The Revolution Hotel, nestled in a prime location, garners praise for its proximity to attractions and easy access to public transport. Guests admire the hotel's modern, industrial charm and unique decor, but opinions are split on the room sizes and lighting.
While the shared bathrooms are recognized for their cleanliness and the staff for their attentive service, some visitors feel that the value proposition is diminished by the high costs and noise levels. Despite this, the hotel's ambiance and convenient amenities continue to draw travelers.

Technical: You might think that the bathroom down the hall is not for you- but wait! If you have your family with you you can ALL shower/use the bathroom at the same time, with privacy. The bathrooms are large, comfortable, private, and cleaned often. It was something I didn't expect, but much much better than I had hoped! It was so comfortable and efficient. We stayed in four bunk beds, they were solid (no shaking) and comfortable, even for my 6'3" husband! My kids are teenager, so basically we had four adults in four different beds, each with a little curtain and privacy. The lobby was also very comfortable and folks are hanging out in there often. You will feel great there too. We ate at the attached "Cosmica" restaurant- delish!
Design: If you are an arty/design person you are going to LOVE it here. Everything is so intentional! From murals to furnishing to little touches like the signs for the bathroom, it's absolutely delightful to just be in the building.
Location: You are just a few blocks from Boston Common, The Boston Public Library, and many many good restaurants! We loved this location and it was never more than a $13 Lyft ride to get to other locations.
Personal: The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way for us several times. In our room our AC wasn't working well and they did all they could to fix it, and then moved us without a problem. They were friendly and caring and gave great tips for our visit.
Bottom line, all four of us loved it. We can't wait to stay here again.

I liked the ambience and decoration. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable and there were always clean towels and quality toiletries available. The location is also great, with many great restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood and walking distance to the city center. I particularly liked the mexican restaurant Cosmica on the ground floor of the hotel. The shared bathroom experience was much better that I thought and was not a major issue, as bathrooms were kept very clean constantly. I was slightly uncomfortable in my room which was a bit too small, even for European standards. It was great just to sleep and rest, but otherwise you wouldn't feel good to spend time in the room. Overall a great value for money, considering the city's soaring high hotel room prices.

Hello Dimitris, We’re happy to read that you found a ton to love about your stay with us and that you found our value proposition to be on point! In reading your feedback, it sounds like having a larger accommodation would have made your visit perfect. To that end, we’d love it if you’d try our “Revolution Lofts” when you next check in. They’re our most spacious arrangement and we have a feeling you’ll love them. Thank you for all of your kind words and please, join us again just as soon as you can. This hotel was such a fun experience for me and my two teens. As a single mom, it is always a challenge to find an affordable hotel that provides us with a bed for each one of us in the same room and this hotel fit our needs perfectly. The room we chose was the four bed (two bunk) room. The room was modern and had a great vibe. The beds.... the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel and the fact they were bunk beds is CRAZY! These bunks are sturdy (not like a rickety metal bunk bed) and they had curtains so it was like a snug sleeping pod. Our room was right across from the WC (Water Closet) and there were 4 private bath pods in each that had a sink, shower and toilet. The water in the showers was perfect temp and pressure (only issue is that when people did not put a towel down on the floor the water from the shower made the floors pretty wet). The hotel had everything we needed (well almost, lack of extra wash cloths was an issue) from slippers, to robes and all the soaps, shampoos, lotions we needed. There was no coffee maker in the room so that, for me, was a small loss and the only coffee in the hotel was in the lobby and the small coffee shop (and it was way too bitter for my tastes). The location made for a unique experience of Boston for us. I have stayed by the convention center before but had never been to Back Bay and I really liked that experience that I probably would not have had if it wasn't for the location of the hotel. We walked to Boston Common and Fenway from our hotel, as well as the Esplanade - it is a bit of a walk but not impossible, even with two kids in tow who are not used to city walking. Overall, this hotel was a great experience for us and we were so comfortable that I have already encouraged others to stay in a Revolution hotel if they can find one! (Please put one in NYC!!!)

Let's start with the good: The location was great, many nice restaurants within blocks and the key tourist sites including the Freedom Trail and the Boston Library were a short walk away. The hotel was clean. Our bed was comfortable. The staff were very nice.
I'm rating it two stars because of the ridiculously tiny size of the room. We stayed in a "premium" King room that had an ensuite bathroom. The bed took up almost the entire room. Three sides of the bed were inaccessible (Wall, Windows, TV). That means that one person needs to climb over the other to say use the bathroom. Fortunately, we had only carry-on luggage, otherwise we would have had no place to put our bags. There was no night stand, only a narrow ledge behind the bed (which did have a plug) and a windowsill. A small bathroom had a toilet and stall shower which were fine and the bedroom portion, which aside from the bed, had miniscule floor space, and a tiny undersized sink. There was no closet. Clothes could hand on a peg or from a high shelf within the room. Two people could not really dress simultaneously. The only place to sit was the bed.
The room felt like an upscale hostel or perhaps converted college dorms. Certainly, there would have been no place to enjoy a cup of coffee. All of that would have been fine if this was a budget hotel. It was not. It was a $500/night "premium" room, ranking amongst the highest hotel costs that we ever paid.
The hotel had a little coffee bar downstairs, but little seating to enjoy it. Frankly, the hotel provided no comfortable refuge between tourist activities. Supposedly, there was a lounge area downstairs that was unavailable due to renovation. The unavailability of that amenity was not reflected in the price.

