Stayed at this location in October, 2024. Staff, including the valet's were great; valet parking is required with fees but that's to be expected. The room was very quiet considering it's location; shower was slightly small but functional. Overall aesthetic is typical to most chain hotels such as Hyatt or Hilton and the hotel met expectations. Bed didn't have a topsheet, which was a little strange but was overall comfortable. The main draw of this hotel is the location, being within easy walking distance to Fisherman's Warf and Pier 39, but is also very close to the trolley system and bus systems. We spent the days exploring the area and easily accessed both Chinatown and Little Italy (North Beach) and never felt unsafe, spending alot of time walking and riding transit after dark. Would definitely recommend for someone wanting easy access to tourist hotspots.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric for 2 nights. The hotel is in a great location for Fisherman’s Wharf activities. We felt very safe, even when walking at night. Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Grounds and common areas were clean. The front desk and bar staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the positives, I feel that the hotel is very overpriced due to the excessive resort fees. If we were ever in the area again, I would probably search for more inexpensive options.

My husband is a full-time wheelchair user. He is able to take care of his personal needs when in an environment that is wheelchair accessible. We have been traveling together for over 40 years. My comments on accessibility are for information only in hopes that it may be of help to others. Shower amenities were mounted on the opposite end of the shower from the shower bench. They could not be reached when sitting on the shower bench. Shower controls were very unusual. We had to get a staff member to show us how to use them.

Pros
I rated this hotel a 4 because of the staff. From housekeeping to the valet and front desk teams to the staff at the breakfast area, they wanted to make a difference in your stay and it showed. It's hard to get a cohesive staff in hospitality these these days and I wanted to acknowledge their efforts.

Comfy bed and clean, quiet room in a centrally located neighborhood.

Cons (sorry)
Excessive extra fees to hotel bill.

Didn't feel safe outside near property. The hotel can't control the outside environment but this location didn't feel safe traveling solo from someone who travels lots.

Decor is outdated. Common areas were fine but the hallways to the hotel rooms were dark and dingey. Maybe install better soft lighting? I've stayed at several Hyatt Centric properties before and felt this place didn't live up to that brand.

We chose this hotel because of its great location to the piers and because we were traveling with an elderly disabled family member and our young children. After we were told earlier in the morning over the phone that we could get connecting rooms for two of our rooms so our small children were close to us they did not follow through. When my husband arrive at 6:30 to check in to our rooms. He was told the rooms were ready so him and the bellman proceeded with our luggage to the rooms. As he approaches the rooms he realizes the rooms are not connecting and not next door or across the hall from each other. Plus as he walks in to one of the rooms that he was told was ready him and the bellman find the bed blankets and sheets a mess and on the floor, ironing board and iron out and that the room has not been cleaned yet. Then he has to sit and wait for them to come just change out the sheets and blankets but not sanitize anything else. Plus none of the electrical outlets, ports or radio were working in the room and the engineer had to come fix them at 11 pm. This was just a couple of things that went wrong with our stay. We were told 4 time that a manager would follow up with us to handle the situation and everything we dealt with. It’s been 7 days and no one has reached out to us and we have multiple charges on our world of Hyatt credit card. I have never dealt with a situation like this before and would think a manager would want to talk to their guest regarding their experience but I guess this hurt location is not care I about their guest or sanitary conditions of the rooms for their guest. This is not what you expect when you it $400 for a room! A regular room not a suite of any sort just your everyday standard room!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the challenges you encountered during your stay. We understand how important it was for you to have connecting rooms and how frustrating it must have been when your request could not be met. While we tried to assign the rooms as close as possible, we regret that the room types available did not allow for the connection you requested. Regarding the condition of the room and the service issues you experienced, this is certainly not the standard we strive for, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this caused you and your family. Please know that your concerns about the cleanliness and the lack of timely communication are being taken seriously, and we will be addressing these internally to ensure such incidents do not happen again. We regret that we did not have the opportunity to resolve these issues while you were on the property. Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back and provide the experience you originally expected. Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to hear from you soon.

