I’ve stayed in little Italy prior to this and thought well, I don’t plan to stay in the room long. Why pay extra for parking and all the other amenities that I didn’t plan to use; gym, pool etc etc. I was only in San Diego for the day and that evening I had planned to watch a show so technically, I would be in the room maybe 5 hours. Gosh, was I wrong; it was the hottest day in San Diego, everyone we spoke to kept saying how the heat wave was craaazyyy. We arrived a bit early because we had come from the desert (Temps at 112) Although the weather was better it was still extremely hot.
The rooms are sooo plain but I can’t complain the AC and fridge worked. The shower pressure is terrible, the microwave was missing the outer part but didn’t use it. The beds were not comfortable and towels, hard on the skin. All I can say is you get what you pay for….

I was here just one night - last night- and stayed in room 404. Thankfully the room doesn’t face the street but a back parking lot and the freeway. The roar of traffic is dulled. Planes flying over are heard as well but honestly I was so exhausted after flying for 12 hours I passed out anyway. The small room was clean and there are some toiletries provided. There is also a room fridge. The bed is INCREDIBLY comfortable. I mean, my god, I slept so well. Great pillows and mattress. Very pleasant front-desk receptionist.

Ok, I'm seriously about to leave and it's 3:00am. I have tried to sleep....for several hours now. THIS PLACE IS JUST LOUD! There is a musty aroma as soon as you walk in.
First of all, I will give a slight plus. The front desk lady was nice and for the most part, everything was clean, most importantly the sheets. There was a hair in the tub, and as gross as that is, I let it slide and let the water run it down the drain before hopping in.
Although the bedding appeared and smelled clean but is not comfortable at all.
Thank goodness the fridge works.
The parking lot is no fun! It's one way, cars are parked close together and it's so narrow, it's very hard to get out of. I was scared to hit surrounding cars. If the lot is filled, parking is not easy to find, and it's not the safest area to be walking alone at night. Now let's get to the noise and the reason I may just leave in the middle of the night... I can hear EVERYTHING! The walls are paper thin. I can here when the guy in the next room goes into the bathroom, I can hear him talking on the phone word for word and now, I can hear him snoring!!! LOUDLY!!! When people walk up the hallway, it shakes the room. I asked if I could switch rooms.. There are none... Don't think it would matter much anyway. You can also hear everything outside. The freeway almost goes over the hotel.. Literally right next too the hotel so it's just very loud. I've tried using a white noise app, but this guy's snoring is intense.

Don't stay here. My room smelled like piss, it's not clean, parking lot is small, and the homeless literally check the doors to see if they're open because some of the rooms are outside the hotel. Friends said they had hair in their bed and bathtub

Amicable front desk clerk. The young lady was very considerate of a hiccup during a third-party reservation site, and very politely informed us of a solution with which we were able to check in under 10 minutes. Corner store less the 600ft away.

The Inn was sufficient. It has a small, uncovered/ungated parking lot (which was free as a bonus), and the area does have homeless, but it is super convenient to the restaurants and night life of Little Italy (within 2 blocks). I felt safe walking to restaurants, but would recommend leaving your vehicle empty overnight.

Great location with an affordable price. Everything was within walking distance: Amtrak station, restaurants, and bars. I would recommend my friends and family to stay at this hotel.
We have enjoyed the farmer's market and little Italy.

I reserved a suite at this establishment for two nights & was told that
it normally went for $200 a night. Being an entertainment club member
entitled me to the discount rate of $89 per night. Upon arriving, try
to imagine my surprise as I found a place that looked like it should be
charging hourly (prostitution) rates. This hotel was completely
unacceptable. What I would call a dump. Just so we're clear on what my
definition of a dump is:

1. The elevator was so old (two sets of doors to close) that there were signs posted all around it warning you of the dangers of riding in case of a power outage. The signs mentioned that if the power went out, you would be stuck in the elevator until help arrived. This is San Diego, does the power really go out that much or is the elevator in such poor shape that it souldn't be used? Another set of signs requested that "in consideration of other guests, please close the elevator doors quietly".

2. Upon arrival, our room smelled as though it hadn't been opened in quite some time. Very stuffy & smelled of bug spray. I made reservations, the manager even called my home to see if we were still coming once it got to be "late". Yes, I did tell her that we would be coming in at night time as we were travelling from Universal Studios that day. She acted very put out that we had caused her to wait up for us by arriving around 10 pm.

3. Stains all over the carpeting.

4. Blankets that did not fit over the entire bed. The three beds that we had were all queen size, but the blankets in the front room were maybe full size.

5. Balcony appeared to be separating from the building.

6. Trash (beer caps, cigarette butts and ashes) on the balcony.

7. No "Spectacular view of" anything. In order to catch a glimpse of any water, you had to be on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.

8. My mother found a band aid (used) in the bed she was sleeping in. What kind of a health hazard is that? Had I known this the first night, we would have left then. I was unaware until the morning, so we checked out then. What else was in those sheets that we couldn't see?

9. The paint was peeling in several places and the balcony door had wood peeling off of it.

10. No ice machine - when I called to ask where the ice/vending machines were, the manager gave me directions to the nearest liquor store.

11. No clock, no television in the "bed room", the remote for the 1 tv we did have was taped across the back to hold the batteries in since there was no cover, holes in the tops of the furniture where other items used to be bolted down, cords draped across some of the other furniture to plug in the 1 tv, etc..

I probably would have simply checked out after the first night & left
well enough alone, however the manager refused to credit me back for
the second night. Now I feel that it is my obligation to get the word
out that this place is so lousy.

When we went to the office to check out, the manager was not around.
She was apparently out until between 12 and 1:00. Fine, I said that I'd
call then but that I had plans for the morning. I gave the dirty band
aid to the gentleman in the front office & let him know that that had
been found in the bed & that we were checking out because the hotel did
not meet our expectations. I have also seen other advertisements for
this hotel since our stay & need to mention that the ads promise a free
continental breakfast that we were not offered.

When I called the manager back after 1:00, she refused to give me any
credit for having had such a horrible experience. She was rude & told
me that "no hotel in the world changes its sheets every day." Well,
maybe not every day, but they certainly are required to do so in
between customers. She told me that since I had reserved for two nights
that was what I had to pay for. That should not be the case since they
did not deliver what they had promised. In addition, I asked to speak
with the management company & she refused to give me a phone number for
them. She told me that I would have to write a letter to them if I
wanted anything done.

If it's letter writing she wants, then that is what she will get. I
will forward this letter to every agency I can think of in the state of
California & the city of San Diego to be sure that this does not
continue.

I planned to stay with my boyfriend on this nightmare hotel (that I thought it was really nice with the pictures that they have in the internet) but let me tell you this, this hotel is very bad, its awful, there's no room service, inside the room is very old it scares you right away you walk in and the bathroom is small and dirty to use the toilet you had to go up a big stair that made you feel like if you were in the air, the towels had a lot of stains, the cabinets are falling apart, the refrigerator very dirty and old, the room had a very bad smell, the elevator, oh my God the elevator is very but very old it scares you even if you just see it, I wanted my money back I wanted to leave right away but the lady in the office said that they already charge my credit card 'cause I made reservation on-line for Saturday night to Monday morning and that she had to talk to her manager. My boyfriend and me talked about it and there was no way we were going to find another hotel because of the holiday (Memorial Day) and it was Saturday night. There was no other way out, so we had to stay. This might be a big warning for you that my boyfriend and I may give you. We recommend you not to stay in this horrible hotel, you will regret it, we did since we saw the hotel!
