While I loved the staff and hotel in general, I had booked the Drama Queen, corner room online. Upon checking in, I was told I was being “upgraded” to a king when in reality, it was sort of a downgrade because the king rooms are just a standard room. It was nice that it was at the end of the hall and semi private, but it was a little annoying because I had booked the best room they had offered. I don’t know if there was a website error or what but my reservation had said “drama Queen” room. I had also added on the celebration champagne and chocolates as well but was told they’re going to be at our room as a “surprise” to us. Except I had already added it when booking. All said and done, while the room is very small it was very pretty and the bed is extremely comfortable. I almost feel like my Queen room was actually oversold and they had tried to hide it as “upgrades.” Regardless, I was only charged for the standard king room and the wine and chocolates were free. I was also given a second stuffed dog after purchasing the first (they’re very cute). Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel. They don’t have a lot of amenities and because of covid, we had to pay $33 for parking elsewhere (which wasn’t ideal). You’re charged a $50-60 for fee and taxes for the hotel, which include wifi and a few snacks but the bar is closed and they don’t have room service. I’m interested in seeing how this hotel does after covid and what amenities come back. The room was very clean and noise was limited to mostly outside but that could just be due to the hotel being fairly empty that night. It’s an old building and the location is good for uber/cab drives but the immediate vicinity is sketchy.

Overall an enjoyable experience, with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was quite nice, the bed excellent. The bathroom though compact was also very nice. Decent shower with good pressure.
Three specific downsides spring to mind: Terrible noise insulation, you can hear everything. Particularly the water pipes which were very loud any time a neighbouring room used their taps or shower The quality of the breakfast was very poor, it is reasonably cheap but its not worth it, go somewhere off site. The Breakfast Burrito for example is clearly just out of a packet and heated, was not nice at all. The $25 a night additional amenity fee just feels dishonest and should be included in the room price so you can see the true headline cost when booking. To have a separate fee tacked on after is poor form. Despite the claim of what it covers I don't feel it's justified, particularly as the "high Speed Internet" is a mediocre 30mps

Everyone we met, housekeeping, front desk, were all amazing. Very helpful and happy to offer advice on local attractions.
Although the rooms are quite small, they are to a high standard, have a luxury feel and include coffee making facilities, fridge, safety deposit box and plenty of charging sockets. Extremely comfortable beds!
Only downside was noise from adjoining rooms, typical hotel problem, but we were allocated another room on request without any issue.
Good location within couple of minutes walk of Union Square.
Really worth a visit, as with many Center hotels, you have to be aware of your surroundings but it felt safe and secure.

Although the amenity fee was listed on my reservation, I did not notice it until checkin. The staff person explained that the fee is intended to cover wifi, coffee and tea in the room, bottled water, etc. These are all provided free by most 4-star hotels. Not least because it has no restaurant, this hotel doesn’t qualify for a 4-star rating. In addition, the area around the hotel is rundown and doesn’t have any decent cafés or restaurants. Not recommended.

When we arrived to the hotel we checked in early and as we get to our room we realized our room didn’t have a “sanitized and ready to use” sticker on the door handle. Pillows had mascara stains & there was human hair and animal hair imbedded inside each pair of blankets we asked for. Asked the front desk people a total of three separate times to bring us a new blanket and pillow. Second time they gave us the sets of pillows there was either red blood stains on the pillow or hot sauce.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The bed is AMAZING and comfortable! Can see why they encourage people to sleep naked! The room was very well put together, along with all things pineapple you can buy too... from the USB chargers to mugs! The reception and bar area are very nice and really modern. All staff we spoke with were polite and helpful and good at their jobs. The only negatives I would advise are the homeless people in the area but that can’t be helped by the hotel it’s just off putting especially when walking at night and with luggage. The amenity fee seemed steep but that was included in the Hotel rate through Booking.com, just be warned though it is an extra to pay. The pineapple cookies were delicious though... perhaps we had a few more than we should have! I would recommend Staypineapple to friends and family.

Hands down the best place I've stayed at in San Francisco and a new favorite. My husband and I travel with our Bischon Frise often and always seek out hotels that are accommodating for pets. This place just exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond! The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful! Lobby is stunning and elegant. Staff was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. Check in was a breeze! We were in our beautiful, clean, cozy room within minutes. They allow you to leave your car out front while you get situated then you can park right across the street at a convenient over night parking garage. All very painless, especially for San Francisco where parking is usually a whole ordeal. We stayed in the Celebrity King room and have zero complaints. I especially loved the big mirrors and nice lighting in the bathroom for freshening up. Shower was great too! Linens were luxuriously plush and soft. We slept like babies and hardly noticed the street noise below. Black out curtains worked great. The products were superb (I actually want to buy that Tommy Bahama lotion for my home because it was so thick and hydrating and gave my legs a gorgeous shine). My pup felt super welcome and enjoyed his stay as well...he especially loved is departure gift (milk bones in a super cute tin). My husband and I appreciated the $10 credit for snacks and bevys which were very affordably priced at their snack shop in the lobby. On top of that, the hotel provides bottled water, coffee, tea and charging portals in the room. The ONLY thing I would love to see is the addition of a bottle refill station to reduce plastic water bottle waste. We will definitely be staying here or any of their other locations again soon. xoxo

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The manager, Joel, & staff exuded world class hospitality & both the lobby and room made me feel like I stepped into a 1920s yet modern luxury hotel. Location wise, an easy 5 min walk down the same street to Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Neiman and Marcus etc.
**FAVORITE features—- european comforters (omg), my favorite bath robes of any hotel, stunning high ceilings and decor in the rooms, beautiful (brilliantly clean) bathrooms. **FYI- other websites state it is a $35/person amenities charge but in fact it is only per room , and well worth it, (unlimited bottles of water/infused pineapple water/ fresh hot coffee and tea 24hrs/ bikes to ride around town) ** PET friendly at an affordable rate ** PARKING - right around the corner, 3min walk, $35
10/10 best experience in San Francisco. Will be staying here again.

Hotel was great!! Clean, friendly staff and one of the most comfortable beds!! The only misinformation that was given was that there was "free WIFI" but once we checked into the hotel, we were told we had to pay a $25.00 hotel fee/night that included the wifi. The fee also included a bike and other amenities, but it should be noted clearly on line. Other then that, I would definitely return!

It can be a little sketchy. There is a lot of homelessness in the area. I wouldn’t walk around at night without a couple people, but we didn’t have any issues and enjoyed the bars across the street.
There are more places to choose from in the San Francisco area.
