The new kid on the block has arrived — fitting right into the neighborhood while making a jaw-dropping statement. Standing 35 stories tall, Moxy Chelsea NYC is an inspired addition to Midtown Manhattan, modern yet respectful of its storied surroundings. Tucked within the bustling Flower District, our hotel ushers guests through an overgrown flower shop, where a lush conservatory provides an inviting urban retreat. Design-forward details like an LED art installation and immersive culinary and co-working spaces are spread across the ground floor and lobby, encouraging work and play. Rooms are functional and fun, drenched in natural light and offering stunning vistas of NYC. The views get more spectacular atop our 35th floor glass-encased rooftop lounge, where all of Manhattan lays glittering before you. With four new dining experiences by TAO Group and Francesco Panella located within our hotel, there's no reason to leave — except, of course, to explore the greatest city in the world.

Nestled in the heart of NYC's Flower District, the Moxy NYC Chelsea captivates guests with its stylish ambiance and central location, drawing praise for its proximity to key attractions. The hotel's cleanliness and efficient room design receive high marks, as does the warm service provided by its staff. While rooms are noted to be compact, the strategic use of space and modern amenities offset concerns for some travelers. The rooftop bar and in-house cafes are popular spots, offering stunning views, including that of the Empire State Building. However, guests have called out the additional fees and desire for more in-room amenities.

New and modern hotel in the central part of Manhattan, located a few steps from Time Square and Madison Square Garden: it is therefore a very strategic location, also close to two subway stops that allow you to move everywhere. The view from the room is very nice, ours (on the 33rd floor) allowed you to admire the statue of liberty, albeit very far away! Price in New York standards, so you don't expect it to be cheap: the positive side is that at the time of Check in I was given a voucher of $30 per day to spend at the cafeteria on the street floor connected to the hotel (of excellent quality) or valid for other services (kitchen / rooftop). There were three of us, so I chose a room with two beds / 4 beds: compared to rooms with only one king bed the beds were French (cmq specified at the time of purchase), so rather narrow to sleep in two but equipped with mattresses and pillows very comfortable. Sore note the size of the room: really very small, so much so that it is difficult to move in between luggage and beds. Bathroom good size, shower very spacious but perhaps with little privacy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Another small flaw is the lobby, very small and without supports, if not the bar on the second floor.

Really recommend staying at the Moxy Chelsea! We had an amazing time. Lovely bedroom with an incredible view (we were on floor 29) & great location which felt very central (15 minute walk to Times Square) with the subway nearby. You get 30$ a day to spend in the cafe and also dry cleaning which was really helpful as you could grab breakfast or a cocktail. Comfy beds, no wardrobes but this was not a problem as we hanged our clothes on the hangers. Friendly staff! Only downside was that there were private events in the Fleur room so we did not get a chance to see this. Would definitely return in the future!

We live just outside New York City, and love to come into the city as a family and as a couple to experience the variety of events that the city has to offer. We always stay at the Moxy Chelsea because it offers the accessible location, comfortable experience, and individual touches that you would typically find with hotels at higher price points. The rooms are efficient, clean and comfortable with a lot of trendy touches (and an amazing rainfall shower!). They have a rooftop bar and fun indoor lounge area with a variety of seating that is a great place to meet up with friends or just relax. They are located in the floral district as an added bonus, and your walk around the area is filled with the smell of fresh-cut flowers, evergreen and fruit trees. No matter where we are going in the city, it is incredibly accessible by private or public transportation. We have traveled to Harlem and Brooklyn in addition to areas within the city and found it very easy to navigate, especially with the subway line right down the block. The staff is also exceptional and has always treated us with kindness and professionalism. When we have celebrated special occasions, they have also surprised us by decorating the room and adding additional unique touches. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a fun, safe, relaxing city experience!

