Sixty LES hotel garners praise for its prime location and stylish, spacious rooms that offer impressive views, according to several guests. However, some visitors have raised concerns about the housekeeping service and noise levels, especially those emanating from the vibrant nightlife. While the hotel's amenities, including a pool and on-site dining, are appreciated, the atmosphere is occasionally marred by reports of outdated hallways and cleanliness issues.
Travelers commend the attentive staff, though experiences with service can vary. Additionally, the perceived value for money is a point of contention, with some guests disappointed by unexpected fees.

Detailed Reviews
Location, location, location. The SIXTY LES puts you right in the heart of Manhattan's vibrant downtown scene, at a near-perfect crossroads of the Lower East Side, East Village and Soho. For my money, this lively hood provides the best restaurants, shopping, live music venues, and people-watching that the city has to offer. Even better, the location provides easy access to the rest of Manhattan thanks to a subway stop and Citibike dock that are just steps away from the hotel's entrance. All that aside, the SIXTY LES gives good stay. Despite the hipster vibe, the staff are warm and very eager to be of service. The compact gym had everything I needed (including a sauna!), and was gloriously empty whenever I went down for a workout. The pool was closed but pretty to look at, and you could do a whole lot worse than Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya on the second floor. And now for the room. Upon checking into my LES Queen Studio for a one-night stay, I was casually informed that I had been upgraded to Penthouse 1 – a random act of kindness that may have spoiled me for life. The palatial room on the 21st floor is literally the size of my house, with two floors, three bathrooms, a kitchenette, a terrace offering unbeatable views of the city in three directions, the comfiest bed in Christendom, and the most glorious bathroom I have ever experienced – complete with a soaking tub that looks like a Richard Serra sculpture. I kept kicking myself that I was there for a whirlwind business trip, and didn't have time to luxuriate in my surroundings. After years of favoring The Standard for my East Village stays, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be returning to the SIXTY LES from now on.

The hotel’s rating wasn’t high, and I hesitated a bit before booking. However, it turned out to be much better than I expected.
The front desk staff were very caring and attentive to our needs. Although the hotel is a bit old, our room had a great view. Standing by the large floor-to-ceiling windows gave a sense of openness. The room was spacious, and I had no complaints about that. However, it felt slightly less clean than I would have liked—not to say it wasn’t cleaned properly, but the marble materials may have made it seem more worn.
Since I was traveling with a child, they gave us a room near the elevator (perhaps the elevator noise helps mask a toddler’s crying?). The downside was that the room wasn’t very quiet; we could hear the sound of the elevator going up and down and doors opening.
The location is excellent, with lots of boutiques in the Lower East Side. One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was for the pool, for which there was an additional $40 fee at check-in. However, to my surprise, the pool was full of moths during August in NYC, their bodies floating everywhere, which made it unusable. That explained why no one was at the pool on such a beautiful day.
Another issue was the shower in the bathroom. I couldn’t figure out how to get hot water, and since it was late at night, I didn’t want to make a call to the front desk (although I’m sure they would have helped). Given the warm weather in August, I managed with a cold shower, but it wasn’t an ideal experience.

Hello Tribecca C! We sincerely appreciate the feedback from your recent stay here at SixtyLES. We love when we are able to exceed expectations! The cleanliness of the pool is concerning to hear, and we are so sorry that you had to experience that. We are confident that this is an isolated incident, and will review with our pool team to see where we may be able to improve. Overall it was great to hear that you enjoyed our spacious rooms and welcoming staff. Hope you are able to come back again soon for another great stay!

We love Sixty hotels and try to stay at them when possible. The location of LES is great because it is extremely easy to get uptown, over to Soho and the Village and even out to Brooklyn. Also a great area for cheap late night food, well-known restaurants, and unique thrift shops. The pool deck and bar is a great asset for a summer stay and is very cozy.
However, you definitely have to come to this hotel KNOWING that there is a club in it that makes the weekends a bit tough. Even on the upper floors, you can definitely hear the bass until 3AM at least. I would probably not recommend this hotel if you are not coming to NYC with the intention of taking advantage of the "city that never sleeps" reputation — or if you have kids that are light sleepers.
Overall however, the rooms are clean and swanky with nice showers, big windows, and an appropriate amount of space for the price, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I wish the beds were more comfortable, for sure, but otherwise this is a great value for the price and we have enjoyed our stays immensely.
Last tip — bring one of those crocodile hair clips to clip the curtains together around the column in the room to avoid the issue some people are reporting around light coming in in the morning. Works like a charm!

