lobby/lounge area, with its roaring fireplace and comfy couches is a perfect place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee and bagel or your pre dinner drinks from the Dirty French bar. I do wish the bar was opened a bit later, it would be great to come back to the hotel and have a late nightcap! The rooftop is a must see as well, awesome views of the surrounding city, with some tables and chairs to hang out at with a cold beverage. Our room (Loft Queen) was well appointed and comfortable. We were on the sixth floor and got a good amount of natural light through both the bedroom and bathroom windows. The bathroom itself was one of the best parts of the room, with a the large shower and tub (which is right next to a window with a view) . The bed was comfy and the shades will darken the room plenty if sleeping in is your thing.
Overall, this is a comfy hotel with great views, a very friendly staff, and an overall relaxed and chilled vibe. I think we may have found our favorite hotel in NY!

I stayed at the Ludlow for the first time in January and was blown away. The location is within walking distance of great nightlife and also close to several trains if you need to travel elsewhere in the city (getting to Brooklyn is especially easy). The room itself (studio queen) was perfect for me as a solo traveler—it felt luxurious and had all the amenities I needed. Unlike many hotels I've stayed at in NYC, there was no train/street noise and I slept extremely well. The bathroom was also especially nice and housekeeping did a great job during my stay. Finally, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even letting me stow my bags with them for a few hours after my check-out.
Highly recommend staying here during your next NYC visit!

Great location on the LES. Staff was professional and friendly and available for whatever your needed. The room was spacious with a balcony. But that space and ambiance comes with a hefty price. $1000 per night in almost every other city would come with a more spacious room with more amenities. But this is NYC and we did not want to stay in a typical tiny room. To be able to dine outside on the balcony was a bonus. Overall, a nice hotel with a great staff.

Unfortunately I do not know what you are referring to in regards to the $75 charge. Sure they have wine and etc list . But if you want the romantic effect like in photos I’ve advised that it was done by myself and my boyfriend NOT the hotel!!!
There are more places to choose from in the New York City area.