This property is in a great location, easily accessible to the subway and walkable to many destinations. However, the rooms are exceedingly cramped, and there is virtually no service in this hotel, despite them charging the same rates as any other upscale hotel would charge. The hotel is apparently designed for millennials who don’t need to engage with humans. Try ordering food to your room, for example. You need to scan a QR code from the TV, but the code doesn’t work and you can’t get a live person on the phone to place the order. If you call the operator you will be greeted with some quirky greeting by someone answering the phone in a far away call center who is incapable of transferring your call to anyone but the main reservation number. Messages left for the manager go unresponded to. And if you do manage to place a food order, expect to charge it to a credit card and pick it up yourself. If you are a Bonvoy Gold member they will tell you upon check in that you have $30 per day to spend at the hotel. Just know that it’s a lie because when you check out and get your bill, you’ll see that you were charged a $30 per day destination fee. And if you didn’t use your $30 per day, there is no crediting you back. Marriott has figured out how to run a large hotel with minimal staff while charging full-service rates. What a business model!

Since I first visited a Moxy brand hotel a few years ago in NYC, I've loved it. To the point where when I've visited other comparable hotels in NYC I was VERY surprised by the quality in comparison. A big thing for me when I visit a hotel and especially in NYC is cleanliness and Moxy has done a great job of meeting my expectations (in ways that other hotels haven't).

The Moxy Brand, and particularly Moxy Chelsea is now my go to whenever I'm in NYC. From the superb customer service (most recently with Leslie at the front desk, but also everyone I've interacted with from the front desk to the dining areas), to the fact that I don't have to leave the hotel for a good meal or a good time; between the lobby bar (I always get the steak frites, which are chef's kiss!) and the cafe d'Avignon pop up next door, Moxy Chelsea has you covered. Pro tip: you get a $30 daily credit which is perfect for use on your meals (as they can be a bit pricey).

What the rooms lack in space, they make up for in great use of space. From pegs on the wall for you to hang your items, to drop down tables and its industrial design, Moxy has the art of space on lock. Not to mention the floor to ceiling windows and city views?! My favorite!

This visit, a friend and I traveled together and were comfortable in the shared King room which featured a sink/mirror area within the room and the toilet and shower behind 2 sliding doors. It was her first experience at Moxy Chelsea and she enjoyed it! Another tip: if you plan to share a hotel room here, it's best to travel with people you are close to and don't mind being in close proximity with. The walls that surround the shower (at least in the King room we stayed in) are a bit see through and you can see into it from the bed.

If you're a person that has an affinity for great design, doesn't mind staying within a smaller footprint, loves great views and not having to leave the premises to have your needs met, the Moxy Chelsea is the place for you! It's located in the Chelsea neighborhood, surrounded by lots of plant shops and everything you need to enjoy your stay.

We were disappointed in design elements of this clean, well-located hotel. Lobby is tight and check-in often backed up. The elevators were ridiculous, dark, with buttons low & hard to distinguish; your room card activates the floor # but only for a second or two. Daily destination fee of $30 +taxes credits towards bar or breakfast at cafe next door, nice but selection is sparse & expensive.

30+ floors but we had lower floor, without much of a view. In the $600 room (small of course), the bathroom had no privacy, the sink was dark green and flat, with no stopper. Reading light on only one side of the bed and it was jerry-rigged. Flex chair hangs on the wall; drawers are few & under the bed. The Fleur Room at the top, boasted on the website, is reached by going outside to another elevator, protected by doormen. We never went but were told it is not operated by the hotel.

The location is trending; there are many other new hotels within 100 yards on Flower District 28th street, including Hyatt and many Marriott hotels. Ritz Carlton Nomad, NYC #1 in the recent CN Traveler Readers Choice, is a couple hundred yards east. This was our first stay in a Moxy, touted as “stylish & playful,” but with so many other area choices, we will not return.

