The rooms at Staypineapple are smaller than many hotels (not really all that uncommon in big cities) but they were clean, stylish, and well-maintained. Our bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and we had plenty of room in the drawers/closet for our things. The staff at the hotel was friendly and super helpful, and there is a parking garage just around the corner. We loved being close to everything we wanted to do, and would definitely stay here again.
Gabrielle was AMAZING!!! This is our first time planning a visit to the city and she helped me reserve a room on short notice after some inconvenient issues occurred. I plan on staying at this place anytime we visit San Francisco! Gabrielle, I hope you know you are the best part of #STAYPINEAPPLE
Long weekend at Stay Pineapple. The hotel is clean and stylish. Rooms are on the smaller side as with many city hotels. Beds are comfy and the rooms well provisioned with lots of charging options, robes, big TVs. Negatives: neighborhood is pretty dicey (and we're from NYC!). Gotta be careful which way you walk when leaving. Fair number of homeless who have taken over the sidewalks and are sometimes aggressive. No food service in the hotel- lobby bar not operational. Hotel isn't really close to Union Square. The $29 per night non-negotiable surcharge over and above the room rate was an unpleasant surprise and the $10 credit for overpriced candy and soda didn't offset.
We had booked this reservation over a month ago before Arrival through booking.com. Upon our arrival the front desk assigned us a room. We had paid for and reserved a room through Booking.com as a deluxe king room. Upon entering our room we saw that it was not a king bed and extremely tight size room. We had read reviews before booking and realized the hotel had small rooms and that was part of the reason why We had booked a king size bed/room. We had just come off a two week RV rental of touring a bit of California, Oregon and national parks and were looking forward to a comfortable last night of our vacation in San Francisco before flying home the next morning. Upon our calling the front desk to say this is not the room We reserved We we’re were informed that booking.com had booked that room and it was their fault that We didn’t have a king bed and room and that We should call them. We asked the front desk to help and call booking.com and they refused. also as We had checked in they let us know that We had used a third-party vendor in reserving the room and The front desk clerk made us feel like We had made an inferior reservation. Needless to say we were exhausted from our trip, needed to eat. and did not call booking.com until we came back from dinner later that night. Booking.com advised us that all the confirmations from this hotel confirmed that we had a deluxe king size room which agreed with our email proof, and that the hotel was in error and that they would call the front desk to discuss. We waited a half hour on the line when booking.com came back and advised the hotel was claiming they had a system error and they would provide us with a $50 credit. From the moment we told the front desk clerk that they had made an error she kept saying call booking.com and they’ll give you a credit. We didn’t want a credit We wanted a comfortable room and a comfortable bed As we had reserved long ago. We were told that all king size beds and rooms for sold out as of that morning. The front desk handled this horribly. For saying the booking.com has made the error, making us feel like I was inferior guests by booking through booking.com, and then after booking.com called them and they had to admit to Hotel error they only offered a $50 credit on a $250 room charge. The hotel should’ve given us a room for free or close to free for their error or try to find us another hotel room in another hotel with a king size bed as we were requesting. We have never experienced such treatment or ridiculousness in how the situation was handled.Needless to say, we would not recommend Staypineapple in San Francisco for any plans you have in the future. Management needs to get their act together. We were so disgusted on our treatment.…
First time in staying here at StayPineapple and I am very impressed with everything… interior is topnotch! Bed was done so well and looking & smelling so clean, linens are not your ordinary common linens you see in the popular hotel brands, very soft to touch. And the bathroom is so spacious, all furnishings are updated and well maintained. Also… Loved all the personalized branded items in the room and not to forget the excellent guest services— the Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back here again.
