Detailed Reviews

The hotel is very central, you can easily reach many things on foot. The metro station is only max. 5 minutes away.
Time Square is about a 25-minute walk away.
In the immediate vicinity there are banks, a diner, a shop for shopping, Five Guys, McDonalds, bakery, ....
There is a pool, which was too cold for me, but I am also quite sensitive there. Unfortunately, there is no Jacuzzi, but there would be room for one. Here the hotel might consider building one, I think that would really pay off. There's a hammam that's really nice. The Hammam was my son's absolute favorite. Also a fitness center is available with really good equipment, not large but really sufficient. The savings area is virtually empty. You could also get a massage in the hotel, but these are very high prices. The spa area might have a little more attention to detail, it seems a bit bald and unpleasant. There are 2 people working in the spa area, sometimes even 3 people who have absolutely nothing to do. The pool, especially the floor, would have to be renovated, the floor lacks tiles, there is a risk of cutting itself. The hotel is very clean, the corridors are kept rather dark inside. We got a different room at check in than originally agreed, but this was exchanged immediately, there were no problems at all. You get two small bottles of water per person on the day of arrival and really only on the day of arrival, after that you would have to pay $3.50 per bottle. Here I actually expect scon from a 5 star hotel to get two bottles a day. Breakfast we were not in the hotel, but you could.
The hotel has a rooftop bar, which apart from fairly high prices, which are normal for NY, has superb views (directly of the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building).
Wireless internet in the hotel is not extra chargeable.
The room itself was very spacious with a kitchenette and also a balcony in the 14th floor. Stock. If we needed something, such as extra clothes hooks, we got them immediately. You always had to remember certain things (new soap, spare toilet roll, new kitchen roll), but you got it in no time.
Brief summary:
The hotel is in a good location, but I would not give the house 5 stars, rather 4.
The hotel would do quite a lot of good to renovate.
Had we not necessarily wanted a steam chamber and a pool at a reasonably affordable price, I would probably have chosen a different hotel.

Hotel's Favorite
I've stayed at this hotel many times - I probably know the rooms better than some of their own staff. Do some rooms have minor quirks? Yes. But overall, this is a well maintained, and very comfortable hotel that is kept immaculately clean. Even the smallest of the rooms in this hotel are significantly more spacious than many typical comparable hotels in Manhattan. The front desk people are great, and treat me like a member of the family when I check in.

The location of the hotel is excellent and within walking distance to many markets and restaurants. There is also subway 6 right at the exit. Everything that will make you feel at home has been considered in the rooms, and the staff who come to clean regularly every day makes your room spotless and provides you with clean towels every day. It’s not just comfortable rooms but also you can have pleasant time in hotel. For a beautiful evening, you can have your drinks while enjoying the New York view on the roof. They also have a fitness center and spa with a Turkish bath.
There is literally nothing to comment negatively on! Special thanks to the always friendly and courteous staff, especially the manager Mr. Ege, who helped us in every way.

During our recent stay at the Maramara Park Ave Hotel, we encountered a stay that was as intriguing as it was unique. The hotel's distinct ambiance, characterized by moody, dimly lit hallways and rooms, imparted a particular atmosphere that, while captivating for some, might not entirely align with everyone's tastes. One noteworthy issue we faced was a light out over the closet, which created a visibility challenge. Though we reported it, the solution came in the form of lamps rather than a light bulb replacement.
The room's temperature controls presented their own quirk, seemingly adhering to a consistent temperature of around 69 degrees, regardless of our adjustments for heating or cooling. Nonetheless, the hotel's location close to the subway was undeniably convenient, although it's vital to mention that the nearby food pantry attracted a lot of displaced individuals, leading to their occasional presence around the building. Additionally, on the day we checked out, one of the elevators was unfortunately out of service, causing a bit of a bottleneck.
In terms of rating, the Maramara Park Ave Hotel seems to sit comfortably within the realm of a 3-star experience, not quite reaching the pinnacle of a full 5-star establishment.
Despite these nuances, the hotel's rooms were a breath of fresh air—spacious, comfortable, and perfect for unwinding. The darker ambiance might not suit everyone, but for those who appreciate a cozier setting and prioritize a conveniently located stay, it offers a unique charm.
One distinctive touch we encountered was the pervasive scent of bergamot throughout the hotel. While some might find it pleasant, I personally found it a touch overpowering, especially as it extended to the soaps and lotions provided.
Overall, the Maramara Park Ave Hotel offers an experience tailored to those who appreciate its specific atmosphere, convenient location, and unique scent. It's an excellent choice for those seeking something a bit different, but perhaps not the best fit for those desiring a more traditional or versatile accommodation experience.

