Moxy NYC Times Square is celebrated for its prime location in the heart of NYC by numerous travelers, who also commend its spotless premises and stylish, if compact, rooms. While the hotel's service generally garners appreciation for its friendliness, there have been some concerns over service inconsistencies. Guests have called out the vibrant atmosphere and modern amenities, though the noise from the bar and streets can be a caveat for those seeking tranquility. Despite mixed feelings about room sizes and value-added fees, the overall sentiment leans towards a positive experience.

Just planned a short trip to NYC to celebrate my birthday staying at the Moxy Times Square.
My expectations were huge once is such an important day.
From checking in to checking out (and after!) I felt such an incredible experience and the service was no more than fabulous!
Amazing structure, room cleaning just perfect, delicious food and the hotel crew… they are the best!

The bar on the second floor is awesome if you want to chill and enjoy some beverage, food and music.

The magic hour is just a spot you must go to fell what a party in NYC truly is.

Would definitely come back!!!

We visited NY for thanksgiving and the first few days of Dec. Amazing location, right around the corner from Macy’s and a few blocks from Times Square- we could wander and watch the balloon parade with ease.

The light up staircase was great for photos!

The room size (we had queen I think) was fine and the styling was cool, especially the bathroom and in room sink. Room was cleaned daily and there was a handy steamer in the room (also irons and other amenities in a help your self room on each floor if needed).

The hotel reception glows pink and smells amazing- but think the strong perfume caused me an allergic reaction as my eyes swelled and reacted if I spent too much time in there. Rooms and corridors were fine however. There were cvs and walgreen stores nearby where I picked up some allergy meds.

Use your pass card to swipe for lifts and get in the number the screen directs you too.

We were on 3rd floor and it was noisy, some street noise and club music, but not too bad and we were tired so could sleep okay. Ear plugs provided too for light sleepers!

It’s right by all cuisine restaurants you could want, and has a snack cafe behind the bar. Free coffee behind bar too 6-10am, really delicious to bring back to room or grab on way out to explore. We made use of the oysters and crab beignet happy hour at Legasea (hotel restaurant) and it was great.

I’m not done with New York, and I would stay at Moxy again!

This was my first time here. Moxy is part of the Marriott Bonvoy hotel chain, therefore, I was able to book my complimentary room using my free annual anniversary night. I booked this hotel, because it was close to NY Penn Station and the Times Square/Broadway area.

My check in went smoothly. I was recognized at Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite, including complimentary buffet breakfast their Legasea restaurant. The hotel has some of the newer hotel elevators, which take you directly to your room floor by manually entering your room floor and also using my key card. I enjoyed my lunch at the hotel’s Legasea seafood restaurant located in the second floor, where the bar and lobby are also located. See my separate Legasea review.

The rooms are very unusual efficient, small and compact in design with pegs on the wall and no furniture except for a folding directors chair and folding table hanging on the pegs. The width of the room is a little larger than the length of the queen size bed. As you can see from my pics our bed was pushed up against the exterior wall with window. The bathroom was also small. The bathroom sink was located in the main bedroom area. This was a unique place to stay for only one night. It was an interesting experience.

I walked up to Rockefeller Plaza, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and my restaurant for dinner prior to seeing Hamilton. I used my Marriott Bonvoy app on my iPhone to check out of my room. My hotel bill was accurate. I recommend this hotel for a single night stay especially if you can confirm a good hotel rate.

I was really skeptical about staying here as I was really worried about the size of the room. I was very happy I stayed here and am now familiar with the Moxy brand. I was very impressed with the room. I had a corner room. Rooms while small, felt bigger because it is so beautifully designed with impressive use of space. There is a small round table and couple of chairs all of which are folded neatly and hung on the wall. You can set it if you like or leave it tucked away if you don't. There was no closet but several hooks and hangers along the wall where you could put your clothes.

There was a nice bar and restaurant area and there were few other dining options, including a take-away breakfast place called egg-head. There is also a terrace bar that I did not go to but the entrance is from outside the hotel as it is run by an independent company.

If i was traveling with family, the room would be too tight but if it is one (or even two) adults, it is really nice.

The Moxy NYC Times Squares Hotel is an amazing experience. I booked it last minute and was unsure what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted by an obliging security guard. He loaded  my astronomical amount of luggage(Birthday Decorations & Gifts) onto a dolly. The front desk representative was friendly and informative. He escorted me to my gorgeous room while updating me on the covid regulations the Moxy had put in place. Our room was the "Superior Queen Room", it features a heavenly  queen size bed and roomy double loft bed. The room is small but beautifully designed like a swim team locker room(reminiscent of sons swim team days). Though the room is compact we had more than enough space for 2 glam women and all our accessories and 1 college student and his school supplies. I also decorated the room for her birthday festivities. The bed was comfortable we all slept like babies. The room service cuisine was fast and delicious. The hotel gave the option to operate in a contactless manner if so desired. There is a storage closet in the hallway with towels, mini refrigerators, hangers, etc. If the closet doesn't contain what you need the front desk will be sure to deliver it.  Breakfast was included but unfortunately I did not indulge(intermittent fasting life), but my son did. It was continental breakfast which is great starter when you have a jam packed day. My son took advantage of the lounge and did his vitural classes and homework. The hotel has great security. In order to enter the hotel and board the elevator you must use your digital room card. Please note  the digital elevator set up is very modern and takes a minute to get used to.
There are no visible buttons if you change your destination. I was a little freaked out but was careful to think before choosing the floor. The Moxy is located in a great area, where you are a few steps to Times Square and Herald Square. Instagram picture friendly!! The hotel and outside was hustling and bustling and we didn't hear any noise at all(Winning!). If you didn't catch on by we truly enjoyed our stay throughly and will visit again. Take it from me the Hotel Queen you will love it!! Bring your mask and enjoy! Mask will be provided if you do not have one.

