My first time staying at this property, though I have stayed at countless similar properties in the past. Travel partner this week had stayed here before as part of paid transaction/encounters prior to Covid. Free parking, which was nice. Located near highway in busy area, next door to Hilton HQ. Fairly easy commute to Dulles, and in fact, saw airline crews there. Had requested a high floor a few weeks in advance and as well as 2 days prior to stay, but despite longtime Hilton Lifetime Diamond status, didn't get a high floor room. (Suggeston: put dogs on the ground floor or level 1 or 2; keep them out of elevators with other guests who may not want to be near them or have dog hair on their dress clothes)Breakfast staff were pleasant and friendly, and the breakfast offerings were very good. Plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans, everyone. Kudos for having almond milk. Ate breakfast there each morning. Exercise room open 24 hours, which was good, though it was very crowded at 6am, and had to wait to use equiment. One treadmill was out of order all week. Did not spend much time at the property during the day. Housekeeping varied a lot from day to day in timing as well as how room was serviced. One day we left property at 745 am and returned after 3pm, and room had not yet been made up (and no, there was no DND sign on the knob) This was inconvenient. All in all, stay was fine, pretty much as expected. Would recomend if this is the area you need to be in.

This hotel really knows what a name brand Hilton should provide. The service staff is across the board excellent. I have attended many conferences here. In 2022, when all other hotels were skimping on cleaning services (using the pandemic as an excuse to cut costs), the cleaning staff at this hotel not only cleaned the room perfectly, but they folded my pants that I'd strewn on the floor, setting them neatly on my bed. At a conference today (in fact, just now), while I was sitting at a table away from the conference, working on my computer, a staff member pulled out an extension cord and ran a power strip to my table so I could plug in my computer. Both of these little gestures were not requested: the staff just noticed a need and went above and beyond. This is a rare level of attention to detail, and it speaks to a hotel that is well managed, with a good employee culture. (Also, great EV charging! :D)

This is my third time at this property. I was fortunate to have received an upgrade, however certain parts of this hotel could use an upgrade. The hallways are dark and dingy, and the curtains, carpet in the room could used to be replaced. The bathroom smelled moldy. My third night at the hotel I got back after a very long day to see my room was not serviced that day. This was very disappointing after a long day. Room service was extremely overpriced, especially since it was delivered in take out containers and a paper bag. I expect more from Hilton.

My now husband and I got married in November 2024 at a venue near the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner and selected it as the wedding block for our many out-of-town guests. The hotel ended up working out for us because of the reasons we selected it- reasonable rates for our guests, great common space/bar, and one of the only hotels in the area with nice options for getting-ready suites.
Since this Hilton is literally next door to the Hilton headquarters, we expected the customer service and hospitality to be a benefit as well. Unfortunately, the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner ended up being the most difficult part of our wedding planning. We had been communicating with the hotel event staff for 7 months and brought in over 110 hotel nights (30 over our original block agreement); yet, we were met with resistance at every turn.
2 months prior to our stay, we sent our event contact a request for early check-in for the 10 rooms who needed to get ready for our rehearsal dinner (we're talking 1-2pm). At first they wanted to charge us for the request... after that was resolved, the information was either not communicated or just ignored by the hotel when we arrived. We had to scramble and get ready for our rehearsal dinner in one of the few guest's rooms that they had managed to get ready by 3PM.
It's a fine hotel if you need a place to stay in Tyson's. But don't expect anything more than that (and would recommend you look elsewhere if you're planning an event).

Ok---so I am a Hilton Diamond member and this criticism applies to virtually every single Hilton on the East Coast. I live in Denver and regularly fly to the East Coast, arriving around 11pm (AND HUNGRY). No Hilton restaurants stay open past 10pm, so invariably I am left eating out of the horrible cupbard of crackers and cookies next to check-in desk (a fate I would not inflict on my worst enemy). It's a HILTON, and they haven't figured out how to make food available late for West Coast travelers. I can think of perhaps a dozen good solutions to this problem that won't cost Hilton a fortune, but since Hilton's HQ is in Virginia (just down the road) none of the execs or staff have experienced this problem (as they just go home after arriving on the East Coast) so they ignore it. Ping me and I'll be happy to offer suggestions. OR just ask ANY AI program and they will give you some great suggestions (hints: partner with local restaurants/allow preorders to be waiting/up your game on room service and keep it open past the latest flights/etc etc). I continue to be amazed after decades of travel with Hilton that they utterly and completely ignore this issue.