Let me start off by saying we were really looking forward to this stay and we’re expecting a luxury hotel with great service. This was a 2 adult and 2 children trip.
Upon our arrival everything started off okay but it seemed that every question we asked was an annoyance to the front staff.
Our reservation was for a 1 bedroom suite with a balcony, the room was okay but upon arrival I noticed one of the AC units was set to 60 degrees yet the room felt like 90. So we called up and explained to them what was going on. We offered to switch rooms and they stated that someone would come up to fix it. The maintenance specialist came up and told us everything was fixed, sure enough the room did start to get cold. We left for dinner.
When we came back around 9:30 to find the AC down again. So we called back down and at this point demanded we get moved before our kids go to sleep. We were offered two other rooms but without balconies or the view we paid for. We declined since they fixed the AC again but stated we would not be continuing our stay with them due to the fact they knew we had two young children and did not want to be moving at 10:30 at night we two tired 3 year olds.
My husband spoke to the night manager and he stated there was nothing more he could do for us and if we felt like we needed to check out right now that would be up to us.
We ended up staying the night and sure enough the AC went down for a 3rd time at around 2 am. My husband ended up on the couch with one of the kids and we suffered the night in the bedroom.
We spoke to the manager Diane, as we were checking out and we explained to her how terrible the experience was. She stated she would cancel tonight for us but there was nothing she could do about the previous because they offered us a new room even though it was not comparable to what we paid for. We paid for the night and I told we we would be speaking to the GM to which she said okay.
The one positive highlight that made this a 2 star instead of 0 were the bar tenders that were extremely hospitable and made great cocktails.
I rarely leave reviews but this was an experience that I felt everyone should hear before booking this hotels. There are a ton of hotels in NYC and no one needs to experience service like no matter what the budget for the trip.
Hope this helps!

I happened upon this hotel, through the recommendation of a friend (he made several suggestions in trying to help me identify a hotel for my stay in NYC). I really wanted to have a fridge & microwave in my room and this is not an easy thing to find in NYC unless one pays top dollar. I was hesitant at first, because it isn't located in an area I was looking. It's on the east side, Murray Hill.
Literally from the first phone call I made to the moment I checked out, every single one of the people who work at this establishment were professional, kind, helpful & so, so friendly. I cannot say enough about the level of their professionalism & service; both those who are the face of the hotel in reception, etc. and those in the reservations office. Before checking in, I was given a little tour, on request. I was given literally every single thing I asked for during my stay (extra coffee for the Nespresso machine in the room, for eg!). Nothing was too much of an ask! And they managed to maintain this level of service throughout my stay, which was 12 nights in total, with a short break in between. I even requested the same room on my three-night return and they obliged.
The hotel itself is stylish and has a "boutique" feel. There's gentle, calming music in the lobby. The restaurant is in the lobby too, but slightly "hidden" around a corner, so there isn't a busy feel to it. There is lounge-type seating on one side of the lobby and tables/ chairs for the restaurant, on the other. So one has a plethora of choices of where to chill, should one not want to be in the room or on the streets. Their roof top bar has gorgeous views & excellent service. My room had a balcony and was so much larger than anything else I've seen anywhere, far less in NYC. Much to my surprise for a NYC hotel, it was also really quiet.
Lastly, the hotel has a wellness centre in it's basement. Besides massage services (at a cost, obviously), there is a gym, a hammam and slightly heated, SALT WATER(!!!) pool that is just glorious.
I was so glad that I got over my desire to be in a different neighbourhood of the city, because I loved this hotel so very much and will definitely return. I got used to that side of town pretty quickly. It also helps that the number 6 train (that runs all along the east side of the city) is a half a block from the hotel's front door! And there are buses on every avenue on either side of the hotel. As one who loves Indian food, "Little India" is three blocks away, where one has an endless number of restaurant choices at the most reasonable costs. Of course, there are other cuisines and restaurants in the area too, all within a few blocks

