We stayed at Pulse Xmas day for 3 nights. It's a great location just blocks from Bryant Park which was holding its winter festival, broadway, The Tree and SAK's 5th Ave window show. Whole Foods is a few blocks away. We walked from LIRR to and from the hotel.
The rooms are small and try not to get one next to the elevator. The elevators can get crowded and slow, I walked down from10th floor a few times it wasnt bad.We didnt have much of a view but who care we were out most of the time. Staff is friendly and they know the area. They served pastries one morning, coffee and tea everyday. We took the review of there properties and got $225 to their selected resturants went to the SeaFire Grill which had a outstanding lunch special for $41. We may make this a yearly event if we stay in town.

The Pulse NYC is centrally located and perfect if you want to walk to Times Square or Macy’s and which is just a few blocks away. Bryant Park is an easy stroll as is Whole Foods. The hotel has a bar on the ground level and a roof top location with an incredible view of the Empire State Building .

My stay at the Marriott Pulse would not be complete without a sincere round of thanks for the exceptional politeness and hospitality that Daniel Gomez and his team demonstrated during my stay at the property. By going above and beyond in every interaction with a guest, in my eyes Dan truly demonstrates the brand ambassadorship that is the ethos of the Marriott Group and central to the values that JW believed in. The disgusting Marriott Marquis needs to learn a thing or two about customer service from this humble cousin of theirs... which is better location, better value, better customer service and demeanour, and all around a very homely and congenial experience!

The rooftop bar has great drinks, live music, and an amazing close up view of the Empire State building! Magical evenings. There is a nice German "Reichenbach" biergarten (beergarden) next to the hotel. Fabulous experience sampling the malty German brews and stumbling back to the hotel :)

Marriott has truly become a home away from home with mostly dependable service and JW standards of hospitality 99% of the time. The bell staff here is super efficient and hard working and not tip hungry like other hotels... you literally have to call them out and ask them to accept gratuity/tip. Roni, Walter, Carlos in particular. Diana at the front desk is so polite and mostly has a YES response to any request. Randall at Concierge is very personable and a great conversationalist and also does a fine job at the complimentary wine and cheese evenings. The wonderful housekeeping team with Thai and Chinese background are super hard working and work diligently to keep everything shining and smelling good. All of these people truly made the Marriott experience feel like home and family.

There is always a bad apple and its best to know it so you can avoid them and prevent them from ruining an otherwise excellent experience - Michaela at the Front Desk... generally ticked off in life, rude attitude, lazy, does not want to answer questions, and will talk down to you if you ask/make more than one question/request. Avoid her like the plague and you will enjoy your time at this fine property.

Overall great staff, always courteous and they try their best.

Great location but it's a modest building with modest rooms that are under-furnished and under-equipped. Only two elevators so there was usually a wait.

In the rooms: no shelves, no console table, only one tiny table, no hooks/hangers. blinds were difficult to operate. No storage areas in the bathroom either. No utensils, or dishes, bowls, or plates or glasses. Had to request everything and everything was paper/plastic. There's a coffee maker but no toaster. In fact I was told there wasn't a toaster in the entire property!

The have a rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. But it's only open on weekends. We visited during the week and the ceiling was closed so the view was not as nice. We were told no bar but "BYOB and grab plastic glasses and cork opener from the lobby"...Ok

Attended a tasting with cheese/crackers & 5 dollar wine that's the worst wine I've had in recent memory. But at least they are nice to offer you something.

Housekeeping: Horrible. They should stop using Lysol. Room sprays will not make the rooms any cleaner! The sprayed the closet too so now the Lysol would surely get in guests' clothes. When I reported the excessive Lysol, the manager cited ""Covid regulations." Please stop trying to use Covid as an excuse for everything! It took 2 days to air the Lysol out.

The fitness center is small and also under-equipped. No water dispenser. No areas to strectch. No TRX, etc... During Covid it can really only handle 2 people max working out at once but no one seems to be watching or controlling anything. Mask guidelines at the gym are usually not followed and the staff themselves didn't know what the rules were despite there being a sign on the door stating that masks are required. Interestingly, they have this large office area next to the fitness ctr with two desktop computers "to print tickets"... Really? What year are we in 2022 or 1996? Everyone has a smartphone these days. What are we printing in these computers? Can't they procure the services of Kinko's/FedEX for the small number of guests that could need printing? That real state could see much better use. In my entire stay I never saw anyone there.

