Easy check-in, no waiting. Self Parking around 50$ per night, with in and out. Great location, close to the water, Fisherman’s Wharf, there are grocery stores across the street and the best breakfast place Brazilian Cafe de Casa 3 blocks away. The breakfast at the hotel was not that good, only two options of hot and cold boxes, hot with eggs and ham, and the cold one a banana, a muffin and a bottled juice (if you buy these at the store it would be 3-4$ in balue), typical American breakfast, so that was disappointing, but they has Starbucks coffee, which was good. The hotel is clean, overall feels nice to be there. Housekeeping on point. The pool was warm, but the weather was not hot enough to dedicate a day for the pool. I would recommend this hotel for sure.

My family and I stayed for 4 nights here. Great location - only 1.5 blocks from Pier 39 and a short 10 minute walk to Ghirardelli Square where you have a few of the bay and the bridge. Too many people complaining about the parking prices...this is San Francisco and parking is outrageous everywhere. $55/night in a secure garage with in and out privileges is relatively cheap in this city. You can also park across the street (literally across the street) in a garage for $36/night and it's safe. Breakfast is a nice feature for grab and go or dining if you have your COVID vaccine card with you. Bar area looked nice and busy. As for specifics: suite is nice and large, very clean, comfortable beds. Hotel is very clean and seems to follow all COVID protocols. Nice gym as well. Added safety feature with on site security after dark through morning. Only downfall for us was we had a room where the drain took a while to clear out. No concerns with the credit card holds as others have mentioned - standard procedure at all hotels.

Great hotel close to Pier 39. Parking is too expensive but the hotel is wonderful. I will stay here again but will use the city parking lot. Breakfast was prepared with choice of hot or cold. If you choose to eat in the dining area you must show covid vaccine proof with your ID.

We stayed 2 nights. Our room was in the 1600’s and faced out into a courtyard. The courtyard is narrow and on about the same level as our 1st floor room. When you open a window or raise your shades, you might find yourself uncomfortably close to some strangers using the courtyard. Completely destroyed the pleasure of having a courtyard facing room. Maybe higher floor would be better. No doorman on duty when we arrived at around 3:30. Check-in was long and tedious. I had booked two rooms for my family and the clerk seemed totally confused by that. When I asked if keys of both rooms could be set up to access the parking garage, she became frustrated and sought help from another employee. Rather than keep your credit card on file for incidentals, Riu adds a $150 hold per room to your card. I’m not really comfortable with that procedure, but had no choice. Still waiting to see if the whole $150 is removed from card. When I asked the desk clerk to break a $20 bill so I could tip the housekeeping staff, the clerk looked at the bill in my hand and said without looking up at me, “No. We don’t keep small bills here.” So housekeeping, the desk really has your back. No tip left. The rooms were small and clean and the courtyards and outdoor seating are comfortable. Good location. Parking was $110 for two nights with free in and out. Outrageous parking price, but they know they have you. Parking in that area is at a premium. I will never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone. It takes more than a good housekeeping staff and clean room to demand the rates they charge.

Very friendly accommodating staff and great location. Only 1 block from Fisherman's Wharf, and a 10 minute walk to Pier 39. I would highly recommend this hotel. As a vacation hotel, you can't get too much closer to shopping and seeing the sights on the Wharf. If you are not opposed to walking, you can get just about any where on the Embarcadero.
