This location was perfect. if you enjoy walking in Manhattan this hotel is close to everything..shopping,dining,subway located around the corner Plus the staff is very friendly and informative We had a great unobstructed view of the Empire State Building from our 39th floor room
Excellent location, service and breakfast. Elevators are not synched very well, and wait times can be long when hotel is busy. Very close to subway, highline, Chelsea Market, and other landmarks. Lots of good restaurants close by, but better ones require reservations.
Very friendly Security team and hotel cleaning staff was on point. However, the elevators are brutal and the crowds in the lobby and 2nd floor (for breakfast) is overwhelming. This is a tough one for me to review...pretty high price for enduring the large crowds and the super long wait for elevators.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, the a/c worked great, and our view from the 43rd floor was spectacular. The staff greeted you with a smile and were helpful if needed. The breakfast was crowded but had nice options to choose from.
This well designed room is small but includes a king bed and pull-out couch. Bathroom is is also small but plenty of room for one at a time...nice shower. Breakfast was surprisingly better than expected. Hotel is new, clean and modern. We arrived around 10am and were pleasantly surprised that a room was available. Room darkening shades did the job.
My flight got delayed so I called in early morning to make sure my room is reserved! However, when I arrive at 2am after a long flight and tired day, front desk told me, this hotel is over sold, and my room is not available any more?!! I can never imagine this would happen to a Hyatt chain hotel! Don’t ever come to this hotel! Unless you plan to sleep On the street or you are able to walk on the street 2am to find another hotel!
Clean hotel. Great views. The stampede to free breakfast created a nightmare elevator jam in the morning. They should get rid of the breakfast. Desperate people would ride all the way to the top just to get an elevator then all the way back down.
After reading reviews I was skeptical but glad I kept this booking. Service was exceptional and staff was always willing to help. They offer baggage to be held while waiting for a room and when I came to checkin it was held in a secure area where noone is allowed. Keep in mind the room was on the smaller side but it is New York and the view was a wow factor! The rooms are updated which was a plus. I never waited long for an elevator even being on floor 42.
There are so many things to mention. The rooms are small and the aircon is noisy. Breakfast from 6-9 am. Why this timing? From 8.30 am don't even dream getting down quick with the lifts. At this time everyone is trying to come down for breakfast. I have waited 23 minutes for the lifts one morning. 45 floors, 10 rooms on each floor and there are 4 lifts(which staffs also use and they can over ride them). You do the maths! After the first day we gave up on breakfast. Not to mention the size of breakfast room. Good luck finding a table. Nobody had an idea to extend breakfast hours instead of putting a poster in the lifts explaining how busy it gets during this hour? We had an issue with the aircon during the night, at 4am decided to make an unbelievable sound. Went down to reception and make Shaun listen to the recording. He agreed this room is not fit for the purpose so he told us to pack up, wake the kids up and come down 20 floors so he can see we left the room and then he can gave me the keys for an other room on the 21th floor (one floor higher than my original room). He clearly has no understanding of what packing involves. It would have taken me hours. I suggested that he gave the key for the room on floor above so I can just move my stuff bit by bit without packing everything into the suitcases. HE REFUSED the only sensible solution at 4 am. Me and my husband had no sleep for that night. Next day an engineer came to fix the problem which solved the issue for an other two days before the noise started again. Front desk staff understood my frustration of packing up and agreed to gave me the keys for the other room so I can move by belongings bit by bit until Shaun butted in and he over ruled her decision. I needed to call the manager who said I can move whatever way I want and sent the bellboy with the trolley to help. Shaun is an unpleasant , unkind person who lacks of empathy which is a vital quality of the front desk staff. Elaine in the other hand is everything Shaun is not. Really Hyatt?…
I loved the place and the view from my room. Unfortunately I arrived too early for the check in so I waited some time in the terrace which is very cozy and beautiful, Zia was so kind to offer me a burger and a beer for the inconvenient and kept me company. The food was amazing by the way, and the breakfast too!
