I have travelled to San Francisco for business on many occasions, but this was the first time at this particular hotel. I was excited to stay here just to see the difference from some of my more usual choices, like the Marriott nearby. After staying, I won't be putting this option very high on my list of hotels in that area. It's attempt to be hip and edgy has just led to an impractical layout in the rooms. The lobby is so dark you can't read any of the paperwork. I'll give the aloof, annoyed and understaffed check-in desks a pass since that seems to be the new pandemic era norm, but they didn't even explain the basics, like how housekeeping does (or doesn't) work for your stay. Fortunately I wasn't there long enough to need a refill on coffee. The beds and shower were fine, so I would stay again if better options were not available.

This is a gorgeous hotel and we got a reasonable rate for the room. Parking was another story. We loved the location near Union Square. We loved our room except for the fact that it was facing a huge building. We were looking at the building facade. Not cool. But the room was spacious, very modern, comfortable beds, a huge flat screen TV, decent size bathroom with a great shower, everything nice and clean and all the creature comforts. All the staff we encountered were pleasant. Nice lobby with and beautiful decor in the elevators. All the common areas smelled nice and fresh. I don’t think there is a functional restaurant in the hotel or room service but it didn’t matter for us as we were happy to eat out and they promptly brought up a tea kettle for us on request so we could have our cuppa in the mornings - were Brits😉. Parking was 60.00 a night plus tax. Come on! Ridiculous. And I know, it’s San Francisco but still. Had to take off a point for that. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and will be back.

I hate even giving a rating for this place. The best way I can describe this place is POLISHED TURD. No joke. This place is tacky, from the ridiculous spaceship room aesthetic to the insane amount of charges. Let’s talk charges. $80 bucks A DAY to park. EIGHTY! Let’s not forget that even though you are paying an arm and a leg to park, you still are expected to load and unload your own vehicles. The walls in the room are paper thin, we were up until 4 am as our neighbors held a rager (even after security was called). When we showed up to this hotel after a long day, we were looking forward to grabbing a bite to eat and a drink at the hotel bar. Nope. Bar is only open from 5-10pm. Oh and zero room service, but they suggest you order pizza and have it delivered. Like, I get it- we are in a pandemic, but the amount you’re paying to stay here vs the amenities you receive is bogus. Save yourself money and a headache and stay at a smaller boutique hotel in SF.

Perfectly located near all the restaurants. I wound take an Uber to the Wharf area. We arrived on a Sunday and because it’s in the financial district, all the restaurants were closed. The front desk was super informative and gave us a list of options to Uber to or order Uber eats. Biggest disappointment: all the restaurants and bars on site were closed. Even though all of California is open and mask mandates are lifted. I believe they are having staffing issues. We really would have loved to enjoy their bar/lounge-which had great reviews. The room was clean, quiet and perfect for a 1 night stay to grab a flight the next day. Very minimal lifting. The water in the shower was NOT very hot. It was lukewarm. But the water pressure was good. Overall, I would recommend it. Take note: Vallet takes some time due to staffing. Add extra time into your schedule since everyone is getting their car at the same time.

They have too few staff to run such a big operation at this time. Most ofyen - there is 1 person at front desk. No concierge. No food. One soap. Really skimped on everything. Room is beautiful - great view. One day it will be good again. Just not yet. Also everything shuts down early in the area to get anything.
