We had a fabulous visit at this hotel! Every staff member we came in contact with was friendly and helpful! They thought of every detail and we were well taken care of. Loved it all! Lemon bars in the afternoon, greeted with lobster stuffed animals for the kids, even Boston themed crib sheets!

What a wonderful stay we had at the Mandarin Oriental last week. We are up in Boston periodically as our daughter lives there and have stayed in various hotels. This has been the best by far for several reasons.

1) Location: Very conveniently located in the city, directly next to the Prudential Center so anything and everything you need is literally right there.
2) Service: from valet, to front desk, to room service... the employees uphold the very high standard of the brand.
3) Cleanliness: This was the most important thing to us. The hotel takes Covid-19 seriously and has implemented extra steps to be sure guests are safe. Mask wearing, social distanced elevator use and hand sanitizer stations for one, but mostly, a big shout out to housekeeping because the room was spotless. We spent most our time and ate most of our meals in the room because of the pandemic. Side note, room service was excellent as well.

We had booked 2 nights but ended up extending our stay for one more evening so we could enjoy one more day with our daughter. We'll be back in Boston within the next few months and look forward to ur next stay at this hotel.

My wife would not hesitate to return to the MO Boston.

This hotel has an unbeatable Boston location, and a very pleasant and professional staff.

The hotel appears to have recently undergone a "soft" renovation, with all furniture apparently quite new, although not in keeping with the original lux build out or design of the hotel.

In mid June, when we visited for 5 nights, the hotel had apparently not fully reopened. For example there was no on site restaurant or bar open, and no mini bar or snacks available in room. The only in room beverage was bottled water at $9 per 750 ml bottle. Additionally the only toiletries in our room were contained in large bottles that hung from the bathroom and shower walls.

Breakfast room service was prompt (except for 1 day--75 minute wait) and beautifully presented, but the eggs (whether "sunny side up", soft boiled, scrambled, or as an omelette) were overcooked and tasteless five mornings in a row. The oatmeal with a bowl of berries and warm milk turned out to be a much safer bet, and the bagels in all events were served still warm and very fresh.

My husband and I checked in a few hours ago to stay in a residential suite for a week. We usually stay at another hotel but they were fully booked so we decided to give MO a try. It's only been a few hours and we were considering cancelling and going to another hotel.

Here are the reasons we wanted to cancel:
1. The cheap chemical perfume smell hit me from the front lobby and carried heavily to the elevator, hallways, and the room. I am allergic to chemical smells and it is still bothering me.

2. The room is just not up to par. They say the rooms are recently remodeled and this does not represent the aesthetics of a five star hotel. Five star hotels usually have thoughtful touches like seated vanity area which the room does not have and the suite is huge but very inefficient. They even have large bottles of products like shampoo, body wash, etc. This is not a gym for all to just use refilled bottles.

3. The hotel does not have basic things. We asked for earplugs as we are on the fifth floor and the street noise is loud. The front desk said they do not have ear plugs. We usually frequent another hotel and they just have ear plugs in the room and it's not something unusual that this is a unique request.

4. We ordered bottles of water and it took 30 minutes for someone to bring them up. They do not have a restaurant and only in-room dining and the options are really not great. We love to dine in when we travel to wind down and this is hugely disappointing.

We called the front office what happens if we just cancel the reservation and check out tonight and without even asking what is going on they referred us to call AMEX and discuss with them. We called AMEX and they said they spoke to the manager who said once we checked in we are on the hook for the whole week. I guess that's fair but for a hotel manager to not even check in with us just shows what kind of hotel this is. I guess we will be here for the week to make the most of it but we will never stay at a Mandarin Oriental again.

