The Peninsula New York has many pluses but a few minuses. On the plus side, it has an ideal location on Fifth Avenue and an opulent lobby. The rooms are a good size and surprisingly quiet given the central location. Bed and bedding were very comfortable. The marble bathroom is attractive and functional, with nice bath products, and my room had a separate bath and shower with good water pressure. A minus is that the technology in the guest room is in urgent need of an upgrade. For example, the room lacked a standard thermostat that you can use to set and maintain a steady temperature. Instead, there is a touchscreen near the bed that can only control the speed of the fan and turn the heat or AC up or down, but you don’t know the temperature in the room and can’t set the temperature of the unit. Oddly, there is a digital display that tells you the temperature outside but not the temperature in the room. The TV could also use an upgrade. My room also had an odd layout, with a foyer that seemed like wasted space. Also, I was disappointed that the front desk said no to my request for a 2 pm checkout, given that the Peninsula advertises “Peninsula Time,” which they bill as flexible check in and check out times. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but a few areas could be improved.

Once arrived at The Peninsula, the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff immediately made us feel at home. Elegant rooms, delicious food and a movie atmosphere will accompany you during your stay, you will never want to leave this wonderful property. Highly recommended for its strategic location between Rockefeller Center and Central Park.

I am a devoted fan of the Peninsula but it is only because nothing stands a chance to beat the personalized service a guest receives upon arrival . Checking on is so easy and flawless and the front desk staff doesn’t miss a detail. I should go back to the sidewalk when I arrive the doorman and bellman are really the face of the experience. They are at your service when you drive up to the hotel. Always attentive and make sure your luggage gets to the right place and greets the guest (me). Like they remove you from the last visit even if it’s been three years
The rooms are spacious and deluxe and have great views of fifth avenue I love the bathtub and the double sink and I feel like a princess every time I stay stay at the NYC peninsula
One of my favorite things to do is visit the spa, this time an amazing massage with a woman named Laura and a facial with Lumi back to back services and I was floating on a cloud. I love the locker room and the spa attendants they alway are waiting to take good care of all who arrive
Walking up to the pool up the wi ding staircase from the spa to the most wonderful I door pool and the views of fifth avenue from the pool area are spectacular and one of a kind. A great place to eat if you want to order lunch this is thru room-service
If you are a fitness buff or even if you are just into a light stroll on the treadmill this is by far one of the best gyms of any hotel on the city with amazing views of some of the best skyscrapers and an outdoor herb garden. On the 27tj floor. It’s just amazing
The roof top bar which is one of the highlights is a must see but get there early if you want a seat at the outdoor patio. It’s just as fun to sit at bar but take a look at the views
The management team , especially the personal attention the general manager pays to its guests is really what makes a regular visit to the Peninsula like a visit to a home away from home Rolf Buehlmann made sure to introduce himself to me and take great care to make sure I had everything I needed. He was also kind enough to say good bye when I left and make sure that I felt important like a VIP qnd I’m just a guest who loves the best hotel on class and this is it. It doesn’t get much better

Best to avoid if disabled. The Peninsula NY is a beautiful historic property in a prime location. The service and food are excellent for the most part. BUT, if you have a disability and cannot manage stairs this property is not very accommodating. The entrance has beautiful stairways lined with abundant flowers for guests who can manage steps. In contrast, the side entrance for disabled guests is cluttered with storage for the bell desk and has a single elevator to gain access to the lobby, which must be utilized to gain access to separate elevators to access the guest rooms. The single elevator on the ground floor is also the only way to access the rooftop bar so if you are trying to get to your room on a Friday night you may have to wait behind a line of bar goers just to gain access to the first elevator before you can take another elevator to your room. Easily a 20mon wait when they are busy. Once you finally gain access to the lobby, all of the disability lifts to the restaurants and lounges are locked. And, they use the adjacent areas for storage at Gotham lounge so good luck gaining access. If you are not disabled, I think this hotel has a lot to offer. If you are disabled and cannot manage stairs please consider a property under more considerate management. We did not ask for a dime in consideration, but we did ask for the disability lifts to be unlocked and the surrounding areas to be cleared during our stay and that was far too much to ask for.

My wife and I booked an overnight stay at the hotel through AmEx Platinum for a wedding in NYC. Overall, the (refurbished) room, concierge team, valet staff, room service, and breakfast at the Clement were all exceptional or better. We left our vehicle with the valet and checked in at their makeshift check-in desk around 2 p.m. on the day of arrival when I reconfirmed the overnight $105 charge for parking. That was consistent with the conversation I had with one of the concierge staff earlier in the week. At around 2:30 p.m. prior to our checking out around 3:45 p.m. the next day, I reviewed our bill with one of the members of the front desk staff who indicated there was no outstanding balance due at that time (given it was a pre-paid reservation) with only the $105 parking charge for the one-night stay and anything we charge at the bar, restaurant or room service prior to our checking out. However, when I went to check out, the person at the front desk said there was just "a parking charge and overage from breakfast" and offered to print out or send me an email of the bill to which I responded I would like an email (never received). As I was walking away to collect our luggage, I thought better of it and asked for a printed copy. Upon inspection, I saw that we had been charged for two days/nights parking for the roughly 25 1/2 hours it was garaged. If that is the policy, I would expect that to have been communicated to me at check-in or explained when I reviewed the preliminary bill prior to check-out. After I asked the bill to be adjusted, the staffer indicated it could not be done because, "It was a third party." I asked if she could raise the issue with the manager and she went into the office, returning moments later to tell me softly, "Sorry, it is a third party." Really, that's it? I would have thought the manager, Anisha, could have shown the least bit of concern and courtesy (in addition to backbone) by popping out of the office, only a handful of steps away from the front desk, and deign to speak to a guest. Perhaps I am being a bit unfair, but nonetheless I found the passive/aggressive reaction to be pretty weasel-y in a having a junior staffer meekly reiterate the initial message. I hoped for better under the circumstances and think a hotel of this caliber should aspire to be better.

