The Ramada by Wyndham Boston seems to struggle with maintaining a contemporary vibe, as guests often note the dated atmosphere and dimly lit corridors. Shuttle service and staff responsiveness have also been areas of concern, with many travelers reporting negative experiences. While the hotel's location is appreciated for its convenience to the airport and nearby activities, the overall value is questioned by guests who feel the cost does not match the level of service and maintenance, especially with room cleanliness and amenity issues being a recurring theme in feedback.

Arrived here after a long day's drive to a hardy welcome from front desk rep, AMaree. A first-time visitor,I was treated as if I were an old friend. As she checked me in, she pleasantly explained the room rate and security deposit, breakfast hours and WiFi access.
This Ramada's interior design is unlike a lot of other places I've stayed at. Neutral colors are well coordinated throughout the inn without becoming boring. The artwork appears to be of local scenes. The lobby is cozy and inviting with sitting area and fireplace. A computer with printer is available for guest use.
In my room, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in while traveling. Those neutral colors were soothing. A room safe was available. The only addition I would suggest is a microwave to complement the dorm-sized refrigerator and coffee machine.
While the halls are a bit chilly in January (they border an outdoor pool), the rooms themselves have their own heaters managed by the occupants. And unlike other places where I've stayed, the halls were relatively quiet.
Breakfast was ready at 0600 with a variety of appetizing items to select. The breakfast room itself was clean and a couple of wall TVs provided local news.
What made my stay a positive one were the people who work here. Everyone from the shuttle driver and front desk personnel to security, breakfast and housekeeping folk were professional, hospitable and personable. They asked folks if things were ok, if anything was needed. They are true Ramada and Boston ambassadors. I look forward to staying here again.

We stayed for 2 nights and this was prefect for a short stay.
The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed.
The breakfast was good and there was a lot to choose from, including toast, cereal, porridge and waffles. The breakfast room is big and the breakfast time is long running.
The hallways are freezing as they are open to the elements so you don’t actually warm up unless you’re in the main building or in your room.
The windows in the room face the hallways which also have glass so you can get some natural night but people can look in if you open the curtains fully.
Pro: carpark and wifi.
Con: location is not central so be prepared to travel distances for things to do.
Tip: you pay a hotel service fee for each day you stay, ours was $5 a day.
All in all a good stay and was what we needed for 2 nights.

Full disclosure: I haven't stayed here yet, but I am already less than impressed with the customer service. I called the property tonight because I booked a prepaid reservation on Priceline for 10/7/2022, because I am taking a red-eye flight and I want to be able check in when i arrive at approximately 6 am on 10/8/2022. I just asked the front desk agent who answered if she could leave a note in the reservation asking the Night Auditor to check me in the night before, so it does not run as a no-show and get canceled.

She did not bother even looking up the reservation and told me that I would have to call back the night of because it was not "up to her" and it was up to the Night Auditor. All I was asking was for her to leave a note in the reservation; I planned to call again to confirm. She insisted she can't do that. Also, as i mentioned the reservation is prepaid, so it should not be a problem. The worker was incredibly rude and it was quite frustrating. At the end of call, I just said "okay, whatever." And she made sure to "Yeah, whatever" back before hanging up.

As a former hospitality worker of five years (including Night Audit), I know that all property management systems have the capability to leave notes that will appear on the screen at the time of check in; I was not asking for anything impossible. The worker's tone indicated to me that she just did not want to be bothered. This is incredibly disappointing since I booked the reservation through Priceline and I cannot be refunded for it.

But, if this is the treatment before check in, what does it mean for the stay? I'm disappointed already.

For a quick visit to Boston this was the perfect place to stay. It makes no sense to spend a lot of money on a hotel when affordable places like this are available. The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful, and made it a pleasure to be there. The room was everything it needed to be, with comfortable beds. Although we prefer a very cool bedroom with blankets, they follow the modern trend of triple sheeting, which gives you a much cleaner feeling bed, though you need to keep the heat up a touch higher. We had expected a continental breakfast, but they offer a bull buffet, with scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, waffles, and so on. Coffee was plentiful and good. An important point - they had TVs in the breakfast room but with the sound off, making for a much more relaxing meal. Off the lobby they also have a comfortable sitting area with fireplace, and a couple of comfortable chairs.
We drove, so it did not matter to us, but I noticed that there seemed to be a constant flow of shuttles out front, which is important to some.
The property also owns a bowling alley across the way, which includes a restaurant/brewpub. We were going to get a snack there, but it just seemed to much like a snack bar in a bowling alley, so we ended up getting some really good food nearby, where there seem to be a fair number of inexpensive Mexican, oriental, and Irish eateries.
By the way, we also noticed that there is a laundry room in the hotel, which could be quite useful for those on the road for a while.

You read that right, homeless shelter. Although I agree different people need different help and we should give them assistance, but if I'm paying almost $1000 to stay in a hotel I expect it to be clean, be secure and smell nice. None of which were the case. The outside doors do not lock so anyone has access to the hotel. All of the rooms are identical, there are no upgraded rooms and the photos are NOT what it actually look like. The bathrooms had mold growing in them and there is no vent to release the steam from a hot shower. There is no way to get natural light from outside into your room unless you open the window, which doesn't have a curtain so any other guests of the hotel can see right into your room.

