Nestled in the heart of New York City, Fairfield by Marriott New York Manhattan Times Square is lauded for its prime location, making it ideal for sightseers wanting to explore the city's attractions. The hotel staff's friendly and helpful service frequently garners praise, contributing to the welcoming atmosphere noted by guests.
However, opinions on the rooms vary; cleanliness and comfort are commended by some, while others point out issues with size and inconsistent housekeeping. Despite the central location, critiques about value suggest the pricing may not align with the room quality and size offered.

Fairfield hotel is in a good location only a 7 minute walk to time Sqaure. The best hotel to stay for location and value for money would defeintley recommendation it.The buffet breakfast was good especially with having the children I needed breakfasts included for a good price and I definitely got that. It was really helpful that on the day I was checking out I could leave my bags with the hotel so I could explore New York 💛

This hotel is a quintessential NYC ‘must’ and has all the ingredients for a perfect opportunity to see New York City at its best. The recipe starts with a cast of guests out of casting central, then stir in the cavalcade of hoteliers along the vibrant electricity of W40th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue. Gently stir and rest. Now add (well you don’t really have a choice in the matter) a pinch of Pandemic, and you have the making of a NYC getaway that you will treasure forever.
Everything and everyone here runs smoothly from the effortless check-in to the early morning pick up breakfast, from the stellar housekeeping squad to the always available ice in the lower lobby ice machine (a particular personal quirk).
As mentioned, the variety of guests and visitors to this location are beautifully diverse. Witnessing the front desk staff mindfully adapt to the wide range of personalities and assorted cultural representatives was inspiring. Hospitality is an art as you engage with your guests to make them feel welcomed, nurtured, safe, and well served. Here at the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Manhattan Times Square hospitality is a fine art.
A Pandemic by nature is annoying and cumbersome to say the least. But here at Fairfield Manhattan Times Square they’ve taken lemons and made lemonade. The systems implemented to accommodate guests’ COVID-19 safety were clear and user friendly. And the staff leading the way were sincere protectors. From Helen Guon, the General Manager to the others I encountered: Merkenson, Kendijah, Andrise, to others too numerous to mention - these hospitality professionals paved the way for a much needed respite from the pervading madness happening in our world today.
I salute this hotel and it’s staff. Together they create a gem of a caring, supreme experience.
Bravo!!!

My son and I have stayed here twice for comic con. The last trip we were celebrating his 15th birthday in NYC. The staff went out of their way to make him feel special, complete with a birthday card and balloons delivered to our room. They even sang happy birthday to him in the lobby. When we got to the room there were salty and sweet snacks waiting for us. Thank you Marriott staff for making our trip so memorable.
Additionally, this location is perfect, close to Times Square, but not so close it's too loud at night. The included breakfast is also a benefit. We eat a hearty breakfast and have enough energy to explore the city until dinner time.