The Peninsula is the Grande Dame of NYC hotels. You will definitely not get the hippest rooms with the most fancy decor, but everything is nicely appointed and extremely well kept and clean. Of course you will notice some wear and tear in the room but nothing really bothered us during our 3 nights stay in August. The rooms of the hotels sister property in Chicago are definitely more up to date, but compared to other hotels in NYC in the same price range The Peninsula is a very good choice. Having stayed at the Park Hyatt as well as Mandarin Oriental just a couple of weeks before, The Peninsula really makes up with its excellent staff and service. The contact prior to our arrival was perfect and all of requests were taken care of. During our stay every staff member was constantly smiling and very attentive.

Sadly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I’m normally a huge fan of the Peninsula and the five star service that comes with it but that wasn’t apparent here. I don’t believe the price per night here is justified at all.
The hotel firstly majorly lacks energy and spirit. There is no charm or liveliness and the staff especially the door men are not as welcoming as one would expect.
With the exception of Tony no one else had a jovial attitude. Many people standing by the doors and don’t say anything as you walk in or out. So strange and almost awkward. The Page Boy not properly greeting guests just standing there. You get the feeling that the staff don’t want to be there and that they don’t care.
The room felt aged, the lights flickered when on low in the bathroom, and the ac occasionally shook. One day the maids changed our temperature to 64 and we were so cold getting back into the room. Not very courteous.
The staff also lack team communication here. Many house internal communication issues went wrong during our stay. Overall I wasn’t impressed by anything here and I felt eager to change hotels which we ended up doing.

Always the best feeling to come back to one of the best places in the world. The hotel has been undergoing renovation and I was fortunate enough to stay in a renovated room on the 16th floor overlooking Fifth Avenue A larger room I think the grand deluxe and on a corner has got to be one of my favorites. I love the new beds , new televisions and amenities with great electronics added to the room . There is a beautiful mini bar which is a drawer that pulls out , a tea set and office items I love the linens and pillows and most of all the service
One very special addition is the hotel manager who is out from the west coast to stay I hope for a while. A true professional who cares about the guests and the hotel meeting everyone needs and standards. His name is Young Yoon and no one could do the job if a hotel manager better. Thank you Yiung for making my stay so delightful and special

We stayed at the Peninsula Hotel in NYC for 3 nights with our toddler - and they exceeded our expectations & made our sons first time to NYC memorable.
When we arrived, there was an adorable personalized gift waiting for him in the room & throughout the trip - the hotel left small surprises for him which he loved each night.
The location is great- the hotel staff was pleasant & the room was lovely, the toiletries were top notch. Our son loves swimming & they had life jackets, puddle jumpers and floaties for him to play with in the pool. Hard to find a hotel in Manhattan with a pool. so this was a plus!
There was an issue with the rate/booking being higher when we checked in vs what i booked through their website - but it was corrected after I spoke to the front desk.
Breakfast at Clements was delicious each morning - the only comments we had were 1) the coconut /chia pudding was pretty dry//thick/pasty - but very tasty. and 2) The Truffle omelette is for someone who REALLY loves truffles - its covered in truffle shavings & truffle oil in the eggs - it was just a bit too much truffle for us. These were small things that overall didn't detract much from the experience.
Thank you for the memorable stay.

My daughter and I had the most wonderful stay at the Peninsula NYC. We were so impressed with every single encounter, from the front desk (Ester was so charming and welcoming), doormen so helpful, bellman, room service... We were made to feel very special and valued as a customer. Also the hotel was so beautiful, clean and quiet rooms (little to no street noise, which is rare in NYC) and omg, the bed was luxuriously comfortable! They gave us an upgrade upon arrival which was so nice, and set the tone for our stay as special! We had a few special requests for gluten free and dairy free item from room service, which they provided without making us feel high maintenance for asking. The food and drinks were delicious and it was not a long wait for the food. The rooftop bar was extraordinary and a special place to be. I did not experience any snobby pretense, that I have experienced in other 5 star hotels, from anyone we encountered. Hand sanitizer and wipes were provided in room, and all staff wore masks at all times. We will be returning to this special hotel! Thank you for everything! We really felt valued and VERY comfortable.

I would call the hotel and ask them the best way to contact the Concierge. If you prefer to email him, I’m sure they would accommodate you with his email address.