Hello ScarletKnight81, Thank you for your feedback! We’re always glad to know when guests love our central location and the easy access it offers to the whole of Boston, among other perks like our memorable hospitality. In reading your review, it’s clear that your room type wasn’t a fit for your tastes and that you would have likely been more comfortable in our larger “Revolution Lofts”. We do our best to describe all of our room types on our website, so please, consider looking over our options ahead of your next visit and know that we’re always eager to answer any questions that may arise. Furthermore, our aim is always to drive value relative to the very popular city of Boston, and we appreciate your comments on how you feel we’re tracking to that end. We’ll continue to flex with demand and hope to be able to provide you with an experience that’s more in line with your tastes when you next check in. Until then, we wish you the very best in your travels. Sincerely, Joe Cornejo Rooms Division Manager

Our party consisted of me, a middle aged mom, with three young adults in tow, to see a concert at Fenway. We had a four bunk room with a shared bath. All of us loved the layout and room decor, and we all agreed that having the shared bath down the hall was better than having our own bathroom.
Each person was provided with a bathrobe, slippers, towel, hand towel, face cloth, and bar of soap in a waterproof cargo bag, for use in the bathroom. The showers had dispensers for shampoo, condition, and body wash. Each bunk had a curtain, a light, and an inset shelf with two usb ports.
The staff was friendly and helpful and everything was clean.
We had everything that we needed in a great location that was not too far from different T stops/stations. While the hotel was ‘posh’ or five star fancy, it was definitely five star fun! Will be back!

We booked this accommodation with some trepidation, as we were hesitant about the prospect of having a shared bathroom down the hall. However, we needn't have worried. The shared space was only storage for linens, and each individual bathroom stall had everything we needed and were always perfectly clean.
The real standout for us was the sleep quality we had. We had a four-bunk room, and the bunkbeds were super comfortable. We slept wonderfully due to the comfort of the mattress, the perfect weight of the blankets, the a/c, and the excellent black-out curtains. We stayed in four different places on our trip, the other three "luxury" accommodations, and we never had better sleep than at the Revolution.
The location was great, very quiet--though our room may have been more quiet than most due to its location facing an alley and away from the elevators.

The hotel is quite well located geographically and at an okay price if you compare it to other hotels nearby. Cool name with "the revolution hotel", but what is so revolutionary you wonder?
The lobby is different and welcoming and the staff when we checked in were friendly. Unfortunately the rooms are very small, they look bigger in the pictures. There is a large bed with a loft bed and a desk and it is very tight between the bed and the wall (where there is also a TV) you also get a bag with towels, bathrobe, soap and slippers.
We already knew that the bathroom is outside the room and it worked well. I thought it was quite well-kept and clean and it was easy to be there.
Outside the room there was also a station with drinking water.

I was pleasantly surprised by how truly wonderful the revolution hotel was during a recent business trip. I was initially a little dubious about booking a room that had "shared bathrooms" as visually I was anticipating a hostel-type situation, Honestly, it didn't feel anything like that. For reference, I booked the king size room with shared bathroom down the hall. The configuration is such that you have what is essentially a standard hotel room and a variety of individual bathroom suites including a shower, sink with vanity, toilet behind opaque glass, All consolidated within one area (akin to a gym). It was plenty of privacy in the bathrooms were kept impeccable nonstop all throughout the day and night. The potential downside would be having to get up and walk down the hall should you need to use the restroom, but this was inconsequential to me. The bed and pillows were probably some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on, And we were provided full length jersey robes, which were helpful when using the shared bathroom so that you didn't have to change in order to walk back to your room. The location was central to many cute places to walk, eat and sightsee, I appreciated the variety of amenities like they speakeasy inspired SpyBar, 24 hour gym, and fun mexican restaurant. Would highly recommend, for personal travel, business, or family.

While the location, amenities, and staff were all great we found our room to smell like the bathroom which was unpleasant and we could hear every door closing, footstep, and conversation in the hallways.
In the morning the cleaning team could also be heard in the rooms next door talking loudly.
We were not able to get a good nights rest. Seemed too good to be true and sadly, that’s what it was.

We stayed for three nights in this hotel. Honestly we were a bit puzzled by the absence of the bathroom in the room, but trusting the reviews of other Italians we decided. The rooms are really small but with extremely comfortable beds, the bathrooms on the floor really clean. The staff provided cleaning practically immediately after use also in the room we found the necessary linen and a bathrobe / dressing gown in a suitable bag for transport. The bathrooms have proved sufficient for people accommodated on the floor and equipped with the necessary products. The hotel is conveniently located, 5 minutes from the metro.
