The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue garners praise for its exceptional service and prime location, with many guests appreciating the proximity to major attractions. Reviewers consistently commend the hotel's cleanliness and the modern, elegant atmosphere of the well-appointed rooms.

Detailed Reviews
Our family of 4 (10yo and 12 yo) were fortunate to stay here for 4 nights after returning from my son's baseball tournament in Cooperstown. We've stayed in Langham hotels previously (HK and Shanghai), so we selected this property given both our expectations as well as the prime location in midtown. It didn't disappoint as it was certainly a welcome respite.
Check in was quick and efficient as the porter quickly retrieved our luggage at the curb, and we were directed to our room (2408), a family double double room which features a small but useful kitchen. It was a corner room with a nice view of the Chrysler Building. The bathroom was large with a separate shower and deep soaking tub. The beds and bedding were very comfortable, and our only complaint was that it would've been nicer if the beds were queen sized although it may have been hard to fit it in the room.
Pros
- Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We sought a church for mass, and the Langham team quickly identified several options within walking distance.
- Location is exceptional as one can easily walk to Times Square, Rockefeller, etc. On 2 nights, we walked to Broadway shows. And, there are numerous good restaurants nearby.
- While there aren't many selections, the breakfast is quite good. We tried all the options on the menu, and even my picky kids, loved the fare.
- Fitness center is well stocked with up to date Techno Gym equipment. It wasn't terribly busy each morning, so one could get access to machines easily.
Cons
- On occasion, there was a wait for the elevators, and sometimes the arriving elevators were full
- We had to call maintenance because our shower didn't drain properly but they addressed it expeditiously.

Hotel's Favorite
I will certainly return and recommended this hotel to family and friends. The staff has been always extremely helpful and kind, from the reception to the housekeeping. I had an executive room, beautifully furnished, not a flaw. Modern style, a very large bathroom, very spacious. I was worry because some reviews didn’t speak well about the rooms, instead it was all absolutely perfect, elegant, brand new. The executive lounge has a fabulous view on 5th avenue, it was never too crowded whatever time we had breakfast and the breakfast was amazing with a large choice of healthy things too. We had an amazing staying and we’ll certainly return.
Just two suggestions to be at the same level of others 5 stars hotel I visited. The executive lounge in the web - site is claimed to serve warm/cold dishes throughout all the day. We popped in only once for lunch because we had a very tight schedule between two visits and the buffet was practically empty. Just one bowl of salad and few sandwiches. This does not normally happen in the executive lounges. Another recommendation. The reception is very busy the whole day and needs more staff. Each desk should be always guarded by at least one person. At the reception desk not two, but at least 3/4 persons. Concierge always a person in its position. And above all, always at least two persons outside guarding the entrance and calling taxi if needed. Luggages should be brought in and out by additional staff and the outdoor never left empty. Last, but not least, that would give also a more welcoming feeling would be (even small) a bar at the reception. There can be waiting time and a bar serving you a good coffee would make you feel more at home.

The Langham Hotel in Manhattan is nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury hotel experience in a great location in Manhattan. Directly on 5th Avenue, it is close to 34th street and about a 7 min walk to Macy's. It's also not far from the 34th/6th entrance to the subway and it's also very easy for Ubers and taxis to pull up in front of the hotel. It was also very close to Madison Square Garden if you're attending a concert there (which we did) and felt safe walking back after dark. All the staff members are highly trained to provide outstanding service from the moment you arrive at the front door until the time you check-out. The high level of service and professionalism is truly exceptional. If you can afford to splurge, I would recommend booking the Executive Club Room category with Langham Club access. The Langham Club offers full breakfast, little sandwiches and snacks at lunch and different offerrings such as shrimp cocktail, chicken fingers, etc. at dinner (they change the selection daily). It's not a replacement for a full meal if you have a big appetite but if you're a light eater then you will be more than happy with the selection and find it convenient to have this food and drink option right on site in a beautiful and comfortable setting. The Executive Club Rooms are very spacious and well maintained and the bathroom is exceptionally large. Daily housekeeping and nighttime turn down service was efficient. If you have any requests while on site, you can use the text messaging service to communicate with the hotel, requests are efficiently handled. The gym is very nice, has bottled water, towels and all the cardio machines including Peleton bikes. I've been travelling to Manhattan every year and this is by far the best hotel I have come across and will be staying at again in the future.

