After booking a hotel within a package deal (prior to Pestana) without reading the reviews (which were terrible, I'm talking hotel from hell levels) I opted not to take the chance and book the newly opened Pestana.
Yeah sure the room is small & cosy for sure but couldn't be cleaner if they tried which was our main concern. The bed is huge & amazingly comfortable plus it's silent to sleep in peace after a long ass day in the city.
Everything is really modern and the shower room is nice and hot.
46" Smart TV is a great touch and free wifi too.
The room was cleaned every single day with fresh towels given and if we needed any more it was just a phone call and they were brought right up.
Small fridge, safe and a coffee machine is also in the room which is nice!
The only drawback is lack of space for your clothes as there isn't a wardrobe so we just kinda lived out the suitcase, not the biggest issue in the world to compromise with is it!
The location is SECOND TO NONE! A few blocks from Grand Central Station. You are so close to everything but not staying in what I ended up calling "the zoo" (Times Square) I could only imagine how annoying that would have ended up being if we stayed there.
The price was exceptional for what you get from the service, to the cleanliness, the bed, the location. Would recommend over & over and we would 110% love to return in the future!

WOW I love this hotel. My friends and I went for my birthday to NYC and I stumbled upon this hotel because I thought the aesthetic was super cute and the location is super convenient to the train station. First impressions walking in, LOVE. The front desk staff was amazing shout out Ricardo, Gregory, and Marilyn. So sweet and so accommodating during our whole stay. At night we were in search of water and Gregory went in all the rooms to find us water bottles and even brought up our food that was delivered by Uber Eats. He was amazing, they all were amazing. My partner and myself had a week long stay in the Pestana Park Avenue hotel and could not have been happier with the service we received. Upon arrival they offered us the choice between the city view room which was booked or a slightly larger room at no extra cost, all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the cleaning staff always did an amazing job cleaning the room each day. The location was perfect as it is within easy walking distance of several iconic buildings, it is surrounded by amazing places to eat and even when we ventured further out it was easy to get a cab right out front of the building. And to top it off, as I was writing this review waiting to leave for our flight home the staff member on reception came over and gave us some beautiful souvenir tiles to remember our stay. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough for couples or somebody traveling solo, it was a joy to stay here and we're very sad to be leaving!

We have recently stayed at the Pestana Park avenue between 28th June to 4th July We had 2 classic rooms.
Rooms Rooms were compact with ample under bed storage and a small hanging space. The bathroom again was compact but modern. Room’s immaculately clean with maid service daily. Very comfy bed with lovely quality linen and freshly laundered towels
Breakfast Complimentary grab and go breakfast if required-Starbucks coffee machine, ice machine and microwave all provided, bagels for toasting and fresh croissants cream cheese and jam & Iced lemon water.
Staff Very friendly, knowledgable front of house staff.
Location Perfect for grand central subway and within walking distance to many of major attractions
Summary Highly recommended boutique hotel. Great ambassadors for the Pestana group. Within the past 6 months we have had the privilege of staying at Shangri La, Mandarin Oriental and Raffles hotels. The Pestana Park Avenue can hold its head high. I will actively seek out the brand for our future travels .

We booked the hotel in advance directly on the hotel website (also got 10% discount by joining the Pestana Guest Club) for 4 nights in early Feb'24 in a Superior Room. We were travelling to see Billy Joel on the friday night at Madison Square Garden and the hotel was the perfect location and a 20 mins walk to MSG (& Penn Station). We had several communications with the hotel prior to arrival and all answered promptly. We checked in around 4pm on the Thursday afternoon after travelling from the UK via Newark (we got the Airtrain then train into Penn Station and walked from there to the hotel in c.20 mins.). Very pleasant and informative check in advising us about the bagels, pastries and coffees available in the ground floor dining area from early morning, the water in the room, wifi and mini bar /fridge. Our room was on the 20th floor where we had a slither of view of the Chrysler Building. The room is not huge, but having stayed in NYC hotels on numerous occasions, none of them are (unless you pay big bucks). We had a large comfortable bed, USB slots at the bedside as well as bedside lamps. There's storage under the bed with huge drawers at each side instead of a stand up drawer storage unit. Also there's several coat hangers for storing clothes behind the mirror and door. There's a small sink in the main room area next to the door to the shower room. Shower was large and great water pressure with toiletries provided. There's a mini bar / fridge in the room. We purchased drinks outside and used it to store them and the large bottle of water provided for each stay. We taut moved the mini bar items out and put them back before check out. The TV can link to your Firestick or phone to access Netflix / Prime etc. The location of the hotel is perfect - 5 mins walk to Grand Central Terminal; 25 mins to edge of Central Park on 5th Avenue; 25 mins walk to Hudson Yards and start o the High Line; 30 mins from the Roosevelt Island Tram; 10 mins from the Empire State Building and 20 mins from Madison Square Garden. Check out was easy and as we didn't need to return to the airport until later the night we left our luggage at the hotel before returning later in the day before some final sightseeing. Perfect location. Friendly helpful staff. Nice clean room with comfortable bed and great shower. Decent price during the low season of February 2024.

Newly opened boutique hotel. Rooms are small, but very clean and beautifully designed. Our stay felt private and quiet, because there are only 4 rooms to a floor. The staff was consistently attentive and friendly, and the hotel manager Alex went above and beyond to assist. Location is excellent— only 3 blocks from Grand Central. All around outstanding experience.

Before check in I had requested a feather pillow on their website. Upon check in we received apathy or maybe it was merely distraction from the gentleman checking us in.
No engagement whatsoever or our complimentary water. We live locally, I even mentioned we were just in town for a show and a night out.
Upon check out, Gregory was a breath of fresh air and provided us water. He was engaging and friendly.
Anyway, I’ve stayed at many hotels around the city, I think at this price point you could do better, you could do worse but in this part of town put this on your option list for a safe not great bet.

For our purposes, the location was perfect...5 minute walk to Grand Central Station and easy walking distance to Times Square, Madison Square Garden.
The hotel and the room itself were spotlessly clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
We booked a "superior room". Note that while it met our needs it is VERY tight for two people. No closet and for more than a few days this may make things a little too close for comfort. They offer what's called a "cozy room" but I can't imagine how much cozier things could get. The sink/mirror are in the room itself right next to the bed, while the shower and the toilet are in their own space right next to the sink. This is not a complaint....looking again this is obvious in the photos on the website so that was our oversight.
Would we stay again? Absolutely, but if we were doing more than 3 nights we'd have to upgrade to something larger.

I have stayed at Pestana twice now and both times had great experiences. The first time I decided to stay an additional night after a work trip and Pestana last minute was able to accommodate me. I was back a week later for another work trip and this time had my mom joining me. Let me first highlight Brandon because he was amazing! He made it work so my mom and I got a larger room with a balcony & view!! Brandon was so kind, went above & beyond and made sure we had everything all set for a great stay. A couple other notes, I love that they have an indoor and outdoor area to hang out if you're waiting for a flight, Uber etc. They also store your luggage, have a refillable water machine (this is huge for me) and the rooms are so quiet. Having stayed at quite a few NYC hotels, I was shocked at how quiet my room was both times. The rooms may be small, but they have everything you need and I love the espresso pods & cute espresso mugs they have in the room. Would definitely recommend Pestana Park whether you're there for a short or longer visit!
