Overall, my experience here was marred by a poor encounter with one of the housekeeping staff. It was quite literally the only rude / nasty person I have encountered in Asheville and I hope the management there truly addressed my issues. The stay started pretty straightforward with me and my family. A quick holiday getaway in one of our favorite cities. The hotel itself is a bit old and could use some updates but was okay for the most part. On the positive side many of the staff we encountered were friendly and the hotel had good COVID protocols in place. So what went wrong? Well I was in the process of getting our room cleared out and the vehicle loaded. We have two toddlers so getting all their various toys and baby necessities required a few trips even with a luggage cart. I decided it would be easier for my family to get breakfast from a nearby restaurant and I would get our things from the room and tidy up. Checkout wasn’t until 11:00 and it was a little after 10:00 so I had time. Or so I thought. I returned to my room to finish up and found the housekeeper in there flipping channels on the television. I was a bit surprised but didn’t overreact. Simple mistake. I informed her that we weren’t done in the room and I still needed to get all of our things. I expected to her to realize her mistake and simply leave. She did not and it turned into one of the most bizarre encounters I’ve ever had in a hotel. I won’t ramble too much, but she became rude and confrontational. Most importantly, she wouldn’t leave. In hindsight I can’t help but wonder if they were trying to clear us out to give the room to the next person. Regardless, her behavior was too much. I submitted a detailed formal complaint and got some generic emails. I truly hope the situation was addressed but don’t have high hopes about that. So overall, given the age of the hotel, that encounter and the lackluster response from Marriott, I can’t really recommend this one. There are just too many nice places in Asheville to stay in the same price range with better rooms and zero rude staff members.

This is your typical brand-name hotel chain extended stay type place. Suites with small but fully equipped kitchens. Typical hotel breakfast in the lobby is included. Good central location. Sufficient parking. Friendly staff. It allows pets which is a positive if you have a pet and perhaps a slight negative if you do not. It’s certainly not fancy or luxurious but it’s clean and definitely serves its purpose.

Came up to Asheville at the last moment for one night for my son's birthday, called Andrew at the front desk and he gave us a very very gracious upgrade, room was very clean and spacious and the fireplace was definitely a plus. Thanks Andrew!! Melissa did a wonderful job checking us in(ask her about Bear story) and gave us suggestions on where to go for dinner, she was very helpful. The hotel was great ,close to downtown Asheville, indoor pool ,great beds, lots of room.PePe did an excellent job with the morning breakfast buffet! We felt very safe and that the hotel was very clean and sanitized, Great job definitely will be back again!!

The great Residence Inn service and amenities you expect! I was thrilled that our two bedroom, two bath suite for our "girls getaway" to the Biltmore was such a great stay! Even during all the Covid restrictions, they went out of their way to make it a great experience. We were able to reserve a time for just our little group to use the pool and jacuzzi without fear of too many people using it at the same time. The breakfast buffet as always had something for everyone. My friends who had never stayed at an RI really enjoyed their stay. Thank you to everyone at RI who made this a great experience!