Dear AllieMnyc, Please accept my sincere apologies with regard to each aspect of your stay which has been disappointing. We take this feedback, for which we are grateful that you have taken the time to relay, quite seriously and look forward to working on improving in each area. We apologize that our renovation, completed at the end of 2020, is not to your taste and similarly, that our sustainability efforts in moving away from single use toiletries are not to your liking. Earplugs and water delivery should be easily and efficiently sourced and I am very sorry that you experienced inconvenience in this way. I would be happy to speak with American Express on your behalf and also apologize that my colleague did not take this initiative. Please note that any reservations booked through Mandarin Oriental do not have any cancellation terms of minimum length of stay for our guests convenience. If you would be so kind as to email me directly at PhilippK@mohg.com so that we can speak directly, I would welcome the opportunity express my apologies in person and would welcome the opportunity to remedy each aspect of your arrival experience for the duration of your stay. Again, thank you for alerting us to these areas for improvement, I hope to have the opportunity to speak. Best regards, Philipp Knuepfer General Manager

This was our second stay in 30 days. We don't plan on staying anywhere else when in Boston. Michelle, Sydney, the gentlemen at the FD at night & the FD supervisor/manager (their names escape me), were phenomenal in all ways! When I had a terrible stomach ache, Michelle personally delivered ginger ale to our room late night. Sydney worked with us to accommodate our special room requests, even on a busy Memorial Day weekend. The evening FD rep offered us credits when Room Service was backlogged and we weren't able to reach them. (The only drawback during this visit was Room Service. The first morning, I was on hold for over 30 mins before I was able to place an order. The second morning, I gave up after almost an hour of being on hold and just went across the street to Starbucks. For the third morning's breakfast, we pre-ordered with FD. I know the hotel was super busy, as it was a holiday weekend, but the extended wait times just to place an order at a hotel of your caliber & price point, seems unacceptable to me.) The housekeeping staff is wonderful. The little touches of wire keepers, wipes for glasses, etc are just a few ways you make us feel at home here! We're currently obsessed with the end rooms (the 03s as I call them, 703 our first visit & 503 our last one) and the closet space, larger table, & sizable bathroom really allow us the space both of us need to get some work done while feeling comfortable & to also get ready & enjoy our time at MO & Boston. I also need to shout out the Spa team as their positive vibes & helpful gestures really allow me (super Type A & hard to relax) to unwind and remember I deserve to do so! Thank you! Lastly, it's important to give a shout out to the door/bell staff. They were always willing to lend a hand and super friendly. Thank you, MO Boston! We will surely be back!!!! You guys rock!

I recently stayed this week at Mandarin Oriental Boston and had such an amazing experience. They are taking all Covid guidelines seriously
I recently stayed at Mandarin Oriental Boston this week and I truly felt cared for by the lovely staff and this is truly the best luxury hotel in the city.

Katharina is their incredibly kind hotel manager and she welcomed me to the hotel and checked me in to a lovely upgraded room with a beautiful soaking bath, glorious bed with very soft sheets and two things that are very important to me, a quiet room and a nespresso machine. The hotel just completed a beautiful rooms renovation and everything is sleek, cozy and warm. I will say these are definitely hands down the nicest rooms in Boston for sure.

The reception team is brilliant. Very special mention to Erika for being so gracious and kind. She is very lovely and provided true Forbes five star level service. When I had an issue with a canceled Amtrak train back to NYC she graciously allowed me to stay in my room until it later left Boston and this was such a nice gesture. Prior to my stay, Brett and Tanya were incredibly polite and kind and arranged a few things for me. Their level of service was second to none all around. Blake the bellman was super lovely guy and always holding the door open for me. Doormen always provides a warm greeting.

The in room dining team Nathalie, Waleska, And Albert were fantastic. The food was delicious and I highly recommend their Crispy chicken club, and their Back Bay sundae was heavenly.

The hotel was an incredible location and it’s very nice to be connected to both Prudential Center and Copley for coffee, shopping, bookstore, food and more , all without leaving the building in very cold weather. Each time I came back thru their prudential entrance, the security team will buzz you right in and without fail, each time, always said ‘welcome back’ , very nice touch.

Giles from HSKP was so sweet and brought me an MO lens cloth for my glasses.

Their bath products smell heavenly, the bathroom is gorgeous and huge, and they have also left some delicious treats for my belated birthday and will also leave a ‘ we care ‘ kit with Covid friendly items.

The lobby was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays and the flowers and tree were gorgeous. Just walking back into the lobby from the cold is a pleasure. It’s warm, cozy and has a lovely fire as well. And it smells heavenly! The scent they use is amazing.

I think I have found my new home in Boston. They did a wonderful job and even tho the hotel looks different due to Covid and has limited services, it’s still felt like a five star five diamond hotel and they’re doing they’re best to make it feel as normal as possible during these unprecedented times due to the Pandemic.