Requested and confirmed early check-in was available. When I arrived I was informed my room was not available but if I was willing to upgrade $50/night they could immediately check me in…extra $200.
Requested a tea and kettle be sent to the room, they sent up 4 coffee pods and a filthy kettle that had a palm leaves in it.
Carpeting was filthy and they didn’t vacuum throughout the stay.
Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything my neighbor was discussing on the phone at 3am.
No glassware in the room, requested it from front desk, they sent me to Blue Ribbon sushi on the second floor and they refused to provide glasses as they aren’t owned by the hotel.
The entire stay was a comedy of errors.

We booked Sixty LES with the assumption that it would be a well-designed and well-maintained property in a hip part of NY. We were taken aback by the non-existent to then unfriendly welcoming committee upon check in. Unprovoked, they acted as if we had inconvenienced them just by saying “we’re checking in”. The absurdity doesn’t stop there.
We wait patiently for the ONE working elevator to take us to our room. This was the case the entire time. One elevator for god knows how many people. We step in and immediately felt like this thing is a death trap. The door is so banged up and the whole elevator so shoddily put together and out of date, we had no clue if we’d make it to our room alive. In fact, every trip in this contraption felt like a rolling of the dice on our lives. It is that dingy and scary.
The hallways are very outdated with fake orchids and a horrible piss yellow tint to the walls. Horrible LED lighting gives a cheap glow to the corridors. Not sexy at all. Various stains adorn the carpets leading you to your room. I’d say the only good thing was the room because it was very spacious. But you’d have to forgive the mystery stains on the couch and mismatched pillows.
The cherry on top: we needed more towels after day 1 and we called housekeeping. They told us (I kid you not) “we’ve run out of towels”. That’s as absurd as telling guests in a hotel that you’ve run out of toilet paper! They never cleaned our room despite asking them to and came back to an unmade bed…and no towels. Thankfully, on the day of our checkout, it took 3 calls to front desk to get housekeeping to bring up towels so we could shower and leave. Upon leaving, it again felt like a gamble on our life getting in that scary elevator. Quite frankly, the entire property could use new management, better staff and renovated systems and decor. For the price we paid, we could have stayed at much nicer hotels in the area. A total ripoff. Never again!

I don't like to give businesses bad reviews but I feel compelled to let people know that this hotel is not worth the price they charge per night at all. The staff seems frazzled and unfriendly (except for one guy named Marco) I had put on my reservation check in on line that I need 2 non down feather hypoallergenic pillows for my stay. They were not in my room upon arrival. I called down and requested them and when I returned late that evening they were not in my room. I called the front desk the next day and requested again. Once again I did not receive them. So I had to stop at the desk on the way in that evening to ask for a 4th time... I was told they have been very busy that's why I never received them (SMH) Finally did get them that night, but that didn't help me sleep because the LOUD house music and people partying that I heard until 2am from our 16th floor room was ridiculous. Now let's add the loud sex the couple was having next door to us to the mix. The walls are so thin and there is absolutely no sound barrier from other rooms or the outside street noise. The hallway smelt like fried chicken for some reason, lol. Our room was also near the elevator, once again noise from the opening and closing, bell dinging, and people talking. All in all an awful stay. Bad customer service, bad vibes, lack luster amenities... they have a tiny pump pot of coffee at the entrance in the morning and it was gone when I got to it, I asked the front desk if they will be refilling it and the girl said yes, he went to get it... waited 15 minutes and then left to go find a hot cup of coffee elsewhere. The only good thing was the view from our room. Do yourself a favor and find a different hotel to stay at, there are many to choose from on the Lower East Side.

I stayed eight nights in October 2021 and reserved a small suite with a terrace on the fifth floor. The terrace was only a standing terrace, much to my chagrin. Apparently someone decided it is too narrow for a table, but a small table and two chairs, which would have made a difference, e.g.,coffee in the morning and/or a glass of wine or a cocktail before dinner would have made a big difference. To me, the room was a $4,000+ waste of money.
There was an extensive bar, but no coffee maker, nor microwave, which were disappointing. I purchased a Mr. Coffee and was subsequently told the hotel has a coffee maker, if I had asked. Why wasn’t I told this when I checked in? Hotel front desk couldn’t say. Additionally, there wasn’t an Info Sheet of any kind in my room, which would have helped provide details about using the heat and air conditioning, operating the TV, hotel restaurants, about going to the Front Desk if you want a Do Not Disturb notice for your door, the location of nearest subway, neighborhood restaurants & coffee shops, etc.
Depending on the elevator you use, you have to select Floor #1 or Floor #2 in order to reach the lobby and exit the hotel. The walls are thin, as I heard people talking & TVs in other rooms and people talking in the hall, which wasn’t great. One major problem was the music and dancing that occurs each Saturday night. It was 1:30 AM before the music stoppe and I could fall asleep. Again, I was listening to people’s conversations & laughter until almost 2:00 AM. The walls & floors are far (far) too thin in this hotel for music, dancing, drinking, etc. on the 7th Floor until 2:00 AM - c’mon! Not great after paying $4,000+ for one week.
Also, I left empty food containers in & next to the trash almost daily, but housecleaning didn’t always take it/them. I had to call Maintenance to remove the trash. One day, I turned on cold water in the bathroom sink and it was discolored. Maintenance came up and advised that I leave the water running until it clears. It took 15-20 minutes before the water was clear, again. Last, when I turned off the TV in the sitting room, the TV automatically came on in the bedroom
On the plus side, the staff are terrific if you need something/anything. They are polite and helpful at every turn! Aside from housecleaning, who didn’t recognize the “Do Not Disturb” notice whenever I hung it outside my door, everyone else on staff are just exceptional. I was very grateful for the staff’s kind attention and care.

