Once the curtains are closed you don’t hear any Times Square noise or lights and the bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom is clean and modern but has some design issues with the water leaking on to the floor afterwards and the water pressure is not good...but hey you’re in New York get over it!
The location is fantastic for walking and for the subway.
In all a great 9 night stay
When we checked in, Michelle had a warm smile and friendly disposition that my kids instantly felt connected to her. She was equally pleasant with all of the other guests that she spoke to, so we felt like we were houseguests. Throughout our 2 day visit, Michelle recognized us and addressed us by name (what a memory for faces!) and took care of simple comforts like water and snacks.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and safe. The location was so close to all of the action of Times Square. We could even see the New Year’s ball when we leaned against our window. We could hear minor city noise, of course, but heard nothing of other guests around us. We dined in the hotel restaurant for dinner on Saturday night and then again for breakfast buffet. The kids felt like we got the royal treatment with how kind and helpful the staff were.
We will DEFINITELY return to Hilton Garden Inn Times Square the next time we visit New York City.
My only notations were that we were missing a suitcase rack (guess I've gotten spoiled over time), but they did have an ironing board. I thought that Paul's menu (their restaurant) would be similar to what was listed on their room service offerings, but not the case. Figured we'd get a light lunch with a wrap and a small pizza for around $30. Average plate cost was around $23, ended up spending $50. I'll know to order room service next time! Breakfast is around $28/person and includes made to order eggs, pancakes, French toast and other offerings.
Regardless of the above, I still think they deserve 5 stars. Will definitely stay here again!
I love walking the neighborhoods of West Village, East Village, Upper East Side, and of course, the star of the show, Central Park. All the stories of NYC's energy are true.
Michelle provided a smiling and helpful check-in. She is above and beyond in service. Room 3408 has the windows for views of the city and river, a quick cool air conditioning system, powerful hot shower and a quiet small floor to allow any traveler rest. The refrigerator and microwave are convenient to use.
Added with the overall cleanliness and efficient elevators makes this a pleasant stay.
The hotel itself needs some updating, but it was clean and surprisingly quiet! The only complaint for me was that we were in room 608. It is just above a very large video monitor like you see all over Times Square. The changing light patterns crept thru the edges and top of the curtains all night long. It didn't bother my husband at all.
Again, the hotel needs updating and I found a sticker from a new face powder stuck to the bathroom cabinet, BUT it was otherwise clean with nice staff and a phenomenal location.
Breakfast was typical cook-to-order HGI. The bartender in the evening made a nice Manhattan, too!😉