The staff was just amazing and they are reason enough to return. I look forward to my next stay!

I stayed at the hotel on the 7th with my best friend for her birthday and it was spectacular. From the moment we stepped out of our car the hotel staff treated us wonderfully. It started with (and ended with on the next day) the most courteous of valet men. Our check-in was smooth and efficient and the gentleman at the front desk was extremely kind. The room was immaculate and set to a perfect temperature for the chilly day. Shortly after our arrival we received a knock on the door and it was hotel staff thanking us for our stay and providing us with two delectable chocolate mini cupcakes. It was unexpected but certainly appreciated. We left to explore and grab some lunch/dinner and shop and when we were on our way back we realized the mall connects directly to the hotel which was a great bonus considering it had gotten chillier during our time out. The room itself was also very enjoyable, so much so we didn’t want to leave to explore the City! The bathroom had a stand alone shower and bath which was great and a magnifying mirror, perfect for makeup application. The bed, oh the bed! It was as if I’d jumped into a cloud. The comforter, the bed, the pillows, all allowed a perfect nights rest. I cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience, because it surely was just that: an experience. I im looking forward to my next stay as I can’t wait to stay again.

The Mandarin Oriental Boston since it reopened is a wonderful place to stay for our trips to Boston. We have now stayed twice, once over Thanksgiving and once over Valentines and each time was fantastic. Our main concerns are COVID safety, comfort of the space and welcoming nature. MOBOS has everything! The new rooms are spacious, well equipped and comfortable. We have rented the back bay corner suites each time and wow, it feels like an elegant home. We are not comfortable eating in restaurants so utilized room service and local restaurant delivery, both of which were excellent. Given the popularity of room service with prior concerns about no in restaurant dining, it could take a bit of time. I am hopeful this will improve as things open up. But the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had our dogs with us—a cavalier (who now thinks this is his Boston home) and our new puppy and it was a perfect space. The location is perfect and we never felt the presence of other people which we know were there from the room service demand. Very private and luxurious. We had one electrical issue on our second stay with the lights going out every half hour or so despite moving about the room, but we suspect that was a faulty timer. They offered to fix while we were there but we elected to just deal with jumping up to turn on periodically rather than have a facility person in the room since it was a minor issue. I hope as things continue to open MOBOS will bring in a new restaurant into the Bar Boulud space as an onsite restaurant would be fantastic. We are already planning our return trip in a few months!

MO has been my favorite hotel for decades however I have seen a decline in their service, attitude and up gradation of the hotel itself internationally.

My recent stay at the MO Boston was quite bad for several reasons.

The service is down to zero things we took for granted like housekeeping was negligent. Turn down service not available.

Room service slow and by the time food comes to your room invariably cold.

Laundry service horrible my recommendation is to use an outside service as the clothes look shabbier then when we gave it to them.

I would blame a lot to the prevailing conditions but in my opinion if you are open for business and still charging too dollars the we expect the same kind of service from a institution like the MO.

My next MO stay in the coming days will be in Washington DC and I am quite concerned that it might just be a repeat.

My husband and I do an annual shopping trip to Boston and we needed this weekend more than ever this year. With all the distractions in life because of the Covid pandemic, this weekend turned out to be exactly what we needed. The Mandarin Oriental was the perfect getaway. Our experience was over the top. From the front door to the front desk, the staff was attentive to all our needs. They all wore masks, socially distanced and provided sanitizer stations throughout the property. The hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays and the lobby was a winter wonderland. As soon as we entered we immediately felt at ease and knew this was going to be a faublous weekend.

Our room was beautiful, clean and had an amazing view overlooking Boylston St and the Charles River. But, the purpose of the trip was to shop, and the Mandarin is by far the best location in Boston for shopping. The weather did not cooperate Saturday, but the Mandarin Oriental has indoor access to the Prudential Center Mall and Copley Place. We did not even have to wear a coat to complete or Holiday shopping. What a magnificent experience.

We also took advantage of room service for our Sunday morning breakfast. The staff was pleasurable to talk to and our order was perfect (and we ordered 4 different meals). Room service arrived promptly and it was the start to another great day of shopping. So, if you are looking for the BEST place to stay in Boston, the Mandarin Oriental is a MUST!!!

Dear loliveir, We hope all is well and thank you for reaching out with your question.
