I stayed at Oasis for one night on a business trip. It was perfect. Very cute with friendly staff, fast wifi, fine breakfast and everything I needed. Oasis almost felt like a little slice of Europe here in the US. It made me nostalgic for my backs king days!

Thank you Rachel, we're grateful to you for sharing your rating and feedback, and we're truly happy that you had a perfect stay with us. Yes, our business is like a European B&B in many ways, and we're doing our best to make it feel a little bit like a home away from home for every one of our guests. We're happy we achieved that goal for you. Thanks again!

Property's Favorite Review
Oasis Guest House is true to its name; a quiet respite in the midst of a bustling, vibrant city. The staff are warm and welcoming and attentive both to their guests and to details that enhance the operation of the facility. Reservations were simple online. Communication was prompt and direct – a welcome email with guest house information and an on-line registration link, allowing for swift check in upon arrival. Due to my schedule, I had the opportunity to stay in two different rooms, and both were immaculate and comfortable. Accommodations are simple, but functional. A light breakfast is available -- fresh-cut fruit, assorted breads and pastries, cereals, yogurt – a good start to the day! The website accurately reflects the nature and condition of the guest house. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe. A block off Mass Ave, two blocks from eateries on Boylston, three blocks from Hynes Convention Center and the T, within a 20-minute walk to the Museum of Fine Arts and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum along the Fenway, the location is ideal. As an older woman, travelling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. Clean, peaceful, convenient, and served by a lovely staff. I highly recommend Oasis Guest House.

This guesthouse exceeded our expectations. Wonderful area, close to everything. Great access to dining, shopping, and transportation ( T line). Our room was clean and comfortable, great breakfast each morning. Staff was readily available and super friendly. Reminded us of some European B and B,s we’ve stayed in. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

We had a couple of days in Boston to walk the Freedom Trail, visit the Boston Tea Party Museum and have a pint in the Cheers bar so were looking for a B&B within walking distance of these attractions. The Oasis appeared to fit the bill. When we arrived we were greeted by Mike who showed us to our room. We opted for one with en suite bathroom. It was smaller than typical hotel rooms but big enough for our needs. The bed was big and comfortable and the room was quiet. The shower was a good one. The ethos is very much about having respect for other guests which creates a lovely atmosphere. The breakfasts had everything one needed and was plentiful with Mike topping things up at regular intervals so nobody went hungry. Now, the location of the property is on a quiet street in what appears to be a theatrical area as there were lots of students giving it a lively but friendly vibe. It also felt safe walking around. Mike explained the best route to walk and it was easy to pick up Boylston Street, a wide road, flat and easy to walk. It took us about 30 mins to walk to Boston Common and a little longer to walk to the Tea Party. There was not the same level of homelessness as it other US cities we have visited which gives it a more relaxed feel. There is a supermarket close by so we bought sandwiches and salads etc for our lunches/dinners. On one day it rained all day but our hosts loaned us umbrellas to help stay dry. It was clear that our hosts are proud of their home and want their guests to have an enjoyable stay. We certainly did and would definitely recommend staying here.

Well, OK, this hotel isn't for everyone. But, I gotta say, my wife and I really loved it. Before you go there, you'll need to know what your comfort zone is. First, if you're looking for a comfortable room in Back Bay, near the art museums, Fenway Park, Symphony Hall, great restaurants, and all that is being offered on Newberry Street, and -- very importantly -- for a very reasonable price, this is your hotel. That reasonable price includes a very good continental breakfast. I should have been satisfied with granola, berries and yogurt, but the pastries were too good to pass up. And the best part about breakfast was all the interesting people there. All kinds of people. From all over the world. They were fascinating. Now, the quirky parts. The staff generally is friendly and helpful. But there's one or two that are a little bit prickly. If you expect to be uniformly deferred to, this isn't your place. Ya gotta go with the flow here. The rooms are comfortable but small. Also, there's no elevator and the stairs are narrow and winding. The staff will offer to help with luggage, but, honestly, if I couldn't have dealt with the luggage myself, I would have wanted a first floor room. Which you can request.

Thank you for sharing your rating and candid feedback, we're grateful to you and very happy that you and your wife loved your stay with us. We're sorry if you found and of the staff not to be friendly all times, we're always trying our best to keep a smiling and welcoming demeanor. Yes, the room can be smaller, depending upon the type of room one selects. For the benefit of all readers, we have 10 types of rooms of varying sizes, bed configurations, type of bathroom (private, or shared), and price points. And yes, we have stairs, but no elevators. We want all guests to know that in advance so they can make informed decisions. Again, we thank you for your feedback.

This guest house accommodated our request for an early check in and all the staff were very kind. The room was clean and basic- which was all we wanted after wandering Boston’s streets. We especially enjoyed the location, so close to Fenway, with many places to eat close by and in a safe/ pleasant neighborhood. The coffee and bagels/baked goods gave us what we needed before we hit the road. We’d gladly stay here again.

The highlight of this stay was the location. For the price and the easy connection to almost everywhere one would want to go in Boston, this place is amazing. Although spartan, the rooms were serviceable if all you are using the hotel for is sleep, and the beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. The convenience and price are unmatched.

This place is a gem! From the warm, welcoming greeting to the continental breakfasts, to the spotless bedroom and, although shared, the freshest bathroom ... couldn't have had a better experience. This clean, well-maintained B&B is run independently, like a family business. They’re keen for you to know it’s not a hotel, and, archetypally, they have a fair number of rules, mainly to protect their property (e.g. from hair dye and strong scent) and the peace of the other residents. The location is superb: MFA and the Public Garden are within a walk, Harvard too if you’re fit, and a good choice of restaurants and bars is close by. Rooms are kept at 70F, which is warm enough; the bed was comfortable, and the street outside was quiet. They are serviced on alternate days. My double was on the small side, but this is midtown Boston. My en suite bathroom (with bath/shower) was big enough. The main downside for me was the absence of coffee/tea making in the room: there is a communal kitchenette, but you’re not allowed to use it overnight because there’s a guest room next to it - problematic for early risers who need a hot drink to wake up. It has a microwave, “boiling” water on tap, and a fridge, and this is where the simple breakfast is laid out. The welcome is friendly, and you won’t find a standard hotel this comfortable for this price at this location. I would certainly stay there again - with a vacuum flask.

Thank you for sharing your rating and feedback, we're very happy that you had a good stay with us! Most guests agree with you, the location is absolutely ideal, near to many area sites and attractions, public transportation, etc. Yes, we have a few rules in place - hair dye, as you mentioned, is one, because it takes a very long time to clean the stains from showers, sinks and tile/grout, not to mention the towels and linens that get ruined - and thus it's not allowed. As for coffee/tea makers in the rooms, we have considered them, as well as refrigerators, but we have deiced not to. It's not worth the investment in additional circuitry, the added cleaning, etc. There are many area properties that offer those amenities, and we do our best to let guests know in advance what we offer, and what we don't. We're finding that our advance communications are working very well, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Thanks again, we hope to see you in the future!