Let’s start with this… I am a travel agent and counseling practice owner. Down to earth used to homeless now middle working class. That’s who this review is from so that’s important perception info. I have been on food stamps now I have 10 staff working in my practice.
So here we are I search for two months for best deal and I went with this one base on reviews and cost and location. When I tell you if you want sleep and class don’t even finish this review just go elsewhere run and please save yourself. Ever review that I read time and time again that tried to warn me I ignored worst mistake ever. Lobby looks like it hasn’t had furniture cleaned since the day the place was built. Ghetto and dark and unclean showers have remnants of previous guests upon the glass inside o dictating zero cleaning. Makeup not matching my skin color upon on the left side of bed indicting absence of sheet removal in between guests. Light switches are a puzzle that can’t get sleep cause lights can’t go out as they are a puzzle that after 3 days 3 nights you still cannot solve the riddle same goes for the sink and shower nobs horrific to say the least. And please please please do not attempt to go to social club you can enjoy that from the discomfort of your very own 2500 plus 500 incidentals nonluxurious room. I will say it had basics of survival and no bugs and I ran across a couple nice staff, location was good and that’s about it ohh wait they did have a fridge stocked with cost but that’s a plus if you need it. Iron and tv also present I wouldn’t have touched their showering products if it was half as bad as they hand soap I probably would’ve ended up in the ER.

Cleanliness and comfort are our top priorities, and I apologize that we fell short in those areas. Sadly, the reviews were right.
Some highlights:
Housekeeping was on point
Staff seemed friendly
Lowlights:
I stayed in a king suite, which had its own shower and tub. Awesome I thought. But it all smelled of mildew and the tub had clear signs of mold in the crevices.
The bed was definitely not a king size, as advertised as you’d expect in a “King Suite.” As someone who owns a king bed at home I was certain this bed was a queen at best.
Paper thin walls as other reviews have mentioned. I could hear when my neighbor was showering. And I was kept up when the night club played music into the night (beware of staying Thursday - Sunday)
Shared balconies as a king suite so keep this in mind if you’re considering booking.
Poor finishing to the paint and fixtures, don’t believe the marketing photos
All in all, my work paid for this big room. But even for a free stay I would not return.
Some highlights:
Housekeeping was on point
Staff seemed friendly

I want to preface this review by saying if it wasn’t for Marcos we would have had a terrible experience and a much lower rating. My friends and I booked Sixty LES for the Allen suite. Upon arrival to the room we realized that the balcony is a shared balcony with the entire floor. We were very uneasy about this being three young women. When we opened our sofa bed it was dirty and very janky.
We went downstairs and spoke to somebody in the lobby about switching us into a room without a balcony or with a King bed. We were told by this employee that there are no rooms available and every room with a king bed has a balcony. We went back upstairs to weigh out our option and decided that we were going to cancel our reservation and find a different hotel. When we went down to cancel it we were greeted by Marcos. An absolutely amazing employee. He was able to accommodate us and got us a room WITH a King bed and NO balcony (that the other employee told us didn’t exist).
We were made aware that there is a price difference that will be accommodated at check out. Once it came time to check out a different employee told us it was only gonna be a $40 difference in the room pricing. So they wanted us to pay $3200 for a room with one king bed and no balcony when that is how much we were paying for a SUITE with a balcony and separate living area. Once again we found Marcos and spoke to him and he was able to honor the price difference and give us the correct pricing.
I really didn’t want to believe the bad reviews about the terrible customer service in this hotel since it’s in such a prime location and very convenient. However, the customer service truly is terrible with the exception of Marcos. He was the only employee that wanted to help and actually cares about the guests. If it wasn’t for him our stay would not have gone as good as it did. The level of care he puts into his job needs to be recognized and rewarded.

Neither the Jr suite nor the Premium Jr suite has a balcony. The difference between the two is the Premium Jr suites are on the high floors while the Jr suites are on low floors.
Hi,
The king studio does not have the same layout as the Jr. Suite. The Jr suite, has a sofa and living area. Both the Jr suite and the king studio come with a balcony.
The hotel does not have its own parking. However there is street parking as well as a garage two blocks away. Both have a charge.
