The Moxy NYC Lower East Side garners applause for its exceptional service and prime location, with the staff's attentiveness and the hotel's proximity to key attractions receiving high marks from guests. While the ambiance is described as trendy and vibrant, some guests note the loud music from the bars can be disruptive.
Rooms, although modern and clean, are considered cozy due to their compact size, with a lack of certain amenities noted. Travelers appreciate the clean environment and the value offered, despite mixed feelings about noise levels and the daily fee usage.

I travel to NYC for work often, always stay at the Moxy, and always have such a stellar experience that I figured it was well past time I leave them the review they deserve. The Lower East Side location has such a fun energy and the staff is always on point. The lobby has plenty of space to work with a cute cafe serving great coffee and small bites. The room was spotless with a super comfy bed and a shower that heats up fast with GREAT water pressure. I also love knowing there's always a steamer in the room so I don't have to bring one. The restaurant onsite, Sake No Hana, is SO good and there's a lounge that plays live music on the lobby level. It's such a great home base to come back to and there isn't a single other hotel at this price point that can even pretend to compete. I can't recommend it enough!

David from the front the desk was the nicest person ever! He helped us with everything even when the housekeeping service was not nice at all. At the breakfast cafe the girls Mirna, Marlen and Esther were so nice! Everyday with a smile and good predisposition. Also very great the security service, they received every package delivered to me. Joshua was the first person I contacted via email and his response was very nice and respectful. The only thing to improve is the cleaning service to be everyday, because if I didn’t want service everyday I would rent an apartment not a hotel, thats all.

We stayed five nights at the Moxy Lower East Side, a hotel chosen for its proximity to the emerging Bowery area and Soho. Very nice hotel, newly designed, very well attended for the presence of a trendy bar on the ground floor. Hall practically non-existent, entering here is already an experience, it does not even look like a hotel. The room booked was with city view but it turned out to be a bit scarce, I expected more. The room with two double beds is not as small as I feared. Despite the luggage the three of us were comfortable. There are no cabinets but only exposed hangers. Very large shower with dispenser (shampoo and conditioner), sink attached to the front door overlooking the room, but if you use it wake everyone up and this is a flaw. The room is still nice even if this new concept of open bathroom did not convince me. The hotel charges a daily fee of $30 (not cumulative) which includes, among others, a somewhat reduced and repetitive breakfast (coffee/tea, packaged muffins, juice and water, the latter always found sold out). The 30 usd can be spent at the bar at the entrance (not at the rooftop) for cocktails but only enough for two non-alcoholics, otherwise you go overboard and pay the difference. I would have preferred to have a more varied breakfast, of everything else included in the Resort fee I would have done without. Cleaning the room is done on request otherwise they do not. Would I go back to the Moxy? Yes, the area is really top and I think it is currently the best option around.

I don't understand the good reviews this place gets. I've been in hotels with small rooms before (Holiday Inn Express -- for example), but this isn't like that.
First off – beware! The hotel charges you a “Destination Fee”, which is a code word for a resort fee that you have to pay on arrival whether you need the “amenities” or not. The daily food and beverage credit is only for their own facilities and the main restaurant in the hotel is not included.
Then -- we got a ridiculously tiny room that was apparently standard. There was hardly room to turn around. Eventually I found a place to put our suitcase (luckily we packed light and only had one small one). There was no clothes closet or chest of drawers. i.e. nowhere to put clothes except under the bed. I found two tiny hooks next to, and almost hidden by, the TV so I asked for some coat hangers, which they did provide.
The “bathroom” had a shower and toilet – the washbasin was in the room about a foot from the bed. The bathroom sliding door closed so firmly that it was almost impossible to open from the inside. The shower had no grab bars or towel bars at all.
The light switches were inscrutable - none of them had backlights so turning on a light in the middle of the night was near impossible. There were no USB outlets in room.
There were reading spotlights that shone on the bed’s backboard, useless for reading.
On the good side, room was quiet and insulated from city noises and AC was good.
No onsite breakfast other than pastries.