You couldn’t ask for a better central location than the Marriott Pulse. It was within walking distance toTimes Square, Madison Square Garden, the Theatre District , the subway and lots of restaurants at all price ranges and for all appetites. The staff are welcoming and efficient and the hotel overall was well-designed. Go up to the rooftop bar at night and bask in the luminescence of the Empire State Building. Or enjoy a croissant in the newly opened breakfast area. We did both.

The downfalls: we got locked in our room. The engineer even had trouble getting the door opened and it continued to be difficult every time we opened it. Scary. Thus the doors in our hallway made a lot of noise.

The shower leaks all over the bathroom floor. It was explained that is was a manufacturer’s design flaw. We went through eight towels for two people every day. (OK, because it was NYC we took two showers a day.) And there is room service only if you ask for it the night before.

And that rainfall shower that had little power. ☹️ It was difficult to get the soap out of my hair and rinse the private parts. Most hotels with rainfall showers also have handheld sprayers.

Overall, we were happy with our room. The space was adequate and even had a small armless couch. Of course, we spent little time sitting on it because we enjoyed what NYC had to offer!

It’s great to be back staying here. We loved our spacious, clean, well supplied room with a comfortable bed, a loveseat and a fridge. We appreciated the morning coffee and pre-packaged pastries served by a staff at the counter in the bright, clean, welcoming lounge area. The Top of the Strand rooftop bar was closed on the night we visited but we were able to access and admire the majestic Empire State Building looming close by, all lit up in Christmas color. Had a wonderful and relaxing stay.

This hotel is excellent. I lived in New York City in the '70s and was a little concerned about the Midtown location, thinking it would be too commercial and sterile. But good restaurants are nearby (including in "Curry Hill," an Indian neighborhood) and major subway lines make it easy to visit sites all over the city. Bryant Park, which is really lovely and European in its feel, with mature trees, wonderful landscaping, and little cafes, is a short walk away. Whole Foods is right there, too. I was concerned about street noise, but the hotel is on a pretty quiet street and I slept well. There was maid service, a rarity nowadays, and that was efficient and capable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for a week with my 2 adult daughters. The staff was wonderful from check in to check out. Everyone was very friendly, front desk staff were great. Concierge was very helpful. The morning mimosas' were a great way to start the day; the afternoon candy bar was fun; and the snacks were a treat. Our room was small but it is NYC so it is expected. The beds were comfortable and the view of the Empire State building was amazing. We did experience an issue with our room and after maintenance was not able to fix it we were immediately moved to another room that was bigger and nicer for the same price. We also received a bottle of wine w/glasses for the trouble. The staff were all great and went above & beyond. We will definitely stay again on our next trip to NYC. Wonderful experience overall!!!

This hotel is right next to a couple other Marriott properties and the service here at the pulse is fantastic. We enjoyed our stay, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even the front desk person who saw me in the bathroom cleaning my shirt mentioned to stop by the front desk. We appreciate the nice birthday touch in the room, and the fitness center treadmills and weights were clean and updated. Strongly recommend this property. Appreciate the well trained and caring staff.

The hotel is in a great location near Bryant Park. This is not a typical Marriott Vacation Club as the rooms are more of a standard hotel room rather than the villas or studios. There is a larger fridge and coffee machine in the room as well. The room is cozy and the one we where in had a small table that you could use as a make shift desk but does not have a work area if you need something larger. The staff overall is. Wry nice however the concierge that we talked to was not overly knowledgeable of the area which was a bit disappointing. The gym is pretty nice overall and has a few cardio machines, one bench with a range of dumbells, and a free range weight machine for a verity of exercises. It also has medicine balls, kettlebells, foam rollers and exercise mats. If you do drive the valet parking is $55 per night. I would come back here if I was looking for a quick getaway and not wanting to spend a lot of time in my room.
