I avoided booking here previously due to conflicting reviews on it's existence/reliability, but when I was throwing up on the streets of Manhattan and needed a place to stay ASAP, it was the cheapest option available to me. So in a dazed fog, hunched over on the steps of Grand Central station covered in sweat, tears, and other bodily fluids, I reluctantly booked and got the subway over to the location.

After walking past it once, and throwing up again immediately in front of the restaurant next door, I made my way in and was delighted to find that it was a real building that actually existed! Desk staff were friendly and welcoming (partially out of pity I'm sure) and found my booking without too much trouble. One thing they couldn't find however was my room key, which was a little concerning. After a few minutes of looking for it, they resolved to just unlock the room with the master key and told me they'd bring me my key as soon as they found it (they never did, thankfully I was only there for the night so this was no problem short of sheepishly explaining the situation at check-out)

As far as the room goes, you get what you expect for the price. It was small, it had a bed, a toilet, and a shower, which was everything I needed at the time. It seemed fairly well maintained and clean. I'm not sure it's a room I would choose to spend more time in than I had to, with the slightly claustrophobic feel of everything (including the tiniest TV I have ever seen) and the charming view of dingy brick wall out of the confusingly designed windows. But as a base of operations on a trip where you'll be spending most of your time out and about, it's hard to beat the convenience of the location for the low price offered. At no point in my experience did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable, honestly with the size of the building it's hard to feel a whole lot of anything.

All in all, if I ever needed a place to stay for cheap again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. It is a confirmed Real Building that Exists, the staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and functional, and the location is excellent. As long as you don't expect more than that, you won't be disappointed.

You get what you pay for and this is fine for a few nights. We knew in advance there was no lift and we only had to do the stairs once a day when coming back at night. It was annoying there was no WIFI and there is nowhere to store your clothes so we just lived out of the suitcase, we were only there 4 nights. The room was small but comfortable and spotlessly clean, the bathroom floor got very wet when showering (lots of hot water btw) but they provided free slippers to wear once out of the shower so you didn't slip. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we coudn't fault the location. If you want cheap and cheerful for 3/4 nights you'll be fine here - we had the queen deluxe room.

Hotel without elevator, and narrow stairs. The room is OK and clean. She is silent which is rare in New York.
Hotel well located, near the main arteries of Manhattan.
The reception staff is friendly.
Really too bad there is no elevator!

✔️ location. I like that it’s very accessible to the centre (Times Square). So if you booked hop on and hop bus tours and broadway shows, it’s a good location to book a room.
✔️ helpful staff. Although the property doesn’t have elevators, the staff offers to help bring up and down and store your luggage for you.
✔️ unlimited warm drinks and water at their cozy basement. Since I visited NYC during the cold December, it was nice to know upon check in that guests are welcome to hangout in the basement to avail of the unlimited coffee / hot chocolate / tea. It helped me a lot to stay warm.
✔️ clean restroom with body wash and shampoo dispenser

🔻 not for big groups or families with kids. Although I like the design and functionality of the rooms (you can store your luggage below your bed and there is a small cabinet that doubles as a small bed side table), the rooms are relatively small so i’d recommend it for solo travellers like myself or for couples or best friends who are travelling together (which I’ve noticed a lot when I was hanging around the basement. Those who are checked in are mostly couples).

Decided to go to NYC for a concert at The Garden. Ended up booking this hotel because the location was central to everything and it was inexpensive by New York standards. The staff were very kind and always available. The rooms were a little small but felt cozy and was very clean. The noise of the city wasn’t an issue even though they provide complimentary ear plugs. Just beware if you’re on a higher floor you’re going to get a great workout because there is no elevator. If you’re planning a trip to NYC solo or with a friend/partner strongly consider NYC rooms.

I really can’t fault this hotel! No lift but your bags are brought upstairs for you and if you need to leave your bags in the hotel on your last day while you explore then you just leave them in your room so no navigating the stairs!

We chose a room facing onto 8th Avenue. Ear plugs are provided but we never needed them, slept perfectly fine. Rooms were really comfortable and had everything we needed. Yes, they are small, but for my friend and I it worked perfectly fine. The bathroom door is a kind of slide across one which may be an issue for some but there is one downstairs you could use if you wanted to I guess.

The room downstairs was a great addition, you could go in there to chill out or eat food you had brought back with you If too tired to eat out and I do have some pictures of this I’ll add!