I initially booked this hotel because of the visual appeal, the value and the luxuries that were included. The ladies at the front desk were very accommodating by letting us sample a few rooms to choose from however it didn't matter. They're all the same, they all smell and none of the outside doors lock. Don't waste your money and fall victim to this trashy establishment.

Traveler Beware!

Our experience with this hotel was so disappointing. It was just one thing after another. Firstly, the hallways are not air conditioned, so the air in the room needs to be run at all times. No big deal, except the unit is so old and loud it sounds like you have a vacuum cleaner running in your room. The light in the bathroom was on the same switch as the sink vanity light located in the closet area…if you get up in the night you either get to pee in the dark or need to illuminate the entire room. Mini fridge did not work, which we realized in the morning after our food had spoiled. When addressed at the front desk, they agreed to replace it but made sure to let us know it’s more of a cooler than a fridge 🙄 great. Back to the bathroom, the vent was unable to be turned off so that ran all day and night as well and was hanging off the wall the toilet seat was also broken. To top this experience off, the room next to us was having some maintenance done to it…which would be no issue if it wasn’t for the power tools being used at 6am. Overall, this place was a total disappointment and I would highly recommend you take your business elsewhere and enjoy an uninterrupted nights sleep ✌🏻

This hotel should be renamed to MOTEL!! My stay was horrible. The hotel as I over heard when checking out is apparently housing homeless people. And the way I felt there I could believe that was true. They want to charge $10 parking when there's no security to watch your car. The shower rob to turn on the water was super hard to turn. maintenance had to come and oil it and it still was hard to pull the water knob. At check in I was told my room was on the 2nd floor and the elevator was not working. This was a super inconvenience to me as I had a few bags, a toddler and an infant I had to carry up to the second floor. The front desk staff was super rude at check in but the checkout staff member was very nice. I did not feel safe at this hotel at all. I had to check out the next day and was still charged $10 for parking when the check in staff said I wouldn't have to pay. I was given a receipt adjusting the -$10 but my credit card didn't get refused the $10. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even an enemy(if I had one).

Excellent hotel, I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It's a bit out of the way, but was literally the only hotel in the Boston area that we could afford. We didn't expect much, but the place was lovely. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good enough and the staff were superb.

Don't be put off by the bad reviews, people seem to want to pay motel prices and get a five star accommodation. For an affordable family stay, I'd definitely come back here.

If I had to leave a negative point, it would be the copious use of single-use plastics at breakfast. Clearly the hotel is trying to save on washing up, because all plates, cups, cutlery is disposable. Understand why it's being done, but in today's environmentally conscious landscape, seeing all those bags of landfill plastic leaving the restaurant every morning was disappointing. Perhaps the hotel could look to getting cardboard or bamboo products in the future if it doesn't have the ability to wash up.

Hello,

Please see the attached pictures from the room we stayed in for a few hours. We absolutely couldn’t stand staying in it any longer and had to check out!

The carpet was filthy, the room reeked with smoke smells and there was cigarette burn marks on the toilet seat!! The smell triggered my daughter’s asthma attack!!

There was an extremely loud party in the room next door that lasted until 5 am in the morning, the smell of marijuana smoke reached our room and the loud noise kept us up all night. I tried to call the front desk FIVE times but they did not answer the phone! I was trying to get someone from the hotel to knock on these people’s door to ask them to keep it quiet, I didn’t want to go there myself!!!

Definitely the most horrifying hotel stay in our lives, and this review is going everywhere to warn others!

I was at the JFK/UMass T stop and called for the free shuttle to pick me up as I had a fully paid reservation for last night. Mzwabi, at the front desk, was very difficult and first refused to send the shuttle to the subway station although I was only two minutes away. In the second call she was extremely difficult and refused to offer directions to the shuttle bus from the station. I then called back and spoke with Oliver, the manager on duty, who was equally as unhelpful. After 30 minutes the shuttle finally arrived and, after a call to Oliver, Hillary refused to take me to the hotel. I called Priceline who told me I had a non-refundable reservation even after the agent had supposedly called the hotel and had asked for a refund authorization. After a few additional calls I finally reached Oliver who stated that I had been extremely abusive in talking to Hillary and therefore would not be allowed into the hotel or my room. His claim was totally unfounded. P.S. The neighborhood is a dump.

Yes. As soon as you land, call the hotel. They will give you instructions of how to get to the hotel pickup area. Then get your baggage and head outside. It takes about 20-30 minutes because of traffic. Return to airport, you must sign up 24 hours in advance.

The shuttle goes to the JFK subway station and from there you can go anywhere in Boston. The shuttle will also pick you up from the airport and take you back when you leave. That saves quite a bit in cab fare.

breakfast opens at 6, same time as first shuttle (normally). Late checkout is at 12, i'm pretty sure. You call the front dest to book the shuttle, Tough part is getting to the hotel!
