Parc 55 San Francisco - a Hilton Hotel garners praise for its cleanliness and central location, which guests find convenient for exploring San Francisco's attractions. While the hotel's amenities, like the gym and comfortable beds, are popular among many travelers, some suggest there is room for improvement and note the high costs associated with additional services.
The rooms receive mixed feedback; some guests are delighted by the views and cleanliness, yet others point out outdated interiors and unpleasant odors. The staff's service quality also varies, with some guests encountering issues, although others report positive interactions.

I booked a 1 night stay 4 months in advance. About 2 weeks before the stay, I saw that I could get a AAA package (through Hilton.com) which was cheaper and included free breakfast, so I called and my reservation was updated (and reflected online). When I checked in, the free breakfast had disappeared and it only showed a AAA rate. Many thanks to Ryan M, who checked us in. He acknowledged my Diamond status, fixed the missing breakfast, gave us the premium wifi code, and got us into an open room as the one we reserved hadn’t been cleaned yet (we arrived around noon, so before the 3pm standard checkin time). The room was very comfortable. My only complaints are that when I dialed the operator from the room phone, no one answered (I gave up after around 30 rings). Also, there is no phone for their restaurant (Cable55), so I had to go to the restaurant (actually the bar) to place a takeout order. I’ll note that there were many security features. For the elevators, you had to scan your key at a pad outside the elevators, enter your floor number, and it would then direct you to an ekevator that would go to that floor. Also, in the late evening, to enter the hotel you needed to scan your key and a person was there to ensure it was a valid key. All of these security measures help offset the hotel location near the tenderloin.

Location: We were aware that the hotel was on the fringes of the homeless, but we wanted to have easy access from the airport and also be close to San Francisco's major attractions. With BART you can easily get from the airport to Powell Street and from there it is only a few meters to the hotel. Also easily done with a lot of heavy luggage. For sightseeing, there is a Cable Car terminus just around the corner, although it can be difficult to get along without waiting. Otherwise there is a road further east (Stockton) the possibility to take a bus north.
To the hotel: In the entrance area (Bell Desk), one floor below the lobby, it has security staff, which gives you a certain security. We had booked two connecting rooms for our three nights, After check-in we went to the 17th floor. Stock. There are eight lifts and the floors are only accessible with room cards. The rooms were not very modern anymore, could use a renovation urgently. Both rooms also cooled down sharply overnight, without air conditioning of course. I think the hotel is not particularly well insulated. Highlights are the beds, the sleep quality was really good, maybe the jet lag helped a little. Since we knew that breakfast at the hotel would be quite expensive, we completely abandoned it. Just across the street from the Ellis Street hotel is Mellis Cafe. Although it is not really a cafe, there is only one outdoor area and you rarely find room to sit. However, the offer is very good and compared to the hotel you don't pay $100 for breakfast for three people.
Conclusion: Good location if you are travelling by public transport between airport and the main attractions of SF. If you have a car, then you better think twice, parking is also really expensive. Hotel needs a renovation. Also especially the hotel pool, which is located in the sister hotel on Union Square.

My family and I stayed at the Parc 55 during our roadtrip through California. We found the location of the hotel to be ideal -- right near the subway station, the Powell street cable car stop, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel itself was comfortable and clean, and the service was outstanding. I especially appreciated the helpful concierge and how the hotel responded to text messages for requests (like requests for extra towels). The room was as quiet as can be expected in a city, and the valet parking was extremely efficient and convenient (well worth the cost). The only issues we had with the hotel were: 1) being told that the room would automatically be cleaned, but we later found out that we had to request room cleaning; and 2) the delivery of an extra blanket for our sofa bed, which took a bit longer than expected (but which was appropriately handled by the front desk).
I had one other issue, but cannot blame the hotel for it. Rather, I believe the Hilton Honors app may be to blame, as I have had the issue at another Hilton hotel. Nevertheless, I will mention it here for the wary traveler. The app allowed me to choose my room and check-in via the app, which I did. However, at the hotel, I was given a different (less favorable) room. When I pointed out that this wasn't the room I selected via the app, the hotel was apologetic and upgraded me to suitable room. But, again, this has happened at another Hilton hotel to me, so I think this is a problem that Hilton should address.
In any event, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Parc 55 Hotel.