The Moxy Lower East Side offers an affordable price point for small business people and tourists combined with a very chic hotel that maximizes every inch of space. Some of the rooms can feel very small but a quick ride down the elevator leads you to a very spacious lobby with lots of chairs and ample eating options from a small café to a bar to a sushi restaurant and it’s within walking distance of all the great Chinatown restaurants. The staff are wonderful, but they don’t have any overnight concession. If you’re hungry you have to order something to the hotel. Also, the front desk is not at all responsive to phone calls from the room. You have to go down in person. This was an issue a couple of times for me, but the people who helped me with my booking through the group booking office were truly excellent. We were here with Winter Jazzfest for the second year in a row, and we were given use of both the factory loft on the seventh floor and the studio in the lobby and both those served our purposes for media use very well. Will definitely be coming back here to stay many times.

Lovely hotel, this was our first visit to NYC and to be fair this hotel was ideal for us. Staff we great and helpful, from the check-in to walking out of the door. I’m not sure if it is a ‘MOXY’ thing, but our room was never cleaned during our week stay, not an issue as I can make a bed but seemed a bit unusual. If using a bar and you are charging to the room, you need to ensure you have ID on your person (just to prove, it’s you charging to your room), makes sense but, worth noting to save you a trek back to your room. Overall, this place is lovely and I would 100% recommend and stay again. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Big shout out goes to Alex on the main door, always welcoming us back from a long day out was worth the money it cost in itself!!

Overall our experience was good. The hotel common areas are good - the bar is fun and in the morning there is free coffee and snacks. The fitness center is better than many higher end hotels, just in a basement (no issue for me). The rooms are tiny but modern and clean - small rooms at this price are somewhat expected in New York. The main negative is the check in experience. We had booked on American Express, which was supposed to give us a free upgrade and early check in. And I tried to check in on my Bonvoy app early and it didn’t work. I arrived and there was neither an early check in or room upgrade. That said, my wife dropped her phone and it unluckily fell through the gap of the elevator door. The staff were super helpful getting the elevator company to retrieve it so she could get her credit cards and ID.

This experience at Moxy was exceptional for our family. Went there for our daughter's birthday for 6 nights. Quick and simple check-in with clear explanations about breakfast and the $30 per day credit for Café Avignon (drinks different from the coffee offered for breakfast and pastries, sandwiches or other foods offered for the morning). This sum can also be partly or entirely spent at the hotel bar in the evening. To be more specific about breakfast: there is a choice at the bar: yogurt / fruit / muffins / coffee / water / fruit juice. Then if other things tempt you, there is Café Avignon right next to the bar with a lovely person who even remembers the drinks ordered the day before despite the number of customers at the hotel! Upon arrival in our room, a note on the mirror to wish our daughter a happy birthday and lots of balloons in the room. She loved this surprise! We had read negative reviews regarding the size of the rooms. We were on the 10th floor in a spacious and well soundproofed room, with an exceptional view of the WTC. So there was more than enough room for 3 people, we had two large beds and there are spaces to store bags/suitcases under the beds (drawers and boxes) which was more than enough for us. A beautiful large bathroom with sink, toilet and large walk-in shower. No noise pollution coming from the bar or the rooftop bar. The beds are super comfortable and the cleanliness is top notch! A very friendly team at reception who answer all questions. Excellent musical atmosphere both in the lobby and in the elevator. We will return and highly recommend this recent hotel which opened in 2022!

My company hosted a team offsite last week, and we all stayed at Moxy LES. The rooms were quaint and uniquely designed for efficient use of space. The hotel location was perfect for train access and numerous dining options.
Meeting room space was available (operated by a separate event space team) and nicely appointed for daytime workspace. I recommend 15 people or less in these spaces to avoid being cramped.
Overall, the Moxy/Tao Group staff were accommodating and attentive.
