Booking directly with the hotel yielded the best and most transparent price, b/c of SF tax and the hotel industry's amenities add-ons. The hotel is just off Market Street with many public transportation choices so you can get around the city very easily and conveniently or back to the airport with the Clipper Card and Google Maps. But the location comes with only a few sit down restaurants within walking distance. And you do have to navigate some homeless, as in any city. I found Rocco's Cafe blocks away on Folsom to be a welcoming, reasonably priced and delicious, and there is a Thai place I did not experience near there on Folsom as well. There is good security presence and room key card access to the elevators after hours so I felt safe. The room I had was clean, the bath with shower and tub, the king bed was comfortable for two adults, smart tv, internet, in-room safe, attentive cleaning staff, hot and cold filtered water available in the hall, coffee machine in the room, though Peet's and Starbucks are within walking distance. If you arrive early, you will beat the inevitable line to check in, and they do provide secure bag storage until your room is made up. There is a bar off the lobby, but it is not a restaurant. …

I told Ana and Yolanda (I think that was her name) that I would write a review, so here I am. The BEI Hotel has the most accommodating, friendliest staff ever! From the valet parking guy, to everyone at the front desk.. I was there in December 2021 at the same time a nearby rave was happening. The staff gave me a head's up about the event, recommended restaurants, etc. But this was the cherry on top - my bf and I got to the hotel before check-in, so we were getting ready to roam SF until our room was ready and I asked the front desk if there was any water, or a store nearby. They suggested a place nearby, but just before I left the most professional, very sweet, asian man (I wish I got his name!!) handed me a water bottle under the table. I joked, "I won't tell!" lol. My company put me up at this hotel for a month while I was working at the Orpheum Theatre across the street. The area’s not the best, but this hotel was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is pretty basic, but you have everything you need, and their housekeeping is pretty vigilant about making sure everything stays clean! They have round the clock security in the lobby and out front to make guests feel safer. There’s also ample sitting room to hang out with friends in the lobby, and even a lobby bar open in the late afternoon/night! Michelle, the bartender was a hoot and was great fun as she sized up people to create the perfect drink for them! The real treat are the front desk staff. Yolanda, Ana, Ben, and the rest were always there, greeting me with a smile, knew my name, and always did what they could to help me solve whatever issues I was having, answer questions, or give recommendations! I picked the hotel for its location close to the Orpheum Theater, and it is close, an easy walk across the street. I upgraded when prompted by email to a higher level premium, double queen room before my stay. This was far from premium. The room had two double beds, not queens, and there was a large stain on the carpet. The walls are thin. We could hear flushing toilets in other rooms, and a neighbor hacking away during the night. We were on the 12th executive level floor. In total with parking, this was a $298 one-night stay. I think there is better value elsewhere.

The moment that we entered the facility we felt a sense of luxury and were treated with such care and kindness. The lady at the front desk was really able to satisfy our needs and even offered to make our stay even more comfortable and memorable. Overall the environment and the workers are all very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any friends who were to come visit the city !

Don’t waste your money. Look elsewhere. Way more options. Homeless population as unfortunate as it is… horrific by this hotel. Hotel does not serve food or drinks (adult) until 4pm. Traveling all day we could of enjoyed a beer on property. Better options look elsewhere

Went to see a show at the Civic Center and I got the hotel due to the proximity, but upon arrival, I had no parking spot saved even if I was a guest because they let non-clients get the parking. Missed the show, and I had to park in an unsafe spot, so I left the hotel within an hour. Terrible experience.

BEI San Francisco was a cool place to stay. Friendly staff made you feel like family. Ana helped us check it and she was great assisting us check in and let us know some information about the place. Wish I can remember the bartenders name he helped us on a Monday super chill cool guy. Great conversation and let us know all the best spots to eat while we were in town. As far as the location of the place yes lots of homelessness around the area but the have a security guard on site majority of the day so you feel more comfortable. House keeping staff also very friendly. I personally would not come stay again but over experience was good and would recommend for any first time customers. Thanks again Ana!

Room was clean and staff was friendly. First two nights, next room was loud until 3AM. Notified staff after night one but no change. Night 3, the fire alarm went off at 3AM so we had to evacuate the building. Night 4 there was a big party taking all parking spots so we had to wait more than 30 minutes in our car to park even though we had already paid $55 to park.