Moxy NYC Chelsea is a Great Hotel with Exceptional Staff!! After a lengthly search for the best hotel to celebrate our daughter's 21st Birthday, the Moxy Chelsea was the perfect place that exceeded all expectations imagined! The hotel entrance is very misleading. A very simple lobby which leads upstairs to a beautifully designed dinner and bar area. The hotel rooms are small, immaculately cleaned retro styled rooms with tall ceilings and windows for a great city view. The rooftop bar turns into an exclusive upscale, nightclub that gives eclectic vibes. The nightclub provided party sections, top-notched beverages with all the extras needed for the perfect 21st birthday celebration! Thank you Moxy Chelsea, we could not have been more pleased! The following staff members, Manny, Jocelyne, Leslie, Brittany and Tristan were all beyond phenomenal!

Positives: staff were very helpful and friendly, took on board feedback, arranged for extra towels etc. Coffee bar was really good, happy to provide chilled water etc. Location really good, nice side street surrounded by flower sellers and very close to two subways. Very stylish thoroughout.

Negatives: room very very small- we booked for 4 adults (two 6 ft plus teens as well as parents) deliberately in 4 bunk beds. This was unilaterally changed by the hotel the day before to two doubles, pushed as an upgrade as now having a Empire state view. However, this meant two double beds (not even Queen) and both boys sharing- very disappointing indeed.

The rooms are TINY- I get this is Manhattan but there is no wardrobe just hooks on the wall. There was no daily housekeeping which again for 4 adults is not enough. We've started in 5 hotels on this trip, this is the only one without daily housekeeping, and have previously stayed in 3 Manhattan hotels these all had daily housekeeping. I would regard this as a basic hotel service.

The hotel is also marketed as having a roof top bar, which it does. However, this is over 21s only, full stop. Totally understand this is the legal drinking age in the USA but when the hotel is marketed like this, not being able to access it as a group is poor. This might be slightly wrong but I think on Friday and Saturday nights this is a night club from 5pm (? ) which makes it much less attractive to us, personally, no matter the age limit.

Hello alexp76, Thanks for the review! We are thrilled you loved our fantastic location and friendly Crew. However, we apologize that the room type you requested was not available. We regret the frustration and inconvenience this caused you and your family, and we are very grateful for your patience. We are also sorry we let you down with regard to our housekeeping services. It is very important for us to maintain a fresh and clean atmosphere in all rooms, as well as our public spaces. Please accept our apologies that we weren’t able to fulfill that expectation. This has been shared with our Style team to ensure it does not get repeated. In addition, we are grateful for your feedback regarding the rooftop bar access and apologize for the frustration you experienced. I stayed here with some friends of mine for a Bachelorette party. Overall, we were pleased with our stay here. I arrived one hour prior to check-in & the receptionist Tristan was very friendly & accommodating. He helped me check-in early & also found my key cards dropped on the lobby floor when I thought I lost them!

When checking-out, we were able to use the $30/day food & drink voucher at the hotel’s café. Staff was very helpful in granting us $60 towards our transaction since we stayed two nights.

We weren’t so stoked when our room wasn’t cleaned & towels & other toiletries weren’t replenished after our first night. We didn’t put the do not disturb door hanger on so we expected that to be done when we were gone. Guests should also be able to access the rooftop bar through the elevator & not have to wait in line outside.

As previously stated, we were pleased with our stay here & would return and/or recommend to other friends staying in the city. Location was amazing & staff was great!

It was my first time visiting NYC and honestly I couldn’t have picked a better hotel to stay at! Moxy was absolutely amazing, the room was stunning and the staff was very nice. I had a few hiccups with the first room I was in, but the staff was VERY quick to get me set up in a different room. The view of the city and the location was awesome, all the Subways were about 4-6 min walk away and I felt safe walking at night as well. I’ll definitely be booking with Moxy Chelsea again!

Hi, you pay a $30/night “destination fee” on top of your room charge, which can then be used for breakfast at the cafe, or dinner/drinks at the restaurant. So essentially no, not free breakfast, and the destination fee is not optional. I’m from the UK and had never come across a system like this - apparently it’s common in NYC. Came as a shock!

We took the train as we live in NJ and are comfortable on mass transit. If I remember collectively, it was $75 a day which is the going rate in Manhattan. Perhaps parking in NJ and taking the PATH may be a grade.