The front staff was rude and seemed bothered. We are rewards members and felt as though we were not valued as such. The parking is a joke! Nightly mandatory valet parking was $65 per day on top of the daily amenities fee of $45!! We chose to park 2 blocks away due to the outrageous costs. Housekeeping sis not come daily to clean as we requested at check in when we were offered a choice of either daily cleaning or no cleaning at all. With my weak immune system, I require daily cleaning and ample towels. My husband had to go get towels whenever housekeeping skipped cleaning days. Also, we attempted to have breakfast at the restaurant on site but quickly realized the high price to dine there. The typical breakfast buffet there was a whopping $35 per person, including children!! So frustrating! The basic breakfast buffet is one that you would expect at a low cost hotel where you would usually pay $16 per person. Although the location is ideal, just 2 blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf, the hassle is not worth it. We will never stay here again!

jencancino, thank you for sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. It is regrettable that your experience did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide an outstanding experience to all guests, especially our valued rewards members. The concerns you raised about parking fees and housekeeping have been noted, and we are always looking for ways to improve. Our on-site dining prices reflect the quality of ingredients and service, but we understand your perspective. Nonetheless, the proximity to Fisherman's Wharf is indeed a highlight. We hope you might reconsider and give us another chance in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Centric. The hotel is conveniently located just 12 minutes from Fisherman’s Wharf and is central to shops and restaurants. I stayed in a 1-bedroom King room with a Northpoint view, which was spacious and well-appointed. I also arrived early and the hotel was able to accommodate my early check in at 9am.

The water pressure in the shower was also excellent, the towels were thick and luxurious, and housekeeping consistently ensured my room was cleaned promptly.

I highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable stay within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf.

Fantastic location, difficult to be better. The staff was excellent, they were friendly and professional. The room was clean, very comfortable and the amenities were really well maintained. Looking at small things like the trim, carpet, walls, pretty much the overall condition of the public spaces, some of the finishes looked worn but the rooms are really well kept and nice. Breakfast, I tried the buffet on our last day and it was good, the food was hot and fresh, the eggs I ordered were well cooked, and the fruit was tasted and looked fresh, but not a great value. It was $32 and I used the $10 voucher they gave me when I checked in, knocking down the price but it was still 30+ with gratuity.

We stayed for 6 nights at roughly $350-$400 per night for a two “double” bed room. Not only do they not provide a continental breakfast, they want to charge $30 per person! Also, if you have cash and need to quickly wash your clothes (like we had since we had children) the staff told us they do not have any change and I had to walk to the gas station in the city at 11pm. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were amazing. Overall it was a ripoff and we will not be staying there again.

Located in Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco. The cable car is within walking distance in a maximum of 2 minutes, buses and trams also and yet it is very quiet for the Fishermans Wharf. Rooms are clean are cleaned daily and spacious and perfectly equipped. Daily towel change if desired and for longer stay also linen. The staff is very friendly and really eager to fulfill any wish. On the homepage there is a shuttle to the airport but that is not true. We asked three different employees if there is a shuttle three times we heard that we did not but we are very happy to help with Uber or taxi. That is also true the taxi was ordered on the day of departure for 09.30 and on time. In San Francisco I would always choose this hotel from the Hyatt group for this city there is no better hotel if you want to stay at the Hyatt. I also like the idea of the 50$ a day for food and drinks or in the really small hotel shop. At the end of the stay you will be refunded the difference amount that is not consumed. If you want to have breakfast at the hotel, the 50$ will be credited and since the Café Hollywood is right across the street is also a good alternative and you might even go there for breakfast, the 50$ is enough in my opinion. There is also a one-time voucher for a 10% discount which can also be redeemed at breakfast. We will definitely stay there again and again in San Francisco for the city and your sights there is in my opinion no better location than this hotel. Anyone who wants Hyatt in San Francisco should choose this Hyatt.

On a whim, I booked a one-night stay at the Fisherman's Wharf Hyatt Centric. I am a Hyatt member, and I have been practically happy with all of their properties, so this was a no-brainer.
Upon checking in, I asked Luciano at the front desk if I could change my room from an ADA (which I accidentally booked online) to a regular room. He was very accommodating - he immediately found a standard room with a king bed. My husband and I were very happy. The premises was clean, the location was convenient for where we wanted to go.
Before arriving, I did check the price of hotel parking - it was $65. I of course wanted to save a little money, so I booked a parking spot through the Spot Hero app. I was able to park less than 2 blocks away from the hotel for $31! (There are cons to this though - no in-n-out privileges, and you must not leave any belongings visible in your car.)
