I've stayed here a few times over the past year, and have been mostly happy with this property. The staff is pleasant and seem very hard-working and eager to provide the guests with good service, which is head and shoulders above most hotels within the budget category. The rooms are on the smallish side but perfectly adequate for 1-2 people, and I'd be hard-pressed to find much dirt. Unfortunately, the prices have increased consistently such that I have a hard time recommending paying over $100 per night, unless you absolutely need to be in the neighborhood. FYI, the previous review is NOT this hotel, as it's not on the waterfront nor near the airport.

Hi John, We are glad you choose to stay with us multiple times over the past, and we are coming up with a "loyalty rewards" package for regular customers, this should be implemented very soon so the prices and packages should work to be better for prized guests such as yourself. We hope you will choose to stay with us again, we look forward to having you over! Thanks! Have a good day!

Thank you for choosing our hotel and taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that you found our hotel to be simple but ideal, especially considering the high lodging costs in San Francisco. We're glad you appreciated the well-located, free, and safe parking, as well as the complimentary breakfast. It's great to hear that our staff was friendly and accommodating, and we're pleased that you received your packages without any extra charges. We understand that the lack of an elevator may pose challenges for some guests, and we appreciate your understanding. Thank you for your kind words, and we look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to San Francisco.

The Inn is safe, provided free parking and a place to flop for the night that was walking distance to most all points downtown without spending an arm and a leg. Don't expect Four Seasons and you won't be disappointed. Breakfast consists of vending machine type pastries and yogurt cups. There is a Starbucks just a few blocks away for a real cup of coffee. As we all know SF is a very expensive city. We booked, and cancelled various places after Reading reviews that made me second guess the hotels. San Francisco Inn sounded like it would work best for me, my husband, and 9 year old son. We reserved a king size bed for the three of us (two night stay). When we arrived to check in, we were greeted by Amy. Very friendly young lady! She had a lot of knowledge of the ins and outs of the city! Location was good, I wished we were closer to fisherman's wharf but too expensive for not so nice hotels...We were only about a mile, or just a little under a mile away from fisherman's wharf, three blocks away from the crookedest street! It was a great location for us! We are "walkers" so had no problem walking back late at night.
Now to the rooms: if you're only their for a couple of days, and basically gone all day, this is the perfect place! Rooms, linen, towels, restroom, are all nice and clean. Rooms are a bit small, but it suited our needs. The only down side was that as soon as I walked in it smelled a little like cigarettes. Not too strong, but strong enough for me to ask for another room (my husband has asthma, and I'm sensitive to the smell of cigarettes). Unfortunately they were completely booked for the night, but Amy was nice enough to offer us another room for the next night. Our original room was on the 3rd floor, and our second room on the 2nd floor. Honestly, I would have just stayed in our original room! Less noise from the streets, and most importantly, no stomping coming from the floor above us! Unfortunately my husband suffers from Insomnia, and wakes up very easily! He wished we would have stayed on the 3rd floor!
Bottom line, if you plan on staying here: 1. Ask for a room on the 3rd floor 2. Not ideal for more than three nights 3. Make sure the room doesn't smell like cigarettes (it's a non smoking hotel but people are sneaky and smoke either way!) 4. Hopefully Amy is there to help you out! We arrived around 5:30pm.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again as a weekend trip! Rooms look outdated, but I didn't care; as long as it's clean, it does the job!!!

Apparently simple hotel, but impeccable in Limoeza. Spacious rooms, with every comfort: microwave, minibar, heater, coffee maker, spacious bathroom and of course, the rooms are fun to decipher. Simple breakfast but with quality items. Wide parking space, easy to maneuver. Nearby there is a Walgreens, Starbucks, Bigburger. Reception staff are very helpful. At night, total silence.

Stayed here one night with daughter while in town to see baseball game at AT&T park. Staff was friendly enough and the room was dated but clean. A/C worked great in room 22 but there was some street noise during the night. Other reviewers mentioned the neighborhood being a bit questionable, but we walked to and from a night game and never had a problem. There is a Trader Joe's near by for supplies and lots of places to eat. I was in shock when I saw SF room rates for our travel date at $600 to $900+, so I guess I feel lucky to have found the San Francisco Inn for under $300 (plus taxes, etc....). I would have rather had the Hilton or Hyatt, but if you just need a clean place to sleep then this motel and neighborhood are just fine.

First of all: the Hotel is infested with pigeons and this is a disgrace considering that that these animals bring so many diseases for humans. Plus, pigeons make a lot of noise during the night hours since they hang around near the room's doors. The Wi-fi in this Hotel is ridiculously slow: neverending losing times and constant dropping connection. On a positive side: very friendly staff, free parking slot (they have 10 slots so who comes first gets the parking), and good position (10 mins walk to market st and the F line which takes you to Fishermans wharf). Unfortunately the bad sides of this hotel ruin the positive sides, as it is unacceptable in 2014 to have pigeons infesting an hotel property and the hotel not managing (or not wanting) to get rid of them.

After a long tedious driving from Las Vegas I was expecting to rest in a clean and safe room. As soon as We entered to the room we smelled a bad scent inside. The windows were kept open intentionally to mask the scent. There is no enough parking spaces and we had to park in the street which was totally unsafe. After cancelling the reservation they did not refund the money(we had booked it for 3 nights). Reception is

When booking we requested a parking space. There are only about 30 rooms and possibly 20 spaces. We had no trouble. Whilst there you dont really need a car. Enjoy.
No, parking is limited and quite small. Unless they have changed the policy, I would call to double check. Your best bet would be to park and maybe take Uber or lyft around the city or even public transportation.
No, but I've never had an issue after staying there three times.
Dear Guest,
All of our rooms are non-smoking.
Hello,
USF is about 3 miles away from the hotel. That would approximately be a 15 minute drive.