Wont be back. Came for mom birthday but parking alone at this hotel is $75 a night for guest. No military discounts, and the hotel claims they arent part of the business. We didnt recieve water like other guest upon arrival & had to ask for it even though we are Hilton members. They also stated only certain rooms recieve water at all or refills. The hotel itself is outdated, no modern charge ports for phones/tablets etc. The maid service sucked! Instead of replacing our dirty towels and bed sheets which were on the floor for a reason, they folded everything up like new & placed them back for use. I knew this because my make up stains were on the towel i used. Not many bathroom amenities. The a/c made us sick & we endured breathing problems the entire time. We had the maintenance guy come change the filter which was OVERWHELMINGLY DIRTY. Im disappointed in this hilton location.

We decided to stay in the Union Square area this time and as a member of the Hilton Honor program this was an easy choice. Very professional and friendly check-in lady who gave us a room with a nice view upon request. 12th floor had a nice view towards the TransAmerica building. The rooms was nice even if a bit dated. My only negative point is that the queen beds are really small. This was our last stop on a 2 weeks road-trip and definitely the smallest we had… The Bathroom with a tub had everything and good size. The hotel has 7 elevators so you just push in your floor from the outside and an elevator is immediately ready which was really nice. The guys at the valet parking also very friendly and efficient and the car came within minutes of request. Easy access to shopping and eating options. Just a few stepd away from Union square and the Westfield/ San Francisco shopping center on Market street with Nordstrom and Bloomingdales among many other shops. On Market street also other shops and Starbucks. A small Turkish café also just outside for morning coffee and pastries. I loved this hotel and would definitely come back if staying in this area of SF. However I must unfortunately mention that this area has a huge homeless problem (more than Fisherman’s Wharf) and this might pull down the experience a bit even if it has nothing to do with the hotel, only the area.

We used HH points for the room, and then were pleasantly surprised as Diamond members with a no-cost upgrade (after getting earlier emails offer paid upgrades) to a junior suite on the 27th floor. The location is great, two blocks from the south terminus of the cable cars to the Wharf and North Beach. The room was spacious and clean. The cleaning crew left us plenty of bottled water (perhaps the daily tip helped). Surprised there was very little drawer space. TV selection was limited; couldn't even get A's or Giants games. Connecting to WiFi was difficult but with unlimited date it was a problem. The two of us had $36/day credits to use at the restaurant but the buffet breakfast is an outrageous $36 each. We could get fruit, muffins, cereal, coffee etc., which we kept around $36. A nice service person topped off our coffee the first two days but a nasty little guy refused (after ignoring several requests), telling us to spend $4.50 for another one. We reported him to the concierge. Checking out is fast and simple.

The hotel is in the lower average, from the price/performance ratio an absolute disappointment & cheekiness. The location of the hotel is great.
If the house had a different name, it would probably hardly be booked, the name Hilton draws and presupposes especially with us Europeans a standard that is met in the smallest white.
The staff at the check-in was very friendly, but that was it already... Concierge was just overwhelmed or didn't feel like answering questions.
Room dingy and felt 30 years old. Window dirty

Inn booked for 3 nights. Pros: Very well placed to visit the city, metro, Bart and Cable car at the foot of the Pension. Cons: no insulation, you hear the junkies screaming all night, and the air conditioning makes a truck noise The rates charged in restaurants are mind-blowing. For ease we had 2 breakfasts before heading to the Yosemite Park advertised 68 dollars for two people, charged 96 dollars with Pension taxes Staff unkind and unhelpful.

I actually loved this hotel. It's not a boutique hotel by any means. It's a Hilton property, after all. But the hotel is massive and thus very aesthetically pleasing, requiring two escalators to get to the central elevator bank for the rooms after check in. There is a very professional valet team worth every penny plus a good tip. The central valet desk is downstairs on the ground level beneath the check-in/registration desk on the second floor. The Cable55 restaurant is quite good and offers a buffet for lunch and dinner. The view was amazing and worth every penny. The housekeeping staff was amazing and on top of their game. Having stayed at numerous Hilton properties over the years, Hilton has gained a loyal customer. I only give negative points for the location of the pool, having to go off hotel property to access it. - Brooke In The Air

Pros: Convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. We appreciate the extra security measures and attention to sanitation and cleanliness. Bell check was able to stow our luggage for several hours after checkout and before our departure so we had more time to enjoy the city.
Cons: We expected better quality toilet paper. Rough single ply.
The $35 credit doesn't cover more than couple of soft drinks from bar.
Elevator doors close too rapidly for multiple people entering/ exiting the elevator. Iuch.
Carpet in hallways is too squishy for rolling luggage. We prefer solid surface floors in rooms that do not harbor allergens and bacteria in more modern hotels.
Called front desk to request napkins and cutlery for late night food delivery Sunday night. No-show. We made do, but disappointed.
