This hotel is an incredible addition to the Upper West Side. The lobby design feels Ralph Lauren inspired. It is a boutique hotel, and quiet. You will not find mobs of check-ins at a line of 5 front desk staff. We stayed for a total of 20 nights in July while our daughter was in a summer ballet program at Lincoln Center. We appreciated how low key it was, and how helpful the staff were. Justin and Betty could not have been more amazing! The 2 times we returned we felt as though we were returning to our own pied-a-terre. We loved being right between Central Park and Riverside Park, as well as easy walking distance from the train and multiple new favorite restaurants. Our rooms came with a fridge, not a mini bar, but there is a grocery a block away. We upgraded for part of our stay and had a microwave, which was nice for Chinese leftovers. This is not a hotel for those that want a "Plaza" experience with all the bells, whistles, pomp, and circumstance. However, it is beautiful, clean, updated, and quiet and absolutely perfect if you are over the hive inducing tourist hotels and nauseating chain stays. Also great for extended stays. …
What an absolute gem of a find in the UWS of Manhattan. Superb location close to shops, delicatessens, the subway and Central Park. Wonderfully peaceful and quiet street. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well designed. We didn’t want to leave. We will definitely return to The Wallace. Thank you to all the helpful staff.
Not a bad stay. Not out of the ordinary either. Rather pleasant, very clean room. Came with high expectations, not all of them were met. Would probably come back if we needed to stay at Upper West Side but didn't experience anything beyond the normal standard of a good hotel. Some staff were very friendly, some just ok - again, a very normal hotel experience. Don't really see where the raging reviews came from. Must mention that we booked the cheapest room category, maybe more expensive rooms have a view (ours faced walls and AC units and was rather dark) and an overall more enjoyable atmosphere.
This is a small boutique hotel but it does feel bit like ghost town . Rooms are nice but very little staff , no thing in the room's fridge. The room was clean and well. equipped but nit worth the money
Friendly staff. Great neighborhood. The frenzy of NYC is close by but this place is an oasis. If you're a runner, the Park is 1 mile East and the trail along the Hudson is 1/2 mile West. Great coffee, bakeries, food close by in a sunny friendly environment.
Our stay at the wallace was perfect, in all aspects. Staff was very, very friendly and helpful, rooms were spacious and very clean, location was just great. We extended our stay by one night and we will be back.
We love the Wallace for the location, the impeccable staff, value, quality of rooms. Our favorite place to stay in NYC. Our child is at Columbia University, closest hotel to school. About a 10 min drive. A few blocks from Central Park. Family area, safe, and close to a lot of great restaurants. They don't have a restaurant or bar yet but it's coming this fall. Rooms are spacious, clean, and lovely.
Very nice, quiet property on the upper west side of Manhattan. Rooms were well appointed with very well thought out details, such as the lighting and remote shades and beds were very comfortable. Staff was excellent and very attentive.
Just visited the Wallace for the second time in 6 months and while we were there, booked another visit in November! Spacious, beautiful rooms, a gorgeous welcoming entry, the kindest most helpful staff, a quiet hotel for peaceful sleep, and a great price. Can't wait to visit again soon!
Stayed at the Wallace for a mommy- daughter weekend get away. Location couldn’t be better and service rivaled or exceeded any other hotel I’ve stayed at. The staff made a point of welcoming my young daughter and making her feel special. Was the perfect place for our trip.
