My husband and I make overnight visits to NYC to see a show or visit museums. I always book near where we are going and for the best reasonable price. I’m seeing a pattern emerge. We like the Warwick the best. Location is great - near Moma, Central park and theater district. It’s an old hotel in great shape. You might say it has good bones. Nice lobby with doorman, great staff at desk, on site bar and restaurant, not too big. More important- rooms are comfortable and thoughtful- has enough plugs for gadgets, easy coffee maker, really comfortable beds, soundproof. It’s an old building with real wood doors. You can see that it’s a solid building that’s been maintained well and the staff knows it’s stuff.

We stayed here for four nights mid week and got a great rate for a city view double. When we arrived we decided to upgrade to a king suite for a small extra fee. This gave us a king bed in a larger room, larger bathroom and sizeable pull out sofa for our teenage son. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable. The room was quiet and a perfect amount of space for us. The temperature was always suitable and we didn’t feel the need to run the AC. The room wasn’t well stocked when we arrived, no coffee or extra bedding for the pullout but housekeeping quickly responded. The only other issue we had was no towels one day (they were taken but not replaced) but again, quickly remedied with a phone call. All the staff were very friendly and responsive. MoMA is directly across the street, Rockefeller Centre and Central Park are both just a few blocks away. You can’t beat the location, comfort and style of this hotel. It was my third stay and will always be my first choice when I visit Manhattan in the future.

Stayed here for 3 nights for business. Classic NY hotel, and a landmark in its own right. The hotel has a great midtown location, easily accessible by subway or cab. Hotel furnishings are all classic with an early 20th century vibe. Unfortunately, a lot of that history carries over to make the hotel feel its age. Holes from fixtures previously hung on the wall remain. Elevators can be slow, especially during busy times of the day. I don't recommend ingesting the brown hot water from the tap (see photo). The gym lacked cleaning wipes during my entire stay. One of the three treadmills was missing its safety key, making it inoperable. The room itself was relatively quiet, with street noise (on the 6th Ave side) audible but not obtrusive. Mine was spacious (especially by NYC standards). Bed and pillows were comfortable. Aside from the brown hot water, the bathroom is typical NYC-tight. Staff do not seem particularly eager to make your stay awesome. I'll will stay here when work compels it, but it will not likely be my first choice for a midtown stay.

Dear offthewalls, Thank you again for staying with us. We appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the spaciousness of our rooms and the location of the hotel. However, I would like to apologize that you had issues during your recent stay. We received the missing part for our gym equipment and it was fixed. We do perform preventative maintenance to make sure as well that our rooms are up to standards. We will make sure that corrections are done accordingly. As with the brown water, we already asked our Engineers to look into this issue and make sure that it is fixed. I am hoping that you will be able to give us another opportunity in the future. Regards,

This is our usual hotel in NYC. We used to live in the area, so we have friends and relative that live in NYC and Long Island. The hotel is very comfortable, well located at a reasonable price. It is nice to have the bar off the lobby for a drink or to meet people. Note some room have interior views that are not so great.

I had stayed at the Warwick over 50 years ago - and had quite forgotten what a wonderful hotel it was. Friend with whom I was traveling had stayed there recently and recommended that we stay there. What a pleasant suprise. The hotel may be one of the older hotels in the city - but the hotel rate and the great staff are "top notch"! The restaurant is also extremely good, well priced and the waiters are very attentive, I would certainly recommend the Warwick for its staff, its location and their very fair rates. From now on the Warwick will be my hotel of choice for any trip to NYC!

Really, to read some of these reviews, one wonders what people expect. The Salisbury having been demolished, we stayed here for the first time for our first trip back to NYC since the pandemic. We loved it. The staff could not have been more accommodating (early check in, late check out). The room (by NYC standards) was large (~350 ft2), with high ceilings, lovely marble bath, real furniture made of actual wood, a king-sized bed that was actually a king, not a queen, lovely heavy drapes. So okay, the view out the window was an air shaft. So what? Who stays in their hotel room in New York? We never had a problem waiting for an elevator. Super convenient location. Superbly quiet. And for this silent film buff, a happy surprise -- photos of Marion Davies in our room (and throughout the hotel). Turns out the hotel was built by her paramour, William Randolph Hearst, and she had a suite in one of the towers. Pros: many; cons: none. Ignore the naysayers and reserve without qualm -- unless you're a fan of the current sterile style of hotels, you will be very happy here.

Would really give this hotel a wide birth if you want to keep your money, when booking the hotel we were made aware of city taxes which I knew we would have to pay! When we checked in, they took a deposit of $200 for city taxes and incidentals which isn’t unusual When we came to check out we were landed with a bill of $175 for hotel fees, I queried this as it wasn’t mentioned when checking in (why would they) and it covers the gym and Wi-Fi which when we checked in we were told these were FREE Queried with the lady checking us out and she wasn’t bothered, her attitude and customer service was disgusting When giving our bags to the concierge and querying him on these fees he said it’s a stealthy way to get more money out of its customers and it’s a common theme with many guests not knowing this is due Location was fantastic but feel cheated and mislead by the hotel, would really advise anyone looking at staying here to avoid at all costs

Dear F4311FHmatth, Thank you again for staying with us. We appreciate your feedback. All our reservations are being charged the mandatory facility fees as noted on the confirmation letter wherever you book your reservation. I enjoyed my stay at the Warwick for the most part. The staff were top notch, friendly and professional. It sits in a great location for mid-town and theater activities. The food in the restaurant (Murals) was terrific and the lobby bar was fun. The room was clean and comfortable and the price was right, but the bathroom in the room was absolutely tiny. I have never seen such a small bathroom in a hotel before in my life, including old European hotels that converted to en suite. I am not a big person and I barely had enough room to shave. I probably will stay there again on business because I enjoyed the staff so much, but I don’t think I would stay there if there two of us in the room.

The doorman was welcoming, as were Mark and Francine at the front desk who were also cordial and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Emani was a gracious host at breakfast at Murals. Ronda was a timely and plesant waiter, as was the workers around her - the food was very fine. Grace at dinner was a gracious host and waiter and knew her wines. The Asian fusion food was very good. Randolfs is a lovely bar nice customers and the bartender was pleasent and timely though she was busy. The staff at The Warwick are all professional, cordial and well trained. The cleaning person was very accomdating, which was helpful. The location is great, near MOMA and Central park.

Enjoyed nicely remodeled room with a terrace. It was nice to have outdoor space! I wasn’t expecting a friend to come along when I booked so I slept on a very old rollaway with springs sticking in my back.