Dear Mark, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We understand how frustrating it must be to arrive late after a long flight and not have convenient dining options available. We regret that this has been a recurring issue during your stay and appreciate your perspective. Your suggestions are thoughtful, and we recognize the importance of providing more late-night food options. While we may not have the immediate ability to implement changes, feedback like yours is invaluable in identifying areas for improvement. We hope for the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future. Stacie Bladen, Director of Rooms

I took my 80-year old mother for an overnight stay to celebrate Mother’s Day—we both found our stay disapppojbting. Our electronic door lock didn’t work, and the door and furniture in the room were worn and were peeling. A group of 13 unsupervised teenagers took over the entire pool, shouting and blasting their music. When I complained, the front desk person reported it to someone from security. Instead of removing the teens from the pool until their chaperone appeared (which never happened), the security worker said he’d look for the chaperone. More than half an hour later, nothing had changed, so we left. As a 20+ year Hilton Hhonors member and as a Diamond member who has stated at Hilton properties around the world, this is one was if the biggest disappointments. The only positive was the excellent service we received at the bar’s dining area from Shwalem.

Pros: (1) Their restaurant Harth serves a delicious breakfast and has great style and atmosphere. The hostess that worked Thanksgiving Weekend (I didn't catch her name) was so lovely and warm with our two little girls. (2) Hotel is in close proximity to the mall, so there are plenty of nearby "trusty" dining options. (3) Front desk agent Jesse was warm and made us feel welcome and accommodated. (4) The lobby is aesthetically pleasing. We are Diamond members and have been to dozens of Hilton properties across their brand spectrum. We pulled up to the front before check-in and there was not a soul there to assist with luggage. In fact, the front desk was hard to find! You had to walk the length of the lobby (which is large) to find the desk and so there is no chance anyone at reception would notice anyone pulling in with luggage. We wound up helping ourselves to a bellman's cart without anyone noticing or asking if we needed assistance. This is an older property which is set up with the lobby/atrium in the center and rooms along the perimeter for several floors up. It has the same look internal architecture look as an Embassy Suites, if you're familiar. Noise carries upward and the walls are thin so with the noise and the look, it felt like we were in a dorm or a motel. The rooms themselves are adequately sized but need a refresh. No USB ports next to the bed, so clearly the room has not been modernized in many years. Considering Hilton's CleanStay program touting Lysol as its partner, we were very surprised and frankly grossed out to find visible dust on the furniture surfaces, stains and long hair in the mini fridge, stained upholstery and countertops and TV remote controls that were not sanitized and wrapped in plastic as is typical at every other Hilton property we have stayed at since the pandemic. Toilet randomly ran on and off extremely loudly. The internet refers to this as a four star hotel, but as nice as the lobby is, it is not four star nor is it priced like the three star hotel it is, so beware.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is nice to read that you had a nice dining experience in harth and you recognizing the server is appreciated. Many guests, like you, do enjoy that there are many dining and shopping areas so close by. Jesse works hard to offer this impression to all of our guests and I know he will be proud to read your comment about him. You being a Diamond member is very much appreciated. My apology that our bellman was not available when you arrived. He may have been assisting another guest and I am sorry for the frustration of no one assisting with your luggage. I have not heard anyone reference our hotel as being like a dorm or motel, but am sorry you felt that way. Clearly we let you down with the room product and cleanliness. It is appreciated that you corresponded with a member of our Front Office leadership about your disappointment so we could personally apologize and try to make it right for you. Thank you again for your review and for being a Diamond member. We hope you return so we can have a chance to restore your faith in us. As always, I invite anyone reading my responses to contact me anytime. Happy travels - Kevin B. Feldman 703-761-5152 kevin.feldman@hilton.com

There seems to be nothing but issues. I am in room 405 staying from 8/9 to 8/13 in the five feet to fitness room but it has been a nightmare. I have complained about the cleanliness of the room and asked for daily cleaning but they do not clean the equipment or the drawers that I specifically told them about. They only set the bed and add new towels, they don’t removed the used towels or clean any of the surfaces or any of the equipment. Not only that but the lights are flickering. Also, when I asked the front desk for body wash, which is usually included in all my Hilton stays, they mentioned it’s in the room and built into the shower which it clearly isn’t. It doesn’t seem right to be paying for an upgraded room with less benefits and improper cleaning. It seems like the staff does not care about the Hilton Brand and standards. Cleanliness is an issue at this locations as I had 2 Stays separate in room 786 in July and recycle that I had left in the room during my first stay was still in the room when I returned for my second stay a week later . The staff was very unresponsive regarding the situation. It is sad to say but in an area like McLean Hilton is not the place to stay as it operates a cheap motel than a Hilton

AC didn’t work properly. It was 75 degrees in the room when we arrived and we could not get it to cool down any further. They said they’d send an engineer up but they didn’t arrive. There was no soap in the room so we had to wash our hands with the body wash from the shower. Despite two requests, they never brought up any soap. I paid extra for a “relaxation room” with a fancy massage chair but NONE of the functions on the chair worked. Don’t stay here! What a ripoff.

i recently traveled for a wedding - I need an accessible room. 1. Because my nephew DID NOT block off an accessible room when he was arranging for the wedding - I paid a different rate. 2. I had an accessible room - but there was NO MIRROR I could use. There was a full length mirror but there was NO outlet located near it so I would be able to style my hair. I would think a hotel chain as popular as Hilton would have worked out the kinks by now.