Spent three nights at the Langham hotel during a business meeting taking place at the venue. The staff at the Langham are outstanding, our every single need was taken care of both as hotel guests as well as during our conference. A big shout out to everyone from bell hops and front desk managers, to security, catering, wait staff, AV, and your entire event planning crew. We can't thank them enough!
The rooms are very big and stately, the bathtub is amazing but may be difficult for elderly to get in and out of it as it is VERY deep… Higher than my knees at 5'5. There is no separate shower, so you must be able to get in and out of the bathtub in order to bathe yourself. And the towels!!! They were fluffy and soft and taller than me!
Now for the cons… I stayed at three different hotels during my eight days in New York City (with social events taking place on either end of the business meeting) and The Langam was by far the most expensive and also the most uncomfortable room. The lighting in the space is very very poor, especially in the area where the closet is. My bed in particular was very uncomfortable with just a 4 to 6 inch "mattress" on top of a harder boxsprings. The pillows, while king size, we're very flat and no matter how much I tried to fluff it into a ball or fold it in half the pillow would go flat when I put my head on it and end up like wings by my ears.
I was also very surprised by the amount of road noise. I understand it is New York City, but for a hotel of this price I expected for better window insulation to eliminate the road noise.

We spent 5 nights at The Langham and were impressed by the caliber and professionalism of the staff -- from the front door to the desk to the Club to housekeeping. This is first-rate service, second-to-none in our travels. The rooms are huge by New York standards and really well outfitted. We had an executive kitchen suite that provided everything we needed for a relaxed and comfortable stay. That said, I have to say you are missing the boat if you don't spring for Club access. The Club offers an incredible breakfast selection until 11 AM everyday (thank you for that extended hour). And throughout the day the offerings change but are always delicious and beautifully presented. It was very nice to have a glass of champagne in the Club before heading out for the theater. The hotel's location may be its only slight negative. On the plus side, you are not on top of the Times Square insanity, but you want to be open to the subway, a bus or a taxi/Uber if you have business that takes you very far from lower mid-town. Key subway lines are not far away. We enjoyed gorgeous weather and walking. I would definitely return.

This hotel is spectacular - I was left absolutely speechless from the moment I entered the majestic lobby, which has a spiral staircase that goes up into the Michelin-star restaurant located in the hotel, AI Fiori. We had a long flight from Dubai and were extremely tired; we were left in awe as the manager greeted us with the warmest smile, and served us welcome drinks before taking us into our spacious suite which was decorated with balloons (the gesture was much appreciated) as we were celebrating my mom's birthday. The staff at The Langham went above and beyond, especially at the club lounge where they made sure to make special arrangements for us as we had special dietary requirements. Room service was quick and fast, and they had a wide variety of food to order from the room service menu. You will certainly not be disappointed by the quality of the rooms: they are spacious, have all the amenities that you'll need during your stay, and the beds and furniture are of the highest quality. The location of the hotel is unmatched - located two blocks away from the iconic Empire State Building, and a short walk away from NYC's central hub: Times Square, there is lots to explore within a short walk of the hotel. All in all, my first trip to NYC was everything I could have dreamt of, and was made extra special by our stay at The Langham. I hope to visit the hotel on my next trip to NYC!