Location wise the hotel was in a perfect spot. 5 mins walk to Times Square if you wanted to go there and under 10 mins for us to get to watch Wicked also which was great as we went to do the ticket lottery on Sat evening. Other than that we avoided Times Square at night as it’s hard to move! We were two girls in our late 20’s and felt fine in the area walking back from shows and Madison Square Gardens.

Great base for exploring and really excellent value for money too!

(We enjoyed westway diner and Patzeria Family and Friends which were near the hotel- I’ll attach pictures again).

The location is close to the Greyhound Bus terminal, which is a convenience for me as I traveled to NYC by bus. It is very near to Times Square and the center of the action. The bed and room are more than adequate for a solo traveler, as is the bathroom. There are free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the basement lounge area.

My room was on the fifth floor (uppermost) and there is no elevator. I only brought a duffel bag so no big deal, though they offer to bring your luggage up to your room. Picking up water or hot drinks from the basement became a good sports exercise.

Before you book at this hotel or any by LuxUrban carefully consider the health and wellbeing of yourself and other guests as the this hotel chain will not. We booked five nights in NYC over the thanksgiving weekend. Because of the limited availability, the only rooms offered were non-refundable. Not feeling comfortable with this, I called the hotel and was told that in the case of a verifiable emergency, a refund would be provided.
Two days before our trip our party got sick with Covid 19 which is verified. In an effort to protect others and prevent spreading the virus, we reached out to the hotel to cancel or change our reservation. First, no one ever answers and the phone always goes directly to voicemail. Someone finally responded via text wishing us a speedy recovery but denying any type of credit or refund. When asked if they preferred guests to arrive with Covid, no response was offered.
From a growing brand I am disappointed in such poor service and communication of policy. I acknowledge that I should have gotten the emergency refund in writing but I am genuinely concerned that so little consideration is given to the health of all guests and staff. We will never book with you again and will ensure that we let others know of the abhorrent policies, communication, and regard.

I must agree with the other view. This company try to scam people. I’m only writing a review here as I am unable to on Booking.com since I did not actually end up staying at Boston West Accommodations (operated by SoBeNY/ CorpHousing Group and any other name they go by).
Booked accommodation in good faith in January and paid IN FULL at the time of booking. Leading up to the day of arrival (28 May), I had been in communication with the accommodation (or so I thought!). Hours before arriving into Boston there was ZERO indication that anything was amiss.
Upon arriving at the airport, I was unable to get any information from the accommodation as to which apartment I would be staying at/ who to contact etc. Then I received a message simply stating that they had cancelled my reservation, leaving me high and dry in a foreign city! Fortunately I was with my partner and we had a means of paying for new accommodation on a credit card, but this could have been very dangerous for lone travellers or those without means to find alternative accommodation.
8 attempts to call the accommodation and no response….unsurprising.
At first I assumed they cancelled us because it was memorial weekend and they had a better offer from someone paying more than we had in January - although subsequent research on the internet shows this is a common thing with this company.
We did receive a refund - over 11 days later - but only with Booking.com intervening. We were still left with considerable additional costs, however and no apology or explanation as to why they had cancelled our booking at last minutes notice.
I can’t leave a review on Booking.com as stated already, so hope that this helps others to reconsider booking any accommodation with this company because I’d hate to see this happen to others. It’s horrible to know you’ve been scammed.

After reading a lot of reviews we were a little skeptical going into our trip. I want to start off by saying we were presently surprised. This hotel is half the cost of those surrounding it, believe it or not, you get what you pay for. Is this the Ritz? Absolutely not, so don’t expect it. What you get here is a nice, clean room and full bathroom right in the heart of Times Square at an affordable price, nothing else. I read a lot of complaints about having to walk up stairs, yes you have to walk up stairs…not a big deal. No we couldn’t get the TV and WiFi to work, but also didn’t try very hard. We didn’t come to NYC for the hotel tv and WiFi. Aside from those couple things this hotel was great and would absolutely stay here again. We booked a king room and got a King bed that was more comfortable than other hotel beds I’ve slept on. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly and offered to carry our bags up the stairs to our room for us. I can’t speak on the refund complaints as we didn’t need to cancel our trip but we didn’t have any random additional charges or anything like that. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean, barebones affordable place to stay in Times Square I would absolutely recommend this stay