The hotel met our needs and overall we enjoyed our stay. The location is great, we were able to walk everywhere. We stayed in a 2 bunk room and 4 separate beds for 4 people is an oddity that was perfect for our group. They had clearly added additional soundproofing to our room and it was probably one of the quietest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Between that and the very effective blackout curtains, we slept like babies!

We were in an accessible room so had a bit of extra space, but the room was still rather cave like and I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time there, but who goes to New York to stay in their hotel room? The bathroom was large and easy to use in a wheelchair without looking clinical.

Elevators worked well with a few glitches (not stopping at our floor once even though we got on the right one, leaving before you had time to walk from the touch pad to the elevator, being too crowded to get on). Overall, I think it probably is way more efficient than without the electronic system.

DO NOT pay extra for breakfast at this hotel! They had a sign saying “New year, new breakfast” and I’m not sure what they are thinking with the dreadful buffet they are serving. Here is what they had: bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes (not bad, but maybe some cheese & or salsa for the dry eggs?), cold toast (with butter and strawberry jam), bananas, corn flakes, fruit loops, and a big bowl of plain yogurt (nothing to put in it, no honey, no granola, no fruit other than the bananas, who eats plain yogurt without anything in it???) To drink: coffee, tea, and one kind of artificial tasting juice punch thing. No other baked goods, no other fruit option. They ran out of napkins and after a long wait finally came in with paper towels from the bathroom. There was a sign saying they were charging $23 for this. We were given free breakfast for one day because of some problems at checkin and still didn’t think it was worth it. If we had more than one day free, we would not have gone back a second time.

There was also confusion about the hours. The first day we tried to eat there we called to check the hours, were told it went until 1030, roused the teenagers, got there about 20 minutes later, at a few minutes after 10 and were told they finish at 10.

Had a great experience overall. The hotel is beautiful and most of the staff were super friendly and made me feel welcome. My only issue was getting toiletries delivered to my room. I stopped a clerk on my floor to ask for a toothbrush and was told it would be dropped off at my room. Hours later and no toothbrush! I then went downstairs to the front desk and asked for the same thing and an hour passed by with no knock at the door. I had to call the desk to finally get someone to bring it up to the room. I did like "The Stash" room that they have on each floor where you can get thinks like extra pillows and hangers, etc. I just wish they had more everyday items that people would need in these areas so that we wouldn't have to reply on hotel staff for those types of items.

Moxy properties are always great to stay at for solo travelers in urban locations. The rooms are on the smaller side but still very pleasant with a comfortable bed and rain shower heads. I highly recommend this property as it is in a very central location in Manhattan at an affordably price.

We stayed for three nights in a double. The interior is very nice and modern, but I don't know how they are thinking when the rooms have practically no storage for unpacking of the suitcase. I bunch of hooks, some of which would completely hide the TV if used is the only option along with some room under the bed. Also, the showers sound horrible. If the next door neighbour is using the shower it sounds like if you are actually there with them. As showering commences at 5 am in the morning for jetlagged guests, it was impossible to sleep in. Breakfast was inlcuded during our stay and it was half decent. at 23 dollars it did't offer value for money in my opinion.

Fitness room was great and open 24/7 and like a said, common areas very chic.

I’m a bit surprised by the positive reviews that all clearly point out how tiny & closet-less the rooms are. I’ve stayed in Manhattan approximately 20 times, with many price ranges lower than our $400 room & this was by far the tiniest, most non-functional room in which I’ve ever stayed. They never should have booked this room for 4 people as it was simply 2 full (or less) sized beds pushed together end to end with a narrow walkway to the bathroom. We could not even put out suitcases out and had to leave almost everything packed for our entire 5 day stay. The rooms don’t even make use of smart storage or high shelving etc other than a small box below the bed. The pegs around the perimeter of the room were the most insane solutions for hanging clothing/hats I’ve ever seen. This was all topped off by a narrow sink with little storage space and a “lovely” view of the sad looking gray interior.

The only upside was joking & laughing about the rooms with fellow travelers in the bars. We got ready in shifts so made good use of the bars so 1-2 people could actually move around this unbelievable room.

If most definitely made me think of a youth hostel in a foreign country. I’m surprised they haven’t moved to bunk beds to cram even more rooms into this place...or maybe they have. One star for the shower & bars only.