I had stayed at the Langham multiple times before pre-pandemic. It was ok, though in the past service levels were inconsistent. It seems that hasn't really improved post-pandemic, although prices have skyrocketed.
I booked an Executive Club Room, which was spacious enough. Check in was efficient and the reception staff are as always, very friendly and helpful.
The room itself was well designed, although there were insufficient clothes hangers.
The bathroom was of good quality, although the shower water pressure was not great.
The bed was too soft for my liking even with the extra firm padding which I think the hotel tried to provide for me. Pillows were quite good though.
Housekeeping was inconsistent. For the first 3 days of my stay, the housekeeping did everything well. However, the standards dropped drastically on the next 3 days. Towels were not replaced as diligently. Soap replenishment was not as generous, etc. It's these little things that all add up, and I was disappointed by the inconsistency.
The biggest letdown however, was the Langham Club Lounge. This is a new addition by the hotel, and it is marketed to be an oasis where you could go to at any time of the day to relax, work, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth unfortunately. During breakfasts, the crowds could get unbearable and noisy. Even in the afternoons, when you'd expect things to quieten down, there would be loud, unruly children running around, and cheapskate Americans drinking alcohol like it was the end of the world. All in all, very disappointing, and quite frankly, low class.
I would have suggested that the Executive Lounge does not allow children below the age of 12 to enter.
Breakfast food was just ok. Your typical American fare of bagels, pastries and bread, eggs cooked to order, and the unhealthy oily sausages, bacon, etc. The fruit selection was average. The yogurts were quite nice though.
The lounge also serves afternoon snacks and evening canapes, which I found to be below average in quality, made worse by the very loud and noisy atmosphere.

Dear Jason, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Thank you, as well, for being our guest, both now and before the pandemic. It seems that a great deal of the features of our hotel don't align with your preferences. Unfortunately, I am aware that no hotel can please everyone all of the time. I will address the inconsistencies you noticed with our team in housekeeping. Thank you again for your stay and your feedback!

hotel is missing a WOW Factor. Booked with amex platinum..normally they offer a upgrade or at least a better room, no upgrade available and got worst possible view ..hotel is very expensive for what it is. Staff at breakfast very loud and taking amount themselves..not professional at all. Room service was a frozen pizza and what looked like Campbells chicken soup at 5 star prices--room was ok but not as big as it appears on their website, a tight squeeze. Bathroom for NYC was nice. Concierge was helpful in giving information about Veterans Day parade. One mention to doorman, do not recall his name but was from Tibet, what above and beyond to get a taxi with parade, took us two streets over and waited 20 minutes with us.

The rating is mainly to reflect that the room rates are on the higher end. We stayed only two nights, in room 2502. Reception was able to check us in early, around noon instead of 3pm, check in went very smoothly. The location is walking distance to so much: The Village, great food at many price levels, Whole foods, drug stores, delis, coffee shops, Broadway, shopping, NY public library, even Central Park is close enough for a longer stroll. The staff are attentive and courteous. The room is clean, large, bed is comfortable, not too firm, not too soft, with plenty of pillows! Bathroom is nice, albeit a bit large. Much of the room is laminate flooring, which feels so much cleaner. Small imperfections: bed linens are mediocre, and bedding did not include a top sheet, which is unusual to me. Bath/shower products are also mediocre, would recommend bringing your own, esp if you're picky about hair/soap products. Much of the room is laminate flooring, which I love, feels cleaner, but the little patch of carpet was dingy. The room was so quiet, no street noise at all! The ONE issue: Sat night around 8 to 9pm, it seemed a small child was gleefully and noisily playing with a very large marble or metal ball bearing, (?), rolling it all around the floor, babbling loudly, in some adjacent room with a shared wall or floor, the direction which I could not identify. Thank heavens it stopped by 9pm. Mysterious, maybe even a little spooky, lol! I would stay again.

"Despite the slightly dated and dim interior of the room, I was thoroughly impressed by the spaciousness it offered at the Hotel Langham New York. The room size was excellent, providing ample comfort during my stay. Moreover, the hotel staff's service was nothing short of superb and exceptionally efficient, ensuring a delightful experience throughout. Overall, while some modernization in the room decor could enhance the ambience, the exceptional service and generous room size made for a memorable stay." The Langham Club at Hotel Langham New York truly elevated my stay to another level. Daily breakfast, tea time, and dinner were exquisite experiences, thanks to Chef Wallace's delightful presentations and delicious cooking. Anna-Kaye's warm smile and attentive service added an extra touch of hospitality. In the evenings, Florin's superb service during drinks and dinner made us feel truly pampered, as if receiving royal treatment. I highly recommend staying on the Langham Club floors for an experience that is truly worth it. It's an unforgettable blend of exceptional service and culinary delights."

The elevators are pretty standard, and there are probably stairs you can take (although i didn't use them) and you can request a lower floor.