I stayed here for a week in November. I'd previously stayed a couple of times and really enjoyed it. There were a lot of flight delays this time so by the time I arrived at midnight, I'd been travelling for about 28 hours. The man who checked me in was not friendly. I was given a room that was very small with no wet bar. I went back to reception to ask if I could have a different room and also about the request I had emailed asking if some milk could be put in the refrigerator, prior to my arrival. He advised that there were no other rooms available at present and with regards to my simple milk request that it was their job to just check people in and out. He said, the emails sent to the concierge address go to reception and they don't have time to reply to emails "all day long". Anyway he said, the kitchen won't provide milk to a guest. I would have appreciated a reply advising that. I do wonder why they encourage you to contact their "concierge" with any requests if they're not going to bother to reply or if its such a big deal to action those requests. What did upset me was that I had to return to reception from the lift because one of the cards wasn't coded and I walked back in to hear the same man complaining to the doorman about how annoying guests can be.
Fortunately a room became available the next morning and I was moved to that room, I very much appreciated this. The room was nice but facing the front so a bit more noisy than previous stays but its New York so noise is to be expected. Mayerly often is mentioned in reviews and I can see why. She organised a late check out for me which was great and she is so pleasant and professional. All other staff, especially housekeeping were lovely to talk to.
I'm not sure whether I'd stay here again for a while. I might choose a hotel a bit closer to the west side next time, just to avoid the subway at night which definitely feels less safe from many previous visits.

Love staying here. Location is fairly easy to uptown museums, downtown restaurants - and is far enough out of the busier parts of midtown to avoid crowds. Still walkable to Penn Station which is nice. Free upgrade was really nice (laundry machines and kitchenette). Thank you!

Unfortunately having to leave a bad review for this hotel. I had booked this through work via a booking system and it was fully paid. When I arrived they refused to accept my work E-credit card for security (provided by the booking company partner we use) and wanted full amount plus security to hold on my personal card or suggested I pay cash (absolutely not…. What a strange request to ask of someone?)
This wasn’t something I was prepared to do as I travel 30% of my time and every hotel has always accepted the booking card for security payment so I booked an Uber and went to the virgin hotel instead.
None of this information was visible on their website or policies when I went to view this and none of this information had been shared with myself or the booking provider in advance.
I wouldn’t stay here again and have suggested to our booking company to remove this hotel from their hotels that they are partnered with.

Chris, we truly regret the misunderstanding regarding the payment method at our hotel. We certainly don't want any guest to face such inconvenience at check-in. We routinely accept company-issued cards, and it seems something unusual happened in your case. Going forward, we'll ensure that any unique aspects of our payment policy are clearly communicated ahead of time. Your feedback is invaluable as we seek to improve the experiences of all guests. Nevertheless, we're disheartened to read that this situation may deter you from returning. If you ever reconsider, we genuinely hope to have the opportunity to provide the exceptional experience we're generally known for.

Beware of this hotel. They charge you $150 for early check-in even if you walk in early and they have a room available. That is - you're not asking for a guaranteed room, just happen to be in town a little earlier in the day. So if you're looking for some nice customer service on that front, go elsewhere.

I did not know how many rooms are in the hotel, but it has 21 floors.
The affiliate garage next door offers electric car charges. However, self-parking is not an option there.
