For the price, was totally worth it!
So much to see and do around the hotel, all within walking distance - China Town, Little Italy, cat cafe, karaoke, local cafes, bars, parks, restaurants.
We were able to order Uber no problem whenever we wanted to head out - to get to times square was approx $20.

The hotel was very basic, but we spent very little time at the hotel - we used it to sleep in, so it did the job. Came with a Roku tv, private bathroom and shower, two single beds, a lamp, and a bedside table.
We were able to keep the room quite cool with the air conditioner which was lovely to return back to after the humid NY air. We slept with the AC on which drowned out any outside noises.

From what I saw, the hotel lobby was the only place in the hotel to purchase drinks/snacks, which were pricey, however there was a corner store kitty corner to the hotel, which was very convenient.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NY and does not want to break the bank on a hotel!

Ok so let me start with the positives. The room has a bit more space than standard rooms in central Manhattan. And the bathroom was spacious too. But it does not look like the photos at all. More like hostel/dorm which I didn't like. No bed headrest, no duvet just folded sheets on the end of the bed!! ;-( Wanted to leave right away. The walls were paper thin so I could hear a couple arguing. :-( And the area looked a bit run down too. Only positive was the front desk staff were nice but I wouldn't book again.

Very good value for money for New York.
Very popular and super authentic neighborhood, a treat for us.
The street is really noisy so don't forget your earplugs unless you are a very heavy sleeper.
Comfortable bedding and cleanliness at the RV, the rooms are large and the bathrooms correct. Dining room on the 3rd floor, super practical when you don't want to go to a restaurant all the time.
Simple services and staff not very efficient for the most part but it is perfect for sleeping there and spending the day there to rest before leaving.
If you want luxury and attention, go your way. We found it perfect for us and for half or even 1/3 of the price asked in other hotels.

I stayed here pre pandemic and was happy with what I got for the price. Following my experience in October 22 (seemingly shared by others looking at reviews) I will not be staying again and strongly advise others to avoid.

If you actually receive what you have paid for the place isn't so bad, i.e. budget friendly, clean and good location.

If however you arrive at your prepaid booking to be told they sold your room and you are to now be put into another hotel “that's better” - prepare for the worst!

The “better place” (30 odd min drive from location) was horrendous, with curtains that didn't shut, no sheets/blankets on the bed and overflowing toilets?! We were then “allowed” to have our original booking at Canal Loft after spending one night in the supposed better hotel….

Long story short, Canal Loft advised us to take up our complaint re the first night with Booking.com, with Booking.com blaming Canal Loft neither taking liability. Following silence from the both, I took the issue up with my credit card company who clawed the money back for the missed nights stay from Canal Loft who tried to contest the charge which was ultimately ignored with all the evidence provided.

This hotel takes a $100 deposit and claims to reimburse you 3-5 days after checking out. I checked out 12 days ago and still have not received this deposit. I think it is disgusting and they have no email to get into contact with them .

This place was fantastic! Staff were very friendly, room was very clean and beds were comfortable. They also allowed us to keep our luggage there before and after check out so we would not need to lug things around NYC before catching our airport shuttle. Conveniently located and great base for exploring the city. Will definitely be back!

Practical location - you get the full flavour of China town! Comfy clean room. Wifi etc all working and fine. Staff helpful. Good price for the location. A/C worked well which was useful. It’s a practical and functional hotel - does what it says on the tin

Good basic hotel. The hotel was clean and I felt safe. Good location and the staff was friendly. Cleaning had to be requested at the reception. Hotel is on the edge of lively Chinatown, not too noisy. 24/7 grocery on the other side of the street. I stayed for 10 nights. I would stay again.

There are many unfounded reviews of this place. It is very clean and quiet, central, plus fresh and clean towels daily. Bedding is impeccable. Carpet very clean. Bathroom been pleasing. Seems good value.

Don't trust this hotel!!! The worst experience of my trips. I made a reservation months in advance, I already read some negative reviews about this hotel cancelling your reservation at the last minute but I decided to trust because I read some positive reviews too, but to make sure I asked the hotel several times during those months and before the trip if the reservation wasstill active and they told me “of course”, well what's my surprise when I get off the plane in new york, I turn on my cell phone and I get a text message saying that my reservation is cancelled!! without any reason, so I called them and they tell me that they have already given our room, and with sarcasm they say that we should come back another time, shameless! It turns out that that day there was a macro-concert in the city and they saw that they would get more money for that night in the hotel than for the whole week we were going. The result of their bad management was 9 hours in the airport looking for accommodation! Because of the concert there wasn't a damn room in the whole city at less than 1000 dollars per night, we felt totally helpless in an unknown city, they didn't even give us any alternatives, very tired by 8 hours of flight and instead of being able to get to the hotel, we had to stay 9 hours at the airport calling all the hotels in the city, with the consequent phone bill as it was a spanish phone! A whole day's vacation lost!! looking for a place to sleep and wanting to go back to my country because of these scoundrels. The budget for the entire trip spent on the first night because of this hostel. Don't let them ruin your whole trip, don't let them ruin your dream trip to New York, don't go to this hotel!!

Hi we stayed in a private two bed dorm and that had a private bathroom .I didn’t see any other rooms but understand there are double rooms with two single or a double bed with private bathroom available I would suggest emailing directly as sometimes the booking sites list the rooms differently .

Take the Skytrain in JFK to the blue subway station. Subway to Fulton Station and change to the orange 4 Subway until Canal Street station. 10 mins footwalk and there you are. The whole trip takes you about 2 hours from JFK.

I’m afraid that I don’t know, Martinez0. It wasn’t an issue for me. I would think that you could call the hotel to find out. I’m afraid that I didn’t have a telephone number on my receipt, but the address is: 94 Canal St., New York, NY, 10002.