We spend 8 nights at the Fairfield Inn in Times Square/Manhattan. As a general line the whole experience was a 5 out of 10. The hotel offers just enough for a decent stay: OK bedrooms and great location.
Rooms: The size of the room is OK for 2 people. We booked a 2 double bed bedroom for 3 people and it was a little awkward to move around. Storage isn't enough even for 1 person. The bathroom is OK. Beds are comfortable.
Amenities: The room has a kettle with few tea bags and coffee samples, small fridge, safe, microwave, clothing iron and a tv with Netflix. All in good condition.
Cleaning: The cleaning service just operates every other day and the cleaning days weren't that clean. We didn't always get the full set of towels (1 towel per person, rarely got hand towels) needed in the room and it was barely dusted.
Entrance and services: The hotel hosts a large number of guests which usually crowd at the lobby making it difficult to access the help counter.
Elevators don't suffice the daily transit to the lobby. The high number of guests and floors create long lines every morning during breakfast hours for people to go up and down their room.
Breakfast was poor. We all understand the challenges of serving a good breakfast during covid, but it was far from good. The choices were limited and the quality of the food was towards bad.
Staff: Everyone was nice and helpful.
Location: Location is great. Super centric and easy to travel around the island by metro, walking, bus or taxi. Lots of restaurants and entertainment close by. Probably the best asset of this hotel.
Overall, the experience wasn't bad, but far from great. When you spend your days walking around and eating outside you expect to arrive to a clean and fully equipped room where you can rest peacefully.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Fairfield, the location is very central, it runs alongside port authority terminal station, having arrived from JFK Airport we took the LIRR to Penn station and comfortably walked from there to the hotel as it is just off 8th avenue.
For the hotel itself, we had a king room on the 24th floor, although in a noisy area once the windows were shut no noise interrupted our sleep, the bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed including a mini fridge in the room and coffee making facilities, the rooms were cleaned every day if you wanted it, we settled for every second day and there is a safe in the room.
The hotel serve breakfast each morning from 6-10:30am, again I had read reviews about it being small and not enough space, we always got a table upon check in, the staff are so friendly, clearing tables, making sure the seats and table were clean before seating us, offering to fill our water bottles for the day, always checking if we needed take away bags or boxes for snacks during the day. We were served by Diomarys, Teresa, Luis and Rodolfo. They always greeted us with a smile and some pleasant conversation, nothing was ever too much trouble, one morning when we arrived down the cookies were finished as we were late and the staff, a very tall girl, I didn’t get her name, went in and cooked us a batch while we had our breakfast, ever so helpful. There was a huge selection of cereal, fruit, eggs, waffles, bagels, sweet pastries and cookies, juices, something for everyone, with take away coffee and tea for on the go. The staff in the breakfast area are a credit to the running of the service and I would come back and also recommend the hotel to others.
Reading reviews prior to our stay I was worried about the lift situation, believe me, we never had a problem with the lifts, there is 3 and they come very quickly.
We are checking out now today, check out is 12pm, there is a seating area downstairs if you wish to utilise after you checkout and also the hotel are happy to stow away your luggage.
I would rate this hotel 5/5 for quality, friendliness, comfort of the rooms and location. Well done and do not be afraid to book this hotel. It has everything you need and want.

Walkable to the Javitz center, close to many things. The hotel room was clean and quiet and comfortable.
Although breakfast is offered, we usually do not partake of the 'freebie' hotel breakfasts, but there is coffee and basics out for the morning as well. We were there in February, and this hotel was good value for the money.

I just completed an overnight at the Fairfield Inn/Times Square and had a pleasant experience. From check-in to check-out, the staff were courteous and helpful. My Titanium Elite status was recognized at check-in, leading to an upgrade to a premium room. Breakfast was substantial (quite crowded, especially on weekends, so give yourself extra time). The hotel is located steps away from major tourist sites and a variety of public transportation options. Highly recommended!

Disclaimer - I would give this hotel a 3.5 star rating overall.
Ok, so New York accommodation is super expensive comparatively (and add in the Australian exchange rate) so my review is hard to compare to other hotels on the market, in used to a much higher standard for this price point yet understand the comparison level in New York is different.
This hotel is in a great location near Times Square and walking distance to the subway to get you around easily.
Staff were all friendly, and the room although basic gives all the requirements for a comfortable stay.
Breakfast is included in the rate , and all though once again basic gives a good variety to get you going for your exploring for the day.
Would I stay here again? I would probably opt for something a bit more high end next time and spend the extra dollars, however for a budget friendly stay, I cannot fault this place.

The rooms are unfortunately worn down and desperately need an fresh-up. Of the 3 elevators, 1 was out of service for four days, so waiting times of 12-15 minutes for elevator was on the order.
Unfortunately, the front desk couldn't bother less.
On the third day, we actually had to ask whether the 800 US per night included a room maid service or not. We could get towls, but had to insist to have to room made.
Staff and guest all agreed that the air-conditioning in the breakfast room was really overdoing it, but the staff committed they had no clue neither who to aks, let alone how to change it.

The hotel is not on a busy street. The location directly across the street from the Port Authority station means easy to access public transportation. It also means you have the typical homeless that tend to be in that area. We felt safe though. The breakfast was excellent. The ladies that worked in the food area and desk area were all friendly. No view from room. Only a couple of blocks from Times Square. The staff were constantly cleaning the hotel (not the rooms). Typical signs of age and wear such as rusted fixtures in bathroom and very uncomfortable beds. They held our luggage after checkout until our flight. Hard to get the room temperature correct- it leans towards hot.
